الٓمٓ ﴿١﴾

الم

Alif, Lam, Meem.

ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿٢﴾

Thalika alkitabu la rayba feehi hudan lilmuttaqeena

یہ کتاب (قرآن مجید) اس میں کچھ شک نہیں (کہ کلامِ خدا ہے۔ خدا سے) ڈرنے والوں کی رہنما ہے

This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah -

ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ ﴿٣﴾

Allatheena yuminoona bialghaybi wayuqeemoona alssalata wamimma razaqnahum yunfiqoona

جو غیب پر ایمان لاتے اور آداب کے ساتھ نماز پڑھتے اور جو کچھ ہم نے ان کو عطا فرمایا ہے اس میں سے خرچ کرتے ہیں

Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them,

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ ﴿٤﴾

Waallatheena yuminoona bima onzila ilayka wama onzila min qablika wabialakhirati hum yooqinoona

اور جو کتاب (اے محمدﷺ) تم پر نازل ہوئی اور جو کتابیں تم سے پہلے (پیغمبروں پر) نازل ہوئیں سب پر ایمان لاتے اور آخرت کا یقین رکھتے ہیں

And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَلَىٰ هُدًى مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ ﴿٥﴾

Olaika AAala hudan min rabbihim waolaika humu almuflihoona

یہی لوگ اپنے پروردگار (کی طرف) سے ہدایت پر ہیں اور یہی نجات پانے والے ہیں

Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿٦﴾

Inna allatheena kafaroo sawaon AAalayhim aanthartahum am lam tunthirhum la yuminoona

جو لوگ کافر ہیں انہیں تم نصیحت کرو یا نہ کرو ان کے لیے برابر ہے۔ وہ ایمان نہیں لانے کے

Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe.

خَتَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰٓ أَبْصَٰرِهِمْ غِشَٰوَةٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ ﴿٧﴾

Khatama Allahu AAala quloobihim waAAala samAAihim waAAala absarihim ghishawatun walahum AAathabun AAa<i>th</i>eemun

خدا نے ان کے دلوں اور کانوں پر مہر لگا رکھی ہے اور ان کی آنکھوں پر پردہ (پڑا ہوا) ہے اور ان کے لیے بڑا عذاب (تیار) ہے

Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment.

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٨﴾

Wamina alnnasi man yaqoolu amanna biAllahi wabialyawmi alakhiri wama hum bimumineena

اور بعض لوگ ایسے ہیں جو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم خدا پر اور روزِ آخرت پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں حالانکہ وہ ایمان نہیں رکھتے

And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah and the Last Day," but they are not believers.

يُخَٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ ﴿٩﴾

YukhadiAAoona Allaha waallatheena amanoo wama yakhdaAAoona illa anfusahum wama yashAAuroona

یہ (اپنے پندار میں) خدا کو اور مومنوں کو چکما دیتے ہیں مگر (حقیقت میں) اپنے سوا کسی کو چکما نہیں دیتے اور اس سے بے خبر ہیں

They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not.

فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَرَضًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْذِبُونَ ﴿١٠﴾

Fee quloobihim maradun fazadahumu Allahu maradan walahum AAathabun aleemun bima kanoo yakthiboona

ان کے دلوں میں (کفر کا) مرض تھا۔ خدا نے ان کا مرض اور زیادہ کر دیا اور ان کے جھوٹ بولنے کے سبب ان کو دکھ دینے والا عذاب ہوگا

In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ ﴿١١﴾

Waitha qeela lahum la tufsidoo fee alardi qaloo innama nahnu muslihoona

اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ زمین میں فساد نہ ڈالو تو کہتے ہیں، ہم تو اصلاح کرنے والے ہیں

And when it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the earth," they say, "We are but reformers."

أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَشْعُرُونَ ﴿١٢﴾

Ala innahum humu almufsidoona walakin la yashAAuroona

دیکھو یہ بلاشبہ مفسد ہیں، لیکن خبر نہیں رکھتے

Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive [it] not.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ ءَامِنُوا۟ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلنَّاسُ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ كَمَآ ءَامَنَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ وَلَٰكِن لَّا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٣﴾

Waitha qeela lahum aminoo kama amana alnnasu qaloo anuminu kama amana alssufahao ala innahum humu alssufahao walakin la yaAAlamoona

اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ جس طرح اور لوگ ایمان لے آئے، تم بھی ایمان لے آؤ تو کہتے ہیں، بھلا جس طرح بےوقوف ایمان لے آئے ہیں اسی طرح ہم بھی ایمان لے آئیں؟ سن لو کہ یہی بےوقوف ہیں لیکن نہیں جانتے

And when it is said to them, "Believe as the people have believed," they say, "Should we believe as the foolish have believed?" Unquestionably, it is they who are the foolish, but they know [it] not.

وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ شَيَٰطِينِهِمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُسْتَهْزِءُونَ ﴿١٤﴾

Waitha laqoo allatheena amanoo qaloo amanna waitha khalaw ila shayateenihim qaloo inna maAAakum innama nahnu mustahzioona

اور یہ لوگ جب مومنوں سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لے آئے ہیں، اور جب اپنے شیطانوں میں جاتے ہیں تو (ان سے) کہتے ہیں کہ ہم تمھارے ساتھ ہیں اور (پیروانِ محمدﷺ سے) تو ہم ہنسی کیا کرتے ہیں

And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers."

ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِهِمْ وَيَمُدُّهُمْ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ ﴿١٥﴾

Allahu yastahzio bihim wayamudduhum fee tughyanihim yaAAmahoona

ان (منافقوں) سے خدا ہنسی کرتا ہے اور انہیں مہلت دیئے جاتا ہے کہ شرارت وسرکشی میں پڑے بہک رہے ہیں

[But] Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression [while] they wander blindly.

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ فَمَا رَبِحَت تِّجَٰرَتُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ ﴿١٦﴾

Olaika allatheena ishtarawoo alddalalata bialhuda fama rabihat tijaratuhum wama kanoo muhtadeena

یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے ہدایت چھوڑ کر گمراہی خریدی، تو نہ تو ان کی تجارت ہی نے کچھ نفع دیا اور نہ وہ ہدایت یاب ہی ہوئے

Those are the ones who have purchased error [in exchange] for guidance, so their transaction has brought no profit, nor were they guided.

مَثَلُهُمْ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَوْقَدَ نَارًا فَلَمَّآ أَضَآءَتْ مَا حَوْلَهُۥ ذَهَبَ ٱللَّهُ بِنُورِهِمْ وَتَرَكَهُمْ فِى ظُلُمَٰتٍ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ ﴿١٧﴾

Mathaluhum kamathali allathee istawqada naran falamma adaat ma hawlahu thahaba Allahu binoorihim watarakahum fee <i>th</i>ulumatin la yubsiroona

ان کی مثال اس شخص کی سی ہے کہ جس نے (شبِ تاریک میں) آگ جلائی۔ جب آگ نے اس کے اردگرد کی چیزیں روشن کیں تو خدا نے ان کی روشنی زائل کر دی اور ان کو اندھیروں میں چھوڑ دیا کہ کچھ نہیں دیکھتے

Their example is that of one who kindled a fire, but when it illuminated what was around him, Allah took away their light and left them in darkness [so] they could not see.

صُمٌّۢ بُكْمٌ عُمْىٌ فَهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿١٨﴾

Summun bukmun AAumyun fahum la yarjiAAoona

(یہ) بہرے ہیں، گونگے ہیں، اندھے ہیں کہ (کسی طرح سیدھے رستے کی طرف) لوٹ ہی نہیں سکتے

Deaf, dumb and blind - so they will not return [to the right path].

أَوْ كَصَيِّبٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَٰتٌ وَرَعْدٌ وَبَرْقٌ يَجْعَلُونَ أَصَٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِم مِّنَ ٱلصَّوَٰعِقِ حَذَرَ ٱلْمَوْتِ وَٱللَّهُ مُحِيطٌۢ بِٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿١٩﴾

Aw kasayyibin mina alssamai feehi <i>th</i>ulumatun waraAAdun wabarqun yajAAaloona asabiAAahum fee athanihim mina alssawaAAiqi hathara almawti waAllahu muheetun bialkafireena

یا ان کی مثال مینہ کی سی ہے کہ آسمان سے (برس رہا ہو اور) اس میں اندھیرے پر اندھیرا (چھا رہا) ہو اور (بادل) گرج (رہا) ہو اور بجلی (کوند رہی) ہو تو یہ کڑک سے (ڈر کر) موت کے خوف سے کانوں میں انگلیاں دے لیں اور الله کافروں کو (ہر طرف سے) گھیرے ہوئے ہے

Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in dread of death. But Allah is encompassing of the disbelievers.

يَكَادُ ٱلْبَرْقُ يَخْطَفُ أَبْصَٰرَهُمْ كُلَّمَآ أَضَآءَ لَهُم مَّشَوْا۟ فِيهِ وَإِذَآ أَظْلَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَامُوا۟ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَذَهَبَ بِسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿٢٠﴾

Yakadu albarqu yakhtafu absarahum kullama adaa lahum mashaw feehi waitha a<i>th</i>lama AAalayhim qamoo walaw shaa Allahu lathahaba bisamAAihim waabsarihim inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

قریب ہے کہ بجلی (کی چمک) ان کی آنکھوں (کی بصارت) کو اچک لے جائے۔ جب بجلی (چمکتی اور) ان پر روشنی ڈالی ہے تو اس میں چل پڑتے ہیں اور جب اندھیرا ہو جاتا ہے تو کھڑے کے کھڑے رہ جاتے ہیں اور اگر الله چاہتا تو ان کے کانوں (کی شنوائی) اور آنکھوں (کی بینائی دونوں) کو زائل کر دیتا ہے۔ بے شک الله ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

The lightning almost snatches away their sight. Every time it lights [the way] for them, they walk therein; but when darkness comes over them, they stand [still]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ ﴿٢١﴾

Ya ayyuha alnnasu oAAbudoo rabbakumu allathee khalaqakum waallatheena min qablikum laAAallakum tattaqoona

لوگو! اپنے پروردگار کی عبات کرو جس نے تم کو اور تم سے پہلے لوگوں کو پیدا کیا تاکہ تم (اس کے عذاب سے) بچو

O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous -

ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ فِرَٰشًا وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بِنَآءً وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزْقًا لَّكُمْ فَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ أَندَادًا وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٢٢﴾

Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda firashan waalssamaa binaan waanzala mina alssamai maan faakhraja bihi mina alththamarati rizqan lakum fala tajAAaloo lillahi andadan waantum taAAlamoona

جس نے تمھارے لیے زمین کو بچھونا اور آسمان کو چھت بنایا اور آسمان سے مینہ برسا کر تمہارے کھانے کے لیے انواع و اقسام کے میوے پیدا کئے۔ پس کسی کو خدا کا ہمسر نہ بناؤ۔ اور تم جانتے تو ہو

[He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him].

وَإِن كُنتُمْ فِى رَيْبٍ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُوا۟ بِسُورَةٍ مِّن مِّثْلِهِۦ وَٱدْعُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿٢٣﴾

Wain kuntum fee raybin mimma nazzalna AAala AAabdina fatoo bisooratin min mithlihi waodAAoo shuhadaakum min dooni Allahi in kuntum sadiqeena

اور اگر تم کو اس (کتاب) میں، جو ہم نے اپنے بندے (محمدﷺ عربی) پر نازل فرمائی ہے کچھ شک ہو تو اسی طرح کی ایک سورت تم بھی بنا لاؤ اور خدا کے سوا جو تمہارے مددگار ہوں ان کو بھی بلالو اگر تم سچے ہو

And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful.

فَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلُوا۟ وَلَن تَفْعَلُوا۟ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلْحِجَارَةُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿٢٤﴾

Fain lam tafAAaloo walan tafAAaloo faittaqoo alnnara allatee waqooduha alnnasu waalhijaratu oAAiddat lilkafireena

لیکن اگر (ایسا) نہ کر سکو اور ہرگز نہیں کر سکو گے تو اس آگ سے ڈرو جس کا ایندھن آدمی اور پتھر ہوں گے (اور جو) کافروں کے لیے تیار کی گئی ہے

But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.

وَبَشِّرِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ كُلَّمَا رُزِقُوا۟ مِنْهَا مِن ثَمَرَةٍ رِّزْقًا قَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى رُزِقْنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَأُتُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُتَشَٰبِهًا وَلَهُمْ فِيهَآ أَزْوَٰجٌ مُّطَهَّرَةٌ وَهُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ﴿٢٥﴾

Wabashshiri allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati anna lahum jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu kullama ruziqoo minha min thamaratin rizqan qaloo hatha allathee ruziqna min qablu waotoo bihi mutashabihan walahum feeha azwajun mutahharatun wahum feeha khalidoona

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے، ان کو خوشخبری سنا دو کہ ان کے لیے (نعمت کے) باغ ہیں، جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں۔ جب انہیں ان میں سے کسی قسم کا میوہ کھانے کو دیا جائے گا تو کہیں گے، یہ تو وہی ہے جو ہم کو پہلے دیا گیا تھا۔ اور ان کو ایک دوسرے کے ہم شکل میوے دیئے جائیں گے اور وہاں ان کے لیے پاک بیویاں ہوں گی اور وہ بہشتوں میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے

And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْىِۦٓ أَن يَضْرِبَ مَثَلًا مَّا بَعُوضَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَيَقُولُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلًا يُضِلُّ بِهِۦ كَثِيرًا وَيَهْدِى بِهِۦ كَثِيرًا وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ ﴿٢٦﴾

Inna Allaha la yastahyee an yadriba mathalan ma baAAoodatan fama fawqaha faamma allatheena amanoo fayaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu min rabbihim waamma allatheena kafaroo fayaqooloona matha arada Allahu bihatha mathalan yudillu bihi katheeran wayahdee bihi katheeran wama yudillu bihi illa alfasiqeena

الله اس بات سے عار نہیں کرتا کہ مچھر یا اس سے بڑھ کر کسی چیز (مثلاً مکھی مکڑی وغیرہ) کی مثال بیان فرمائے۔ جو مومن ہیں، وہ یقین کرتے ہیں وہ ان کے پروردگار کی طرف سے سچ ہے اور جو کافر ہیں وہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس مثال سے خدا کی مراد ہی کیا ہے۔ اس سے (خدا) بہتوں کو گمراہ کرتا ہے اور بہتوں کو ہدایت بخشتا ہے اور گمراہ بھی کرتا تو نافرمانوں ہی کو

Indeed, Allah is not timid to present an example - that of a mosquito or what is smaller than it. And those who have believed know that it is the truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say, "What did Allah intend by this as an example?" He misleads many thereby and guides many thereby. And He misleads not except the defiantly disobedient,

ٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مِيثَٰقِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ ﴿٢٧﴾

Allatheena yanqudoona AAahda Allahi min baAAdi meethaqihi wayaqtaAAoona ma amara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayufsidoona fee alardi olaika humu alkhasiroona

جو خدا کے اقرار کو مضبوط کرنے کے بعد توڑ دیتے ہیں اور جس چیز (یعنی رشتہٴ قرابت) کے جوڑے رکھنے کا الله نے حکم دیا ہے اس کو قطع کئے ڈالتے ہیں اور زمین میں خرابی کرتے ہیں یہی لوگ نقصان اٹھانے والے ہیں

Who break the covenant of Allah after contracting it and sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined and cause corruption on earth. It is those who are the losers.

كَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَكُنتُمْ أَمْوَٰتًا فَأَحْيَٰكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ﴿٢٨﴾

Kayfa takfuroona bi<strong>A</strong>llahi wakuntum amwatan faahyakum thumma yumeetukum thumma yuhyeekum thumma ilayhi turjaAAoona

(کافرو!) تم خدا سے کیوں کر منکر ہو سکتے ہو جس حال میں کہ تم بےجان تھے تو اس نے تم کو جان بخشی پھر وہی تم کو مارتا ہے پھر وہی تم کو زندہ کرے گا پھر تم اسی کی طرف لوٹ کر جاؤ گے

How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَسَوَّىٰهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ ﴿٢٩﴾

Huwa allathee khalaqa lakum ma fee alardi jameeAAan thumma istawa ila alssamai fasawwahunna sabAAa samawatin wahuwa bikulli shayin AAaleemun

وہی تو ہے جس نے سب چیزیں جو زمین میں ہیں تمہارے لیے پیدا کیں پھر آسمان کی طرف متوجہ ہوا تو ان کو ٹھیک سات آسمان بنا دیا اور وہ ہر چیز سے خبردار ہے

It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things.

وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى جَاعِلٌ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفْسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسْفِكُ ٱلدِّمَآءَ وَنَحْنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٣٠﴾

Waith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee jaAAilun fee alardi khaleefatan qaloo atajAAalu feeha man yufsidu feeha wayasfiku alddimaa wanahnu nusabbihu bihamdika wanuqaddisu laka qala innee aAAlamu ma la taAAlamoona

اور (وہ وقت یاد کرنے کے قابل ہے) جب تمہارے پروردگار نے فرشتوں سے فرمایا کہ میں زمین میں (اپنا) نائب بنانے والا ہوں۔ انہوں نے کہا۔ کیا تُو اس میں ایسے شخص کو نائب بنانا چاہتا ہے جو خرابیاں کرے اور کشت وخون کرتا پھرے اور ہم تیری تعریف کے ساتھ تسبیح وتقدیس کرتے رہتے ہیں۔ (خدا نے) فرمایا میں وہ باتیں جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."

وَعَلَّمَ ءَادَمَ ٱلْأَسْمَآءَ كُلَّهَا ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ فَقَالَ أَنۢبِـُٔونِى بِأَسْمَآءِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿٣١﴾

WaAAallama adama alasmaa kullaha thumma AAaradahum AAala almalaikati faqala anbioonee biasmai haolai in kuntum sadiqeena

اور اس نے آدم کو سب (چیزوں کے) نام سکھائے پھر ان کو فرشتوں کے سامنے کیا اور فرمایا کہ اگر تم سچے ہو تو مجھے ان کے نام بتاؤ

And He taught Adam the names - all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, "Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful."

قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَآ إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَآ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ﴿٣٢﴾

Qaloo subhanaka la AAilma lana illa ma AAallamtana innaka anta alAAaleemu alhakeemu

انہوں نے کہا، تو پاک ہے۔ جتنا علم تو نے ہمیں بخشا ہے، اس کے سوا ہمیں کچھ معلوم نہیں۔ بے شک تو دانا (اور) حکمت والا ہے

They said, "Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise."

قَالَ يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ أَنۢبِئْهُم بِأَسْمَآئِهِمْ فَلَمَّآ أَنۢبَأَهُم بِأَسْمَآئِهِمْ قَالَ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ غَيْبَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَأَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُونَ وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْتُمُونَ ﴿٣٣﴾

Qala ya adamu anbihum biasmaihim falamma anbaahum biasmaihim qala alam aqul lakum innee aAAlamu ghayba alssamawati waalardi waaAAlamu ma tubdoona wama kuntum taktumoona

(تب) خدا نے (آدم کو) حکم دیا کہ آدم! تم ان کو ان (چیزوں) کے نام بتاؤ۔ جب انہوں نے ان کو ان کے نام بتائے تو (فرشتوں سے) فرمایا کیوں میں نے تم سے نہیں کہا تھا کہ میں آسمانوں اور زمین کی (سب) پوشیدہ باتیں جاتنا ہوں اور جو تم ظاہر کرتے ہو اور جو پوشیدہ کرتے ہو (سب) مجھ کو معلوم ہے

He said, "O Adam, inform them of their names." And when he had informed them of their names, He said, "Did I not tell you that I know the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth? And I know what you reveal and what you have concealed."

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِـَٔادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿٣٤﴾

Waith qulna lilmalaikati osjudoo liadama fasajadoo illa ibleesa aba waistakbara wakana mina alkafireena

اور جب ہم نے فرشتوں کو حکم دیا کہ آدم کے آگے سجدہ کرو تو وہ سجدے میں گر پڑے مگر شیطان نے انکار کیا اور غرور میں آکر کافر بن گیا

And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate before Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.

وَقُلْنَا يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ ٱسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَكُلَا مِنْهَا رَغَدًا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿٣٥﴾

Waqulna ya adamu oskun anta wazawjuka aljannata wakula minha raghadan haythu shituma wala taqraba hathihi alshshajarata fatakoona mina al<i>thth</i>alimeena

اور ہم نے کہا کہ اے آدم تم اور تمہاری بیوی بہشت میں رہو اور جہاں سے چاہو بے روک ٹوک کھاؤ (پیو) لیکن اس درخت کے پاس نہ جانا نہیں تو ظالموں میں (داخل) ہو جاؤ گے

And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."

فَأَزَلَّهُمَا ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ عَنْهَا فَأَخْرَجَهُمَا مِمَّا كَانَا فِيهِ وَقُلْنَا ٱهْبِطُوا۟ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ وَلَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ ﴿٣٦﴾

Faazallahuma alshshaytanu AAanha faakhrajahuma mimma kana feehi waqulna ihbitoo baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun walakum fee alardi mustaqarrun wamataAAun ila heenin

پھر شیطان نے دونوں کو وہاں سے پھسلا دیا اور جس (عیش ونشاط) میں تھے، اس سے ان کو نکلوا دیا۔ تب ہم نے حکم دیا کہ (بہشت بریں سے) چلے جاؤ۔ تم ایک دوسرے کے دشمن ہو، اور تمہارے لیے زمین میں ایک وقت تک ٹھکانا اور معاش (مقرر کر دیا گیا) ہے

But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been. And We said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time."

فَتَلَقَّىٰٓ ءَادَمُ مِن رَّبِّهِۦ كَلِمَٰتٍ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿٣٧﴾

Fatalaqqa adamu min rabbihi kalimatin fataba AAalayhi innahu huwa alttawwabu alrraheemu

پھر آدم نے اپنے پروردگار سے کچھ کلمات سیکھے (اور معافی مانگی) تو اس نے ان کا قصور معاف کر دیا بے شک وہ معاف کرنے والا (اور) صاحبِ رحم ہے

Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

قُلْنَا ٱهْبِطُوا۟ مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّى هُدًى فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ﴿٣٨﴾

Qulna ihbitoo minha jameeAAan faimma yatiyannakum minnee hudan faman tabiAAa hudaya fala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

ہم نے فرمایا کہ تم سب یہاں سے اتر جاؤ جب تمہارے پاس میری طرف سے ہدایت پہنچے تو (اس کی پیروی کرنا کہ) جنہوں نے میری ہدایت کی پیروی کی ان کو نہ کچھ خوف ہوگا اور نہ وہ غمناک ہوں گے

We said, "Go down from it, all of you. And when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ﴿٣٩﴾

Waallatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biayatina olaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

اور جنہوں نے (اس کو) قبول نہ کیا اور ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا، وہ دوزخ میں جانے والے ہیں (اور) وہ ہمیشہ اس میں رہیں گے

And those who disbelieve and deny Our signs - those will be companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally."

يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتِىَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَوْفُوا۟ بِعَهْدِىٓ أُوفِ بِعَهْدِكُمْ وَإِيَّٰىَ فَٱرْهَبُونِ ﴿٤٠﴾

Ya banee israeela othkuroo niAAmatiya allatee anAAamtu AAalaykum waawfoo biAAahdee oofi biAAahdikum waiyyaya fairhabooni

اے یعقوب کی اولاد! میرے وہ احسان یاد کرو جو میں نے تم پر کئے تھے اور اس اقرار کو پورا کرو جو تم نے مجھ سے کیا تھا۔ میں اس اقرار کو پورا کروں گا جو میں نے تم سے کیا تھا اور مجھی سے ڈرتے رہو

O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you and fulfill My covenant [upon you] that I will fulfill your covenant [from Me], and be afraid of [only] Me.

وَءَامِنُوا۟ بِمَآ أَنزَلْتُ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ وَلَا تَكُونُوٓا۟ أَوَّلَ كَافِرٍۭ بِهِۦ وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِى ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا وَإِيَّٰىَ فَٱتَّقُونِ ﴿٤١﴾

Waaminoo bima anzaltu musaddiqan lima maAAakum wala takoonoo awwala kafirin bihi wala tashtaroo biayatee thamanan qaleelan waiyyaya faittaqooni

اور جو کتاب میں نے (اپنے رسول محمدﷺ پر) نازل کی ہے جو تمہاری کتاب تورات کو سچا کہتی ہے، اس پر ایمان لاؤ اور اس سے منکرِ اول نہ بنو، اور میری آیتوں میں (تحریف کر کے) ان کے بدلے تھوڑی سی قیمت (یعنی دنیاوی منعفت) نہ حاصل کرو، اور مجھی سے خوف رکھو

And believe in what I have sent down confirming that which is [already] with you, and be not the first to disbelieve in it. And do not exchange My signs for a small price, and fear [only] Me.

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا۟ ٱلْحَقَّ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا۟ ٱلْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٤٢﴾

Wala talbisoo alhaqqa bialbatili wataktumoo alhaqqa waantum taAAlamoona

اور حق کو باطل کے ساتھ نہ ملاؤ، اور سچی بات کو جان بوجھ کر نہ چھپاؤ

And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].

وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱرْكَعُوا۟ مَعَ ٱلرَّٰكِعِينَ ﴿٤٣﴾

Waaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata wairkaAAoo maAAa alrrakiAAeena

اور نماز پڑھا کرو اور زکوٰة دیا کرو اور (خدا کے آگے) جھکنے والوں کے ساتھ جھکا کرو

And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience].

أَتَأْمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلْبِرِّ وَتَنسَوْنَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَتْلُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿٤٤﴾

Atamuroona alnnasa bialbirri watansawna anfusakum waantum tatloona alkitaba afala taAAqiloona

(یہ) کیا (عقل کی بات ہے کہ) تم لوگوں کو نیکی کرنے کو کہتے ہو اور اپنے تئیں فراموش کئے دیتے ہو، حالانکہ تم کتاب (خدا) بھی پڑھتے ہو۔ کیا تم سمجھتے نہیں؟

Do you order righteousness of the people and forget yourselves while you recite the Scripture? Then will you not reason?

وَٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلْخَٰشِعِينَ ﴿٤٥﴾

WaistaAAeenoo bialssabri waalssalati wainnaha lakabeeratun illa AAala alkhashiAAeena

اور (رنج وتکلیف میں) صبر اور نماز سے مدد لیا کرو اور بے شک نماز گراں ہے، مگر ان لوگوں پر (گراں نہیں) جو عجز کرنے والے ہیں

And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah]

ٱلَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُوا۟ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ رَٰجِعُونَ ﴿٤٦﴾

Allatheena ya<i>th</i>unnoona annahum mulaqoo rabbihim waannahum ilayhi rajiAAoona

اور جو یقین کئے ہوئے ہیں کہ وہ اپنے پروردگار سے ملنے والے ہیں اور اس کی طرف لوٹ کر جانے والے ہیں

Who are certain that they will meet their Lord and that they will return to Him.

يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتِىَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَنِّى فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٤٧﴾

Ya banee israeela othkuroo niAAmatiya allatee anAAamtu AAalaykum waannee faddaltukum AAala alAAalameena

اے یعقوب کی اولاد! میرے وہ احسان یاد کرو، جو میں نے تم پر کئے تھے اور یہ کہ میں نے تم کو جہان کے لوگوں پر فضیلت بخشی تھی

O Children of Israel, remember My favor that I have bestowed upon you and that I preferred you over the worlds.

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ يَوْمًا لَّا تَجْزِى نَفْسٌ عَن نَّفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا شَفَٰعَةٌ وَلَا يُؤْخَذُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ﴿٤٨﴾

Waittaqoo yawman la tajzee nafsun AAan nafsin shayan wala yuqbalu minha shafaAAatun wala yukhathu minha AAadlun wala hum yunsaroona

اور اس دن سے ڈرو جب کوئی کسی کے کچھ کام نہ آئے اور نہ کسی کی سفارش منظور کی جائے اور نہ کسی سے کسی طرح کا بدلہ قبول کیا جائے اور نہ لوگ (کسی اور طرح) مدد حاصل کر سکیں

And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be taken from it, nor will they be aided.

وَإِذْ نَجَّيْنَٰكُم مِّنْ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ يُذَبِّحُونَ أَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمْ وَفِى ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ ﴿٤٩﴾

Waith najjaynakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum sooa alAAathabi yuthabbihoona abnaakum wayastahyoona nisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikum AAa<i>th</i>eemun

اور (ہمارے ان احسانات کو یاد کرو) جب ہم نے تم کو قومِ فرعون سے نجات بخشی وہ (لوگ) تم کو بڑا دکھ دیتے تھے تمہارے بیٹوں کو تو قتل کر ڈالتے تھے اور بیٹیوں کو زندہ رہنے دیتے تھے اور اس میں تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے بڑی (سخت) آزمائش تھی

And [recall] when We saved your forefathers from the people of Pharaoh, who afflicted you with the worst torment, slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.

وَإِذْ فَرَقْنَا بِكُمُ ٱلْبَحْرَ فَأَنجَيْنَٰكُمْ وَأَغْرَقْنَآ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ ﴿٥٠﴾

Waith faraqna bikumu albahra faanjaynakum waaghraqna ala firAAawna waantum tan<i>th</i>uroona

اور جب ہم نے تمہارے لیے دریا کو پھاڑ دیا تم کو نجات دی اور فرعون کی قوم کو غرق کر دیا اور تم دیکھ ہی تو رہے تھے

And [recall] when We parted the sea for you and saved you and drowned the people of Pharaoh while you were looking on.

وَإِذْ وَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَنتُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ ﴿٥١﴾

Waith waAAadna moosa arbaAAeena laylatan thumma ittakhathtumu alAAijla min baAAdihi waantum <i>th</i>alimoona

اور جب ہم نے موسیٰ سے چالیس رات کا وعدہ کیا تو تم نے ان کے پیچھے بچھڑے کو (معبود) مقرر کر لیا اور تم ظلم کر رہے تھے

And [recall] when We made an appointment with Moses for forty nights. Then you took [for worship] the calf after him, while you were wrongdoers.

ثُمَّ عَفَوْنَا عَنكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ﴿٥٢﴾

Thumma AAafawna AAankum min baAAdi thalika laAAallakum tashkuroona

پھر اس کے بعد ہم نے تم کو معاف کر دیا، تاکہ تم شکر کرو

Then We forgave you after that so perhaps you would be grateful.

وَإِذْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْفُرْقَانَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ﴿٥٣﴾

Waith atayna moosa alkitaba waalfurqana laAAallakum tahtadoona

اور جب ہم نے موسیٰ کو کتاب اور معجزے عنایت کئے، تاکہ تم ہدایت حاصل کرو

And [recall] when We gave Moses the Scripture and criterion that perhaps you would be guided.

وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِۦ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ أَنفُسَكُم بِٱتِّخَاذِكُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ فَتُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ بَارِئِكُمْ فَٱقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ عِندَ بَارِئِكُمْ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿٥٤﴾

Waith qala moosa liqawmihi ya qawmi innakum <i>th</i>alamtum anfusakum biittikhathikumu alAAijla fatooboo ila bariikum faoqtuloo anfusakum thalikum khayrun lakum AAinda bariikum fataba AAalaykum innahu huwa alttawwabu alrraheemu

اور جب موسیٰ نے اپنی قوم کے لوگوں سے کہا کہ بھائیو، تم نے بچھڑے کو (معبود) ٹھہرانے میں (بڑا) ظلم کیا ہے، تو اپنے پیدا کرنے والے کے آگے توبہ کرو اور اپنے تئیں ہلاک کر ڈالو۔ تمہارے خالق کے نزدیک تمہارے حق میں یہی بہتر ہے۔ پھر اس نے تمہارا قصور معاف کر دیا۔ وہ بے شک معاف کرنے والا (اور) صاحبِ رحم ہے

And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf [for worship]. So repent to your Creator and kill yourselves. That is best for [all of] you in the sight of your Creator." Then He accepted your repentance; indeed, He is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ نَرَى ٱللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْكُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ ﴿٥٥﴾

Waith qultum ya moosa lan numina laka hatta nara Allaha jahratan faakhathatkumu alssaAAiqatu waantum tan<i>th</i>uroona

اور جب تم نے (موسیٰ) سے کہا کہ موسیٰ، جب تک ہم خدا کو سامنے نہ دیکھ لیں گے، تم پر ایمان نہیں لائیں گے، تو تم کو بجلی نے آ گھیرا اور تم دیکھ رہے تھے

And [recall] when you said, "O Moses, we will never believe you until we see Allah outright"; so the thunderbolt took you while you were looking on.

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَٰكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَوْتِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ﴿٥٦﴾

Thumma baAAathnakum min baAAdi mawtikum laAAallakum tashkuroona

پھر موت آ جانے کے بعد ہم نے تم کو ازسرِ نو زندہ کر دیا، تاکہ احسان مانو

Then We revived you after your death that perhaps you would be grateful.

وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْغَمَامَ وَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ كُلُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنَٰكُمْ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ ﴿٥٧﴾

Wa<i>th</i>allalna AAalaykumu alghamama waanzalna AAalaykumu almanna waalssalwa kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum wama <i>th</i>alamoona walakin kanoo anfusahum ya<i>th</i>limoona

اور بادل کا تم پر سایہ کئے رکھا اور (تمہارے لیے) من و سلویٰ اتارتے رہے کہ جو پاکیزہ چیزیں ہم نے تم کو عطا فرمائی ہیں، ان کو کھاؤ (پیو) مگر تمہارے بزرگوں نے ان نعمتوں کی کچھ قدر نہ جانی (اور) وہ ہمارا کچھ نہیں بگاڑتے تھے بلکہ اپنا ہی نقصان کرتے تھے

And We shaded you with clouds and sent down to you manna and quails, [saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you." And they wronged Us not - but they were [only] wronging themselves.

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا ٱدْخُلُوا۟ هَٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةَ فَكُلُوا۟ مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ رَغَدًا وَٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَقُولُوا۟ حِطَّةٌ نَّغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطَٰيَٰكُمْ وَسَنَزِيدُ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿٥٨﴾

Waith qulna odkhuloo hathihi alqaryata fakuloo minha haythu shitum raghadan waodkhuloo albaba sujjadan waqooloo hittatun naghfir lakum khatayakum wasanazeedu almuhsineena

اور جب ہم نے (ان سے) کہا کہ اس گاؤں میں داخل ہو جاؤ اور اس میں جہاں سے چاہو، خوب کھاؤ (پیو) اور (دیکھنا) دروازے میں داخل ہونا تو سجدہ کرنا اور حطة کہنا، ہم تمہارے گناہ معاف کر دیں گے اور نیکی کرنے والوں کو اور زیادہ دیں گے

And [recall] when We said, "Enter this city and eat from it wherever you will in [ease and] abundance, and enter the gate bowing humbly and say, 'Relieve us of our burdens.' We will [then] forgive your sins for you, and We will increase the doers of good [in goodness and reward]."

فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ رِجْزًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ ﴿٥٩﴾

Fabaddala allatheena <i>th</i>alamoo qawlan ghayra allathee qeela lahum faanzalna AAala allatheena <i>th</i>alamoo rijzan mina alssamai bima kanoo yafsuqoona

تو جو ظالم تھے، انہوں نے اس لفظ کو، جس کا ان کو حکم دیا تھا، بدل کر اس کی جگہ اور لفظ کہنا شروع کیا، پس ہم نے (ان) ظالموں پر آسمان سے عذاب نازل کیا، کیونکہ نافرمانیاں کئے جاتے تھے

But those who wronged changed [those words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them, so We sent down upon those who wronged a punishment from the sky because they were defiantly disobeying.

وَإِذِ ٱسْتَسْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِۦ فَقُلْنَا ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْحَجَرَ فَٱنفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ ٱثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ ﴿٦٠﴾

Waithi istasqa moosa liqawmihi faqulna idrib biAAasaka alhajara fainfajarat minhu ithnata AAashrata AAaynan qad AAalima kullu onasin mashrabahum kuloo waishraboo min rizqi Allahi wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena

اور جب موسیٰ نے اپنی قوم کے لیے (خدا سے) پانی مانگا تو ہم نے کہا کہ اپنی لاٹھی پتھر پر مارو۔ (انہوں نے لاٹھی ماری) تو پھر اس میں سے بارہ چشمے پھوٹ نکلے، اور تمام لوگوں نے اپنا اپنا گھاٹ معلوم کر (کے پانی پی) لیا۔ (ہم نے حکم دیا کہ) خدا کی (عطا فرمائی ہوئی) روزی کھاؤ اور پیو، مگر زمین میں فساد نہ کرتے پھرنا

And [recall] when Moses prayed for water for his people, so We said, "Strike with your staff the stone." And there gushed forth from it twelve springs, and every people knew its watering place. "Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption."

وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نَّصْبِرَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامٍ وَٰحِدٍ فَٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنۢ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّآئِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ ٱلَّذِى هُوَ أَدْنَىٰ بِٱلَّذِى هُوَ خَيْرٌ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ مِصْرًا فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلْتُمْ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ وَٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا۟ وَّكَانُوا۟ يَعْتَدُونَ ﴿٦١﴾

Waith qultum ya moosa lan nasbira AAala taAAamin wahidin faodAAu lana rabbaka yukhrij lana mimma tunbitu alardu min baqliha waqiththaiha wafoomiha waAAadasiha wabasaliha qala atastabdiloona allathee huwa adna biallathee huwa khayrun ihbitoo misran fainna lakum ma saaltum waduribat AAalayhimu alththillatu waalmaskanatu wabaoo bighadabin mina Allahi thalika biannahum kanoo yakfuroona biayati Allahi wayaqtuloona alnnabiyyeena bighayri alhaqqi thalika bima AAasaw wakanoo yaAAtadoona

اور جب تم نے کہا کہ موسیٰ! ہم سے ایک (ہی) کھانے پر صبر نہیں ہو سکتا تو اپنے پروردگار سے دعا کیجئے کہ ترکاری اور ککڑی اور گیہوں اور مسور اور پیاز (وغیرہ) جو نباتات زمین سے اُگتی ہیں، ہمارے لیے پیدا کر دے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بھلا عمدہ چیزیں چھوڑ کر ان کے عوض ناقص چیزیں کیوں چاہتے ہوں۔ (اگر یہی چیزیں مطلوب ہیں) تو کسی شہر میں جا اترو، وہاں جو مانگتے ہو، مل جائے گا۔ اور (آخرکار) ذلت (ورسوائی) اور محتاجی (وبے نوائی) ان سے چمٹا دی گئی اور وہ الله کے غضب میں گرفتار ہو گئے۔ یہ اس لیے کہ وہ الله کی آیتوں سے انکار کرتے تھے اور (اس کے) نبیوں کو ناحق قتل کر دیتے تھے۔ (یعنی) یہ اس لیے کہ نافرمانی کئے جاتے اور حد سے بڑھے جاتے تھے

And [recall] when you said, "O Moses, we can never endure one [kind of] food. So call upon your Lord to bring forth for us from the earth its green herbs and its cucumbers and its garlic and its lentils and its onions." [Moses] said, "Would you exchange what is better for what is less? Go into [any] settlement and indeed, you will have what you have asked." And they were covered with humiliation and poverty and returned with anger from Allah [upon them]. That was because they [repeatedly] disbelieved in the signs of Allah and killed the prophets without right. That was because they disobeyed and were [habitually] transgressing.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ وَٱلصَّٰبِـِٔينَ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ﴿٦٢﴾

Inna allatheena amanoo waallatheena hadoo waalnnasara waalssabieena man amana biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri waAAamila salihan falahum ajruhum AAinda rabbihim wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

جو لوگ مسلمان ہیں یا یہودی یا عیسائی یا ستارہ پرست، (یعنی کوئی شخص کسی قوم و مذہب کا ہو) جو خدا اور روز قیامت پر ایمان لائے گا، اور نیک عمل کرے گا، تو ایسے لوگوں کو ان (کے اعمال) کا صلہ خدا کے ہاں ملے گا اور (قیامت کے دن) ان کو نہ کسی طرح کا خوف ہوگا اور نہ وہ غم ناک ہوں گے

Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ ٱلطُّورَ خُذُوا۟ مَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰكُم بِقُوَّةٍ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ ﴿٦٣﴾

Waith akhathna meethaqakum warafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waothkuroo ma feehi laAAallakum tattaqoona

اور جب ہم نے تم سے عہد (کر) لیا اور کوہِ طُور کو تم پر اٹھا کھڑا کیا (اور حکم دیا) کہ جو کتاب ہم نے تم کو دی ہے، اس کو زور سے پکڑے رہو، اور جو اس میں (لکھا) ہے، اسے یاد رکھو، تاکہ (عذاب سے) محفوظ رہو

And [recall] when We took your covenant, [O Children of Israel, to abide by the Torah] and We raised over you the mount, [saying], "Take what We have given you with determination and remember what is in it that perhaps you may become righteous."

ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَكُنتُم مِّنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ﴿٦٤﴾

Thumma tawallaytum min baAAdi thalika falawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu lakuntum mina alkhasireena

تو تم اس کے بعد (عہد سے) پھر گئے اور اگر تم پر خدا کا فضل اور اس کی مہربانی نہ ہوتی تو تم خسارے میں پڑے گئے ہوتے

Then you turned away after that. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have been among the losers.

وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱعْتَدَوْا۟ مِنكُمْ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا۟ قِرَدَةً خَٰسِـِٔينَ ﴿٦٥﴾

Walaqad AAalimtumu allatheena iAAtadaw minkum fee alssabti faqulna lahum koonoo qiradatan khasieena

اور تم ان لوگوں کو خوب جانتے ہوں، جو تم میں سے ہفتے کے دن (مچھلی کا شکار کرنے) میں حد سے تجاوز کر گئے تھے، تو ہم نے ان سے کہا کہ ذلیل وخوار بندر ہو جاؤ

And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the sabbath, and We said to them, "Be apes, despised."

فَجَعَلْنَٰهَا نَكَٰلًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا وَمَا خَلْفَهَا وَمَوْعِظَةً لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿٦٦﴾

FajaAAalnaha nakalan lima bayna yadayha wama khalfaha wamawAAi<i>th</i>atan lilmuttaqeena

اور اس قصے کو اس وقت کے لوگوں کے لیے اور جو ان کے بعد آنے والے تھے عبرت اور پرہیز گاروں کے لیے نصیحت بنا دیا

And We made it a deterrent punishment for those who were present and those who succeeded [them] and a lesson for those who fear Allah.

وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَن تَذْبَحُوا۟ بَقَرَةً قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَتَّخِذُنَا هُزُوًا قَالَ أَعُوذُ بِٱللَّهِ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَ ﴿٦٧﴾

Waith qala moosa liqawmihi inna Allaha yamurukum an tathbahoo baqaratan qaloo atattakhithuna huzuwan qala aAAoothu biAllahi an akoona mina aljahileena

اور جب موسیٰ نے اپنی قوم کے لوگوں سے کہا کہ خدا تم کو حکم دیتا ہے کہ ایک بیل ذبح کرو۔ وہ بولے، کیا تم ہم سے ہنسی کرتے ہو۔ (موسیٰ نے) کہا کہ میں الله کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں کہ نادان بنوں

And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you take us in ridicule?" He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant."

قَالُوا۟ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا هِىَ قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لَّا فَارِضٌ وَلَا بِكْرٌ عَوَانٌۢ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ فَٱفْعَلُوا۟ مَا تُؤْمَرُونَ ﴿٦٨﴾

Qaloo odAAu lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma hiya qala innahu yaqoolu innaha baqaratun la faridun wala bikrun AAawanun bayna thalika faifAAaloo ma tumaroona

انہوں نے کہا کہ اپنے پروردگار سے التجا کیجئے کہ وہ ہمیں یہ بتائے کہ وہ بیل کس طرح کا ہو۔ (موسیٰ نے) کہا کہ پروردگار فرماتا ہے کہ وہ بیل نہ تو بوڑھا ہو اور نہ بچھڑا، بلکہ ان کے درمیان (یعنی جوان) ہو۔ جیسا تم کو حکم دیا گیا ہے، ویسا کرو

They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is." [Moses] said, "[Allah] says, 'It is a cow which is neither old nor virgin, but median between that,' so do what you are commanded."

قَالُوا۟ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا لَوْنُهَا قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ صَفْرَآءُ فَاقِعٌ لَّوْنُهَا تَسُرُّ ٱلنَّٰظِرِينَ ﴿٦٩﴾

Qaloo odAAu lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma lawnuha qala innahu yaqoolu innaha baqaratun safrao faqiAAun lawnuha tasurru alnna<i>th</i>ireena

انہوں نے کہا کہ پروردگار سے درخواست کیجئے کہ ہم کو یہ بھی بتائے کہ اس کا رنگ کیسا ہو۔ موسیٰ نے کہا، پروردگار فرماتا ہے کہ اس کا رنگ گہرا زرد ہو کہ دیکھنے والوں (کے دل) کو خوش کر دیتا ہو

They said, "Call upon your Lord to show us what is her color." He said, "He says, 'It is a yellow cow, bright in color - pleasing to the observers.' "

قَالُوا۟ ٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُبَيِّن لَّنَا مَا هِىَ إِنَّ ٱلْبَقَرَ تَشَٰبَهَ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنَّآ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَمُهْتَدُونَ ﴿٧٠﴾

Qaloo odAAu lana rabbaka yubayyin lana ma hiya inna albaqara tashabaha AAalayna wainna in shaa Allahu lamuhtadoona

انہوں نے کہا کہ (اب کے) پروردگار سے پھر درخواست کیجئے کہ ہم کو بتا دے کہ وہ اور کس کس طرح کا ہو، کیونکہ بہت سے بیل ہمیں ایک دوسرے کے مشابہ معلوم ہوتے ہیں، (پھر) خدا نے چاہا تو ہمیں ٹھیک بات معلوم ہو جائے گی

They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is. Indeed, [all] cows look alike to us. And indeed we, if Allah wills, will be guided."

قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ يَقُولُ إِنَّهَا بَقَرَةٌ لَّا ذَلُولٌ تُثِيرُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَا تَسْقِى ٱلْحَرْثَ مُسَلَّمَةٌ لَّا شِيَةَ فِيهَا قَالُوا۟ ٱلْـَٰٔنَ جِئْتَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَذَبَحُوهَا وَمَا كَادُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ ﴿٧١﴾

Qala innahu yaqoolu innaha baqaratun la thaloolun tutheeru alarda wala tasqee alhartha musallamatun la shiyata feeha qaloo alana jita bialhaqqi fathabahooha wama kadoo yafAAaloona

موسیٰ نے کہا کہ خدا فرماتا ہے کہ وہ بیل کام میں لگا ہوا نہ ہو، نہ تو زمین جوتتا ہو اور نہ کھیتی کو پانی دیتا ہو۔ اس میں کسی طرح کا داغ نہ ہو۔ کہنے لگے، اب تم نے سب باتیں درست بتا دیں۔ غرض (بڑی مشکل سے) انہوں نے اس بیل کو ذبح کیا، اور وہ ایسا کرنے والے تھے نہیں

He said, "He says, 'It is a cow neither trained to plow the earth nor to irrigate the field, one free from fault with no spot upon her.' " They said, "Now you have come with the truth." So they slaughtered her, but they could hardly do it.

وَإِذْ قَتَلْتُمْ نَفْسًا فَٱدَّٰرَْٰٔتُمْ فِيهَا وَٱللَّهُ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا كُنتُمْ تَكْتُمُونَ ﴿٧٢﴾

Waith qataltum nafsan faiddaratum feeha waAllahu mukhrijun ma kuntum taktumoona

اور جب تم نے ایک شخص کو قتل کیا، تو اس میں باہم جھگڑنے لگے۔ لیکن جو بات تم چھپا رہے تھے، خدا اس کو ظاہر کرنے والا تھا

And [recall] when you slew a man and disputed over it, but Allah was to bring out that which you were concealing.

فَقُلْنَا ٱضْرِبُوهُ بِبَعْضِهَا كَذَٰلِكَ يُحْىِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَيُرِيكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿٧٣﴾

Faqulna idriboohu bibaAAdiha kathalika yuhyee Allahu almawta wayureekum ayatihi laAAallakum taAAqiloona

تو ہم نے کہا کہ اس بیل کا کوئی سا ٹکڑا مقتول کو مارو۔ اس طرح خدا مردوں کو زندہ کرتا ہے اور تم کو اپنی (قدرت کی) نشانیاں دکھاتا ہے تاکہ تم سمجھو

So, We said, "Strike the slain man with part of it." Thus does Allah bring the dead to life, and He shows you His signs that you might reason.

ثُمَّ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَهِىَ كَٱلْحِجَارَةِ أَوْ أَشَدُّ قَسْوَةً وَإِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْحِجَارَةِ لَمَا يَتَفَجَّرُ مِنْهُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَشَّقَّقُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ ٱلْمَآءُ وَإِنَّ مِنْهَا لَمَا يَهْبِطُ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿٧٤﴾

Thumma qasat quloobukum min baAAdi thalika fahiya kaalhijarati aw ashaddu qaswatan wainna mina alhijarati lama yatafajjaru minhu alanharu wainna minha lama yashshaqqaqu fayakhruju minhu almao wainna minha lama yahbitu min khashyati Allahi wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona

پھر اس کے بعد تمہارے دل سخت ہو گئے۔ گویا وہ پتھر ہیں یا ان سے بھی زیادہ سخت۔ اور پتھر تو بعضے ایسے ہوتے ہیں کہ ان میں سے چشمے پھوٹ نکلتے ہیں، اور بعضے ایسے ہوتے ہیں کہ پھٹ جاتے ہیں، اور ان میں سے پانی نکلنے لگتا ہے، اور بعضے ایسے ہوتے ہیں کہ خدا کے خوف سے گر پڑتے ہیں، اور خدا تمہارے عملوں سے بے خبر نہیں

Then your hearts became hardened after that, being like stones or even harder. For indeed, there are stones from which rivers burst forth, and there are some of them that split open and water comes out, and there are some of them that fall down for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

أَفَتَطْمَعُونَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ لَكُمْ وَقَدْ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ كَلَٰمَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُحَرِّفُونَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا عَقَلُوهُ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٧٥﴾

AfatatmaAAoona an yuminoo lakum waqad kana fareequn minhum yasmaAAoona kalama Allahi thumma yuharrifoonahu min baAAdi ma AAaqaloohu wahum yaAAlamoona

(مومنو) کیا تم امید رکھتے ہو کہ یہ لوگ تمہارے (دین کے) قائل ہو جائیں گے، (حالانکہ) ان میں سے کچھ لوگ کلامِ خدا (یعنی تورات) کو سنتے، پھر اس کے سمجھ لینے کے بعد اس کو جان بوجھ کر بدل دیتے رہے ہیں

Do you covet [the hope, O believers], that they would believe for you while a party of them used to hear the words of Allah and then distort the Torah after they had understood it while they were knowing?

وَإِذَا لَقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ قَالُوٓا۟ أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم بِمَا فَتَحَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لِيُحَآجُّوكُم بِهِۦ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿٧٦﴾

Waitha laqoo allatheena amanoo qaloo amanna waitha khala baAAduhum ila baAAdin qaloo atuhaddithoonahum bima fataha Allahu AAalaykum liyuhajjookum bihi AAinda rabbikum afala taAAqiloona

اور یہ لوگ جب مومنوں سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں، ہم ایمان لے آئے ہیں۔ اور جب آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں، جو بات خدا نے تم پر ظاہر فرمائی ہے، وہ تم ان کو اس لیے بتائے دیتے ہو کہ (قیامت کے دن) اسی کے حوالے سے تمہارے پروردگار کے سامنے تم کو الزام دیں۔ کیا تم سمجھتے نہیں؟

And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We have believed"; but when they are alone with one another, they say, "Do you talk to them about what Allah has revealed to you so they can argue with you about it before your Lord?" Then will you not reason?

أَوَلَا يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ﴿٧٧﴾

Awala yaAAlamoona anna Allaha yaAAlamu ma yusirroona wama yuAAlinoona

کیا یہ لوگ یہ نہیں جانتے کہ جو کچھ یہ چھپاتے اور جو کچھ ظاہر کرتے ہیں، خدا کو (سب) معلوم ہے

But do they not know that Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare?

وَمِنْهُمْ أُمِّيُّونَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّآ أَمَانِىَّ وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ ﴿٧٨﴾

Waminhum ommiyyoona la yaAAlamoona alkitaba illa amaniyya wain hum illa ya<i>th</i>unnoona

اور بعض ان میں ان پڑھ ہیں کہ اپنے باطل خیالات کے سوا (خدا کی) کتاب سے واقف ہی نہیں اور وہ صرف ظن سے کام لیتے ہیں

And among them are unlettered ones who do not know the Scripture except in wishful thinking, but they are only assuming.

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَكْتُبُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هَٰذَا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَشْتَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا فَوَيْلٌ لَّهُم مِّمَّا كَتَبَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَوَيْلٌ لَّهُم مِّمَّا يَكْسِبُونَ ﴿٧٩﴾

Fawaylun lillatheena yaktuboona alkitaba biaydeehim thumma yaqooloona hatha min AAindi Allahi liyashtaroo bihi thamanan qaleelan fawaylun lahum mimma katabat aydeehim wawaylun lahum mimma yaksiboona

تو ان لوگوں پر افسوس ہے جو اپنے ہاتھ سے تو کتاب لکھتے ہیں اور کہتے یہ ہیں کہ یہ خدا کے پاس سے (آئی) ہے، تاکہ اس کے عوض تھوڑی سے قیمت (یعنی دنیوی منفعت) حاصل کریں۔ ان پر افسوس ہے، اس لیے کہ (بےاصل باتیں) اپنے ہاتھ سے لکھتے ہیں اور (پھر) ان پر افسوس ہے، اس لیے کہ ایسے کام کرتے ہیں

So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allah," in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn.

وَقَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَةً قُلْ أَتَّخَذْتُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَهْدًا فَلَن يُخْلِفَ ٱللَّهُ عَهْدَهُۥٓ أَمْ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٨٠﴾

Waqaloo lan tamassana alnnaru illa ayyaman maAAdoodatan qul attakhathtum AAinda Allahi AAahdan falan yukhlifa Allahu AAahdahu am taqooloona AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

اور کہتے ہیں کہ (دوزخ کی) آگ ہمیں چند روز کے سوا چھو ہی نہیں سکے گی۔ ان سے پوچھو، کیا تم نے خدا سے اقرار لے رکھا ہے کہ خدا اپنے اقرار کے خلاف نہیں کرے گا۔ (نہیں)، بلکہ تم خدا کے بارے میں ایسی باتیں کہتے ہو جن کا تمہیں مطلق علم نہیں

And they say, "Never will the Fire touch us, except for a few days." Say, "Have you taken a covenant with Allah? For Allah will never break His covenant. Or do you say about Allah that which you do not know?"

بَلَىٰ مَن كَسَبَ سَيِّئَةً وَأَحَٰطَتْ بِهِۦ خَطِيٓـَٔتُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ﴿٨١﴾

Bala man kasaba sayyiatan waahatat bihi khateeatuhu faolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

ہاں جو برے کام کرے، اور اس کے گناہ (ہر طرف سے) گھیر لیں تو ایسے لوگ دوزخ (میں جانے) والے ہیں (اور) وہ ہمیشہ اس میں (جلتے) رہیں گے

Yes, whoever earns evil and his sin has encompassed him - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ﴿٨٢﴾

Waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati olaika ashabu aljannati hum feeha khalidoona

اور جو ایمان لائیں اور نیک کام کریں، وہ جنت کے مالک ہوں گے (اور) ہمیشہ اس میں (عیش کرتے) رہیں گے

But they who believe and do righteous deeds - those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally.

وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ لَا تَعْبُدُونَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا وَذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَقُولُوا۟ لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنًا وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّنكُمْ وَأَنتُم مُّعْرِضُونَ ﴿٨٣﴾

Waith akhathna meethaqa banee israeela la taAAbudoona illa Allaha wabialwalidayni ihsanan wathee alqurba waalyatama waalmasakeeni waqooloo lilnnasi husnan waaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata thumma tawallaytum illa qaleelan minkum waantum muAAridoona

اور جب ہم نے بنی اسرائیل سے عہد لیا کہ خدا کے سوا کسی کی عبادت نہ کرنا اور ماں باپ اور رشتہ داروں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں کے ساتھ بھلائی کرتے رہنا اور لوگوں سے اچھی باتیں کہنا، اور نماز پڑھتے اور زکوٰة دیتے رہنا، تو چند شخصوں کے سوا تم سب (اس عہد سے) منہ پھیر کر پھر بیٹھے

And [recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining upon them], "Do not worship except Allah; and to parents do good and to relatives, orphans, and the needy. And speak to people good [words] and establish prayer and give zakah." Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing.

وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَكُمْ لَا تَسْفِكُونَ دِمَآءَكُمْ وَلَا تُخْرِجُونَ أَنفُسَكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ ﴿٨٤﴾

Waith akhathna meethaqakum la tasfikoona dimaakum wala tukhrijoona anfusakum min diyarikum thumma aqrartum waantum tashhadoona

اور جب ہم نے تم سے عہد لیا کہ آپس میں کشت وخون نہ کرنا اور اپنے کو ان کے وطن سے نہ نکالنا تو تم نے اقرار کر لیا، اور تم (اس بات کے) گواہ ہو

And [recall] when We took your covenant, [saying], "Do not shed each other's blood or evict one another from your homes." Then you acknowledged [this] while you were witnessing.

ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَتُخْرِجُونَ فَرِيقًا مِّنكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِهِمْ تَظَٰهَرُونَ عَلَيْهِم بِٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ وَإِن يَأْتُوكُمْ أُسَٰرَىٰ تُفَٰدُوهُمْ وَهُوَ مُحَرَّمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ إِخْرَاجُهُمْ أَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍ فَمَا جَزَآءُ مَن يَفْعَلُ ذَٰلِكَ مِنكُمْ إِلَّا خِزْىٌ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰٓ أَشَدِّ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿٨٥﴾

Thumma antum haolai taqtuloona anfusakum watukhrijoona fareeqan minkum min diyarihim ta<i>th</i>aharoona AAalayhim bialithmi waalAAudwani wain yatookum osara tufadoohum wahuwa muharramun AAalaykum ikhrajuhum afatuminoona bibaAAdi alkitabi watakfuroona bibaAAdin fama jazao man yafAAalu thalika minkum illa khizyun fee alhayati alddunya wayawma alqiyamati yuraddoona ila ashaddi alAAathabi wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona

پھر تم وہی ہو کہ اپنوں کو قتل بھی کر دیتے ہو اور اپنے میں سے بعض لوگوں پر گناہ اور ظلم سے چڑھائی کرکے انہیں وطن سے نکال بھی دیتے ہو، اور اگر وہ تمہارے پاس قید ہو کر آئیں تو بدلہ دے کر ان کو چھڑا بھی لیتے ہو، حالانکہ ان کا نکال دینا ہی تم کو حرام تھا۔ (یہ) کیا (بات ہے کہ) تم کتابِ (خدا) کے بعض احکام کو تو مانتے ہو اور بعض سے انکار کئے دیتے ہو، تو جو تم میں سے ایسی حرکت کریں، ان کی سزا اس کے سوا اور کیا ہو سکتی ہے کہ دنیا کی زندگی میں تو رسوائی ہو اور قیامت کے دن سخت سے سخت عذاب میں ڈال دیئے جائیں اور جو کام تم کرتے ہو، خدا ان سے غافل نہیں

Then, you are those [same ones who are] killing one another and evicting a party of your people from their homes, cooperating against them in sin and aggression. And if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, although their eviction was forbidden to you. So do you believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part? Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life; and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the severest of punishment. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ﴿٨٦﴾

Olaika allatheena ishtarawoo alhayata alddunya bialakhirati fala yukhaffafu AAanhumu alAAathabu wala hum yunsaroona

یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے آخرت کے بدلے دنیا کی زندگی خریدی۔ سو نہ تو ان سے عذاب ہی ہلکا کیا جائے گا اور نہ ان کو (اور طرح کی) مدد ملے گی

Those are the ones who have bought the life of this world [in exchange] for the Hereafter, so the punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be aided.

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ بِٱلرُّسُلِ وَءَاتَيْنَا عِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَيَّدْنَٰهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلْقُدُسِ أَفَكُلَّمَا جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَهْوَىٰٓ أَنفُسُكُمُ ٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ فَفَرِيقًا كَذَّبْتُمْ وَفَرِيقًا تَقْتُلُونَ ﴿٨٧﴾

Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba waqaffayna min baAAdihi bialrrusuli waatayna AAeesa ibna maryama albayyinati waayyadnahu biroohi alqudusi afakullama jaakum rasoolun bima la tahwa anfusukumu istakbartum fafareeqan kaththabtum wafareeqan taqtuloona

اور ہم نے موسیٰ کو کتاب عنایت کی اور ان کے پیچھے یکے بعد دیگرے پیغمبر بھیجتے رہے اور عیسیٰ بن مریم کو کھلے نشانات بخشے اور روح القدس (یعنی جبرئیل) سے ان کو مدد دی۔تو جب کوئی پیغمبر تمہارے پاس ایسی باتیں لے کر آئے، جن کو تمہارا جی نہیں چاہتا تھا، تو تم سرکش ہو جاتے رہے، اور ایک گروہ (انبیاء) کو تو جھٹلاتے رہے اور ایک گروہ کو قتل کرتے رہے

And We did certainly give Moses the Torah and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit. But is it [not] that every time a messenger came to you, [O Children of Israel], with what your souls did not desire, you were arrogant? And a party [of messengers] you denied and another party you killed.

وَقَالُوا۟ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌۢ بَل لَّعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَقَلِيلًا مَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿٨٨﴾

Waqaloo quloobuna ghulfun bal laAAanahumu Allahu bikufrihim faqaleelan ma yuminoona

اور کہتے ہیں، ہمارے دل پردے میں ہیں۔ (نہیں) بلکہ الله نے ان کے کفر کے سبب ان پر لعنت کر رکھی ہے۔ پس یہ تھوڑے ہی پر ایمان لاتے ہیں

And they said, "Our hearts are wrapped." But, [in fact], Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so little is it that they believe.

وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ كِتَٰبٌ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ وَكَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ يَسْتَفْتِحُونَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم مَّا عَرَفُوا۟ كَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَلَعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿٨٩﴾

Walamma jaahum kitabun min AAindi Allahi musaddiqun lima maAAahum wakanoo min qablu yastaftihoona AAala allatheena kafaroo falamma jaahum ma AAarafoo kafaroo bihi falaAAnatu Allahi AAala alkafireena

اور جب الله کے ہاں سے ان کے پاس کتاب آئی جو ان کی (آسمانی) کتاب کی بھی تصدیق کرتی ہے، اور وہ پہلے (ہمیشہ) کافروں پر فتح مانگا کرتے تھے، تو جس چیز کو وہ خوب پہچانتے تھے، جب ان کے پاس آپہنچی تو اس سے کافر ہو گئے۔ پس کافروں پر الله کی لعنت

And when there came to them a Book from Allah confirming that which was with them - although before they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieved - but [then] when there came to them that which they recognized, they disbelieved in it; so the curse of Allah will be upon the disbelievers.

بِئْسَمَا ٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنفُسَهُمْ أَن يَكْفُرُوا۟ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بَغْيًا أَن يُنَزِّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ فَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ عَلَىٰ غَضَبٍ وَلِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ ﴿٩٠﴾

Bisama ishtaraw bihi anfusahum an yakfuroo bima anzala Allahu baghyan an yunazzila Allahu min fadlihi AAala man yashao min AAibadihi fabaoo bighadabin AAala ghadabin walilkafireena AAathabun muheenun

جس چیز کے بدلے انہوں نے اپنے تئیں بیچ ڈالا، وہ بہت بری ہے، یعنی اس جلن سے کہ خدا اپنے بندوں میں جس پر چاہتا ہے، اپنی مہربانی سے نازل فرماتا ہے۔ خدا کی نازل کی ہوئی کتاب سے کفر کرنے لگے تو وہ (اس کے) غضب بالائے غضب میں مبتلا ہو گئے۔ اور کافروں کے لیے ذلیل کرنے والا عذاب ہے

How wretched is that for which they sold themselves - that they would disbelieve in what Allah has revealed through [their] outrage that Allah would send down His favor upon whom He wills from among His servants. So they returned having [earned] wrath upon wrath. And for the disbelievers is a humiliating punishment.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُوا۟ نُؤْمِنُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَيَكْفُرُونَ بِمَا وَرَآءَهُۥ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ قُلْ فَلِمَ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنۢبِيَآءَ ٱللَّهِ مِن قَبْلُ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٩١﴾

Waitha qeela lahum aminoo bima anzala Allahu qaloo numinu bima onzila AAalayna wayakfuroona bima waraahu wahuwa alhaqqu musaddiqan lima maAAahum qul falima taqtuloona anbiyaa Allahi min qablu in kuntum mumineena

اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ جو (کتاب) خدا نے (اب) نازل فرمائی ہے، اس کو مانو۔ تو کہتے ہیں کہ جو کتاب ہم پر (پہلے) نازل ہو چکی ہے، ہم تو اسی کو مانتے ہیں۔ (یعنی) یہ اس کے سوا کسی اور (کتاب) کو نہیں مانتے، حالانکہ وہ (سراسر) سچی ہے اور جو ان کی (آسمانی) کتاب ہے، اس کی بھی تصدیق کرتی ہے۔ (ان سے) کہہ دو کہ اگر تم صاحبِ ایمان ہوتے تو الله کے پیغمبروں کو پہلے ہی کیوں قتل کیا کرتے

And when it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah has revealed," they say, "We believe [only] in what was revealed to us." And they disbelieve in what came after it, while it is the truth confirming that which is with them. Say, "Then why did you kill the prophets of Allah before, if you are [indeed] believers?"

وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكُم مُّوسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَنتُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ ﴿٩٢﴾

Walaqad jaakum moosa bialbayyinati thumma ittakhathtumu alAAijla min baAAdihi waantum <i>th</i>alimoona

اور موسیٰ تمہارے پاس کھلے ہوئے معجزات لے کر آئے تو تم ان کے (کوہِ طور جانے کے) بعد بچھڑے کو معبود بنا بیٹھے اور تم (اپنے ہی حق میں) ظلم کرتے تھے

And Moses had certainly brought you clear proofs. Then you took the calf [in worship] after that, while you were wrongdoers.

وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَكُمْ وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ ٱلطُّورَ خُذُوا۟ مَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰكُم بِقُوَّةٍ وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا وَعَصَيْنَا وَأُشْرِبُوا۟ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ بِكُفْرِهِمْ قُلْ بِئْسَمَا يَأْمُرُكُم بِهِۦٓ إِيمَٰنُكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٩٣﴾

Waith akhathna meethaqakum warafaAAna fawqakumu alttoora khuthoo ma ataynakum biquwwatin waismaAAoo qaloo samiAAna waAAasayna waoshriboo fee quloobihimu alAAijla bikufrihim qul bisama yamurukum bihi eemanukum in kuntum mumineena

اور جب ہم نے تم (لوگوں) سے عہد واثق لیا اور کوہ طور کو تم پر اٹھا کھڑا کیا (اور حکم دیا کہ) جو (کتاب) ہم نے تم کو دی ہے، اس کو زور سے پکڑو اور جو تمہیں حکم ہوتا ہے (اس کو) سنو تو وہ (جو تمہارے بڑے تھے) کہنے لگے کہ ہم نے سن تو لیا لیکن مانتے نہیں۔ اور ان کے کفر کے سبب بچھڑا (گویا) ان کے دلوں میں رچ گیا تھا۔ (اے پیغمبر ان سے) کہہ دو کہ اگر تم مومن ہو تو تمہارا ایمان تم کو بری بات بتاتا ہے

And [recall] when We took your covenant and raised over you the mount, [saying], "Take what We have given you with determination and listen." They said [instead], "We hear and disobey." And their hearts absorbed [the worship of] the calf because of their disbelief. Say, "How wretched is that which your faith enjoins upon you, if you should be believers."

قُلْ إِن كَانَتْ لَكُمُ ٱلدَّارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَالِصَةً مِّن دُونِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَتَمَنَّوُا۟ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿٩٤﴾

Qul in kanat lakumu alddaru alakhiratu AAinda Allahi khalisatan min dooni alnnasi fatamannawoo almawta in kuntum sadiqeena

کہہ دو کہ اگر آخرت کا گھر اور لوگوں (یعنی مسلمانوں) کے لیے نہیں اور خدا کے نزدیک تمہارے ہی لیے مخصوص ہے تو اگر سچے ہو تو موت کی آرزو تو کرو

Say, [O Muhammad], "If the home of the Hereafter with Allah is for you alone and not the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful.

وَلَن يَتَمَنَّوْهُ أَبَدًۢا بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿٩٥﴾

Walan yatamannawhu abadan bima qaddamat aydeehim waAllahu AAaleemun bial<i>thth</i>alimeena

لیکن ان اعمال کی وجہ سے، جو ان کے ہاتھ آگے بھیج چکے ہیں، یہ کبھی اس کی آرزو نہیں کریں گے، اور خدا ظالموں سے (خوب) واقف ہے

But they will never wish for it, ever, because of what their hands have put forth. And Allah is Knowing of the wrongdoers.

وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَوٰةٍ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿٩٦﴾

Walatajidannahum ahrasa alnnasi AAala hayatin wamina allatheena ashrakoo yawaddu ahaduhum law yuAAammaru alfa sanatin wama huwa bimuzahzihihi mina alAAathabi an yuAAammara waAllahu baseerun bima yaAAmaloona

بلکہ ان کو تم اور لوگوں سے زندگی کے کہیں حریص دیکھو گے، یہاں تک کہ مشرکوں سے بھی۔ ان میں سے ہر ایک یہی خواہش کرتا ہے کہ کاش وہ ہزار برس جیتا رہے، مگر اتنی لمبی عمر اس کو مل بھی جائے تو اسے عذاب سے تو نہیں چھڑا سکتی۔ اور جو کام یہ کرتے ہیں، خدا ان کو دیکھ رہا ہے

And you will surely find them the most greedy of people for life - [even] more than those who associate others with Allah. One of them wishes that he could be granted life a thousand years, but it would not remove him in the least from the [coming] punishment that he should be granted life. And Allah is Seeing of what they do.

قُلْ مَن كَانَ عَدُوًّا لِّجِبْرِيلَ فَإِنَّهُۥ نَزَّلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَهُدًى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٩٧﴾

Qul man kana AAaduwwan lijibreela fainnahu nazzalahu AAala qalbika biithni Allahi musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi wahudan wabushra lilmumineena

کہہ دو کہ جو شخص جبرئیل کا دشمن ہو (اس کو غصے میں مر جانا چاہیئے) اس نے تو (یہ کتاب) خدا کے حکم سے تمہارے دل پر نازل کی ہے جو پہلی کتابوں کی تصدیق کرتی ہے، اور ایمان والوں کے لیے ہدایت اور بشارت ہے

Say, "Whoever is an enemy to Gabriel - it is [none but] he who has brought the Qur'an down upon your heart, [O Muhammad], by permission of Allah, confirming that which was before it and as guidance and good tidings for the believers."

مَن كَانَ عَدُوًّا لِّلَّهِ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَجِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَىٰلَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَدُوٌّ لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿٩٨﴾

Man kana AAaduwwan lillahi wamalaikatihi warusulihi wajibreela wameekala fainna Allaha AAaduwwun lilkafireena

جو شخص خدا کا اور اس کے فرشتوں کا اور اس کے پیغمبروں کا اور جبرئیل اور میکائیل کا دشمن ہو تو ایسے کافروں کا خدا دشمن ہے

Whoever is an enemy to Allah and His angels and His messengers and Gabriel and Michael - then indeed, Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers.

وَلَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ءَايَٰتٍۭ بَيِّنَٰتٍ وَمَا يَكْفُرُ بِهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ ﴿٩٩﴾

Walaqad anzalna ilayka ayatin bayyinatin wama yakfuru biha illa alfasiqoona

اور ہم نے تمہارے پاس سلجھی ہوئی آیتیں ارسال فرمائی ہیں، اور ان سے انکار وہی کرتے ہیں جو بدکار ہیں

And We have certainly revealed to you verses [which are] clear proofs, and no one would deny them except the defiantly disobedient.

أَوَكُلَّمَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ عَهْدًا نَّبَذَهُۥ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١٠٠﴾

Awakullama AAahadoo AAahdan nabathahu fareequn minhum bal aktharuhum la yuminoona

ان لوگوں نے جب (خدا سے) عہد واثق کیا تو ان میں سے ایک فریق نے اس کو (کسی چیز کی طرح) پھینک دیا۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ ان میں اکثر بے ایمان ہیں

Is it not [true] that every time they took a covenant a party of them threw it away? But, [in fact], most of them do not believe.

وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ كِتَٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٠١﴾

Walamma jaahum rasoolun min AAindi Allahi musaddiqun lima maAAahum nabatha fareequn mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba kitaba Allahi waraa <i>th</i>uhoorihim kaannahum la yaAAlamoona

اور جب ان کے پاس الله کی طرف سے پیغمبر (آخرالزماں) آئے، اور وہ ان کی (آسمانی) کتاب کی بھی تصدیق کرتے ہیں تو جن لوگوں کو کتاب دی گئی تھی، ان میں سے ایک جماعت نے خدا کی کتاب کو پیٹھ پیچھے پھینک دیا، گویا وہ جانتے ہی نہیں

And when a messenger from Allah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained].

وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَا تَتْلُوا۟ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ عَلَىٰ مُلْكِ سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَمَا كَفَرَ سُلَيْمَٰنُ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ ٱلسِّحْرَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلْمَلَكَيْنِ بِبَابِلَ هَٰرُوتَ وَمَٰرُوتَ وَمَا يُعَلِّمَانِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَآ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ فِتْنَةٌ فَلَا تَكْفُرْ فَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مِنْهُمَا مَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِۦ بَيْنَ ٱلْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِۦ وَمَا هُم بِضَآرِّينَ بِهِۦ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَتَعَلَّمُونَ مَا يَضُرُّهُمْ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمُوا۟ لَمَنِ ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مَا لَهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ مِنْ خَلَٰقٍ وَلَبِئْسَ مَا شَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَنفُسَهُمْ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٠٢﴾

WaittabaAAoo ma tatloo alshshayateenu AAala mulki sulaymana wama kafara sulaymanu walakinna alshshayateena kafaroo yuAAallimoona alnnasa alssihra wama onzila AAala almalakayni bibabila haroota wamaroota wama yuAAallimani min ahadin hatta yaqoola innama nahnu fitnatun fala takfur fayataAAallamoona minhuma ma yufarriqoona bihi bayna almari wazawjihi wama hum bidarreena bihi min ahadin illa biithni Allahi wayataAAallamoona ma yadurruhum wala yanfaAAuhum walaqad AAalimoo lamani ishtarahu ma lahu fee alakhirati min khalaqin walabisa ma sharaw bihi anfusahum law kanoo yaAAlamoona

اور ان (ہزلیات) کے پیچھے لگ گئے جو سلیمان کے عہدِ سلطنت میں شیاطین پڑھا کرتے تھے اور سلیمان نے مطلق کفر کی بات نہیں کی، بلکہ شیطان ہی کفر کرتے تھے کہ لوگوں کو جادو سکھاتے تھے۔ اور ان باتوں کے بھی (پیچھے لگ گئے) جو شہر بابل میں دو فرشتوں (یعنی) ہاروت اور ماروت پر اتری تھیں۔ اور وہ دونوں کسی کو کچھ نہیں سکھاتے تھے، جب تک یہ نہ کہہ دیتے کہ ہم تو (ذریعہٴ) آزمائش ہیں۔ تم کفر میں نہ پڑو۔ غرض لوگ ان سے (ایسا) جادو سیکھتے، جس سے میاں بیوی میں جدائی ڈال دیں۔ اور خدا کے حکم کے سوا وہ اس (جادو) سے کسی کا کچھ بھی نہیں بگاڑ سکتے تھے۔ اور کچھ ایسے (منتر) سیکھتے جو ان کو نقصان ہی پہنچاتے اور فائدہ کچھ نہ دیتے۔ اور وہ جانتے تھے کہ جو شخص ایسی چیزوں (یعنی سحر اور منتر وغیرہ) کا خریدار ہوگا، اس کا آخرت میں کچھ حصہ نہیں۔ اور جس چیز کے عوض انہوں نے اپنی جانوں کو بیچ ڈالا، وہ بری تھی۔ کاش وہ (اس بات کو) جانتے

And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah. And the people learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.

وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ لَمَثُوبَةٌ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٠٣﴾

Walaw annahum amanoo waittaqaw lamathoobatun min AAindi Allahi khayrun law kanoo yaAAlamoona

اور اگر وہ ایمان لاتے اور پرہیز گاری کرتے تو خدا کے ہاں سے بہت اچھا صلہ ملتا۔ اے کاش، وہ اس سے واقف ہوتے

And if they had believed and feared Allah, then the reward from Allah would have been [far] better, if they only knew.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَقُولُوا۟ رَٰعِنَا وَقُولُوا۟ ٱنظُرْنَا وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ وَلِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿١٠٤﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la taqooloo raAAina waqooloo on<i>th</i>urna waismaAAoo walilkafireena AAathabun aleemun

اے اہل ایمان! (گفتگو کے وقت پیغمبرِ خدا سے) راعنا نہ کہا کرو۔ انظرنا کہا کرو۔ اور خوب سن رکھو، اور کافروں کے لیے دکھ دینے والا عذاب ہے

O you who have believed, say not [to Allah 's Messenger], "Ra'ina" but say, "Unthurna" and listen. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.

مَّا يَوَدُّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَلَا ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ﴿١٠٥﴾

Ma yawaddu allatheena kafaroo min ahli alkitabi wala almushrikeena an yunazzala AAalaykum min khayrin min rabbikum waAllahu yakhtassu birahmatihi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAa<i>th</i>eemi

جو لوگ کافر ہیں، اہل کتاب یا مشرک وہ اس بات کو پسند نہیں کرتے کہ تم پر تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے خیر (وبرکت) نازل ہو۔ اور خدا تو جس کو چاہتا ہے، اپنی رحمت کے ساتھ خاص کر لیتا ہے اور خدا بڑے فضل کا مالک ہے

Neither those who disbelieve from the People of the Scripture nor the polytheists wish that any good should be sent down to you from your Lord. But Allah selects for His mercy whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.

مَا نَنسَخْ مِنْ ءَايَةٍ أَوْ نُنسِهَا نَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ مِّنْهَآ أَوْ مِثْلِهَآ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿١٠٦﴾

Ma nansakh min ayatin aw nunsiha nati bikhayrin minha aw mithliha alam taAAlam anna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

ہم جس آیت کو منسوخ کر دیتے یا اسے فراموش کرا دیتے ہیں تو اس سے بہتر یا ویسی ہی اور آیت بھیج دیتے ہیں۔ کیا تم نہیں جانتے کہ خدا ہر بات پر قادر ہے

We do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten except that We bring forth [one] better than it or similar to it. Do you not know that Allah is over all things competent?

أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ ﴿١٠٧﴾

Alam taAAlam anna Allaha lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi wama lakum min dooni Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin

تمہیں معلوم نہیں کہ آسمانوں اور زمین کی بادشاہت خدا ہی کی ہے، اور خدا کے سوا تمہارا کوئی دوست اور مدد گار نہیں

Do you not know that to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and [that] you have not besides Allah any protector or any helper?

أَمْ تُرِيدُونَ أَن تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ رَسُولَكُمْ كَمَا سُئِلَ مُوسَىٰ مِن قَبْلُ وَمَن يَتَبَدَّلِ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ﴿١٠٨﴾

Am tureedoona an tasaloo rasoolakum kama suila moosa min qablu waman yatabaddali alkufra bialeemani faqad dalla sawaa alssabeeli

کیا تم یہ چاہتے ہو کہ اپنے پیغمبر سے اسی طرح کے سوال کرو، جس طرح کے سوال پہلے موسیٰ سے کئے گئے تھے۔ اور جس شخص نے ایمان (چھوڑ کر اس) کے بدلے کفر لیا، وہ سیدھے رستے سے بھٹک گیا

Or do you intend to ask your Messenger as Moses was asked before? And whoever exchanges faith for disbelief has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way.

وَدَّ كَثِيرٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يَرُدُّونَكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كُفَّارًا حَسَدًا مِّنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِهِم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَٱعْفُوا۟ وَٱصْفَحُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِىَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿١٠٩﴾

Wadda katheerun min ahli alkitabi law yaruddoonakum min baAAdi eemanikum kuffaran hasadan min AAindi anfusihim min baAAdi ma tabayyana lahumu alhaqqu faoAAfoo waisfahoo hatta yatiya Allahu biamrihi inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

بہت سے اہل کتاب اپنے دل کی جلن سے یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ ایمان لا چکنے کے بعد تم کو پھر کافر بنا دیں۔ حالانکہ ان پر حق ظاہر ہو چکا ہے۔ تو تم معاف کردو اور درگزر کرو۔ یہاں تک کہ خدا اپنا (دوسرا) حکم بھیجے۔ بے شک خدا ہر بات پر قادر ہے

Many of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves [even] after the truth has become clear to them. So pardon and overlook until Allah delivers His command. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.

وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ ﴿١١٠﴾

Waaqeemoo alssalata waatoo alzzakata wama tuqaddimoo lianfusikum min khayrin tajidoohu AAinda Allahi inna Allaha bima taAAmaloona baseerun

اور نماز ادا کرتے رہو اور زکوٰة دیتے رہو۔ اور جو بھلائی اپنے لیے آگے بھیج رکھو گے، اس کو خدا کے ہاں پا لو گے۔ کچھ شک نہیں کہ خدا تمہارے سب کاموں کو دیکھ رہا ہے

And establish prayer and give zakah, and whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. Indeed, Allah of what you do, is Seeing.

وَقَالُوا۟ لَن يَدْخُلَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَن كَانَ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ تِلْكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمْ قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿١١١﴾

Waqaloo lan yadkhula aljannata illa man kana hoodan aw nasara tilka amaniyyuhum qul hatoo burhanakum in kuntum sadiqeena

اور (یہودی اور عیسائی) کہتے ہیں کہ یہودیوں اور عیسائیوں کے سوا کوئی بہشت میں نہیں جانے کا۔ یہ ان لوگوں کے خیالاتِ باطل ہیں۔ (اے پیغمبر ان سے) کہہ دو کہ اگر سچے ہو تو دلیل پیش کرو

And they say, "None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian." That is [merely] their wishful thinking, Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."

بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ فَلَهُۥٓ أَجْرُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ﴿١١٢﴾

Bala man aslama wajhahu lillahi wahuwa muhsinun falahu ajruhu AAinda rabbihi wala khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

ہاں جو شخص خدا کے آگے گردن جھکا دے، (یعنی ایمان لے آئے) اور وہ نیکو کار بھی ہو تو اس کا صلہ اس کے پروردگار کے پاس ہے اور ایسے لوگوں کو (قیامت کے دن) نہ کسی طرح کا خوف ہوگا اور نہ وہ غمناک ہوں گے

Yes [on the contrary], whoever submits his face in Islam to Allah while being a doer of good will have his reward with his Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

وَقَالَتِ ٱلْيَهُودُ لَيْسَتِ ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ لَيْسَتِ ٱلْيَهُودُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَهُمْ يَتْلُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ فَٱللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ ﴿١١٣﴾

Waqalati alyahoodu laysati alnnasara AAala shayin waqalati alnnasara laysati alyahoodu AAala shayin wahum yatloona alkitaba kathalika qala allatheena la yaAAlamoona mithla qawlihim faAllahu yahkumu baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona

اور یہودی کہتے ہیں کہ عیسائی رستے پر نہیں اور عیسائی کہتے ہیں کہ یہودی رستے پر نہیں۔ حالانکہ وہ کتاب (الہٰی) پڑھتے ہیں۔ اسی طرح بالکل انہی کی سی بات وہ لوگ کہتے ہیں جو (کچھ) نہیں جانتے (یعنی مشرک) تو جس بات میں یہ لوگ اختلاف کر رہے خدا قیامت کے دن اس کا ان میں فیصلہ کر دے گا

The Jews say "The Christians have nothing [true] to stand on," and the Christians say, "The Jews have nothing to stand on," although they [both] recite the Scripture. Thus the polytheists speak the same as their words. But Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن مَّنَعَ مَسَٰجِدَ ٱللَّهِ أَن يُذْكَرَ فِيهَا ٱسْمُهُۥ وَسَعَىٰ فِى خَرَابِهَآ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَا كَانَ لَهُمْ أَن يَدْخُلُوهَآ إِلَّا خَآئِفِينَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا خِزْىٌ وَلَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ ﴿١١٤﴾

Waman a<i>th</i>lamu mimman manaAAa masajida Allahi an yuthkara feeha ismuhu wasaAAa fee kharabiha olaika ma kana lahum an yadkhulooha illa khaifeena lahum fee alddunya khizyun walahum fee alakhirati AAathabun AAa<i>th</i>eemun

اور اس سے بڑھ کر ظالم کون، جو خدا کی مسجدوں میں خدا کے نام کا ذکر کئے جانے کو منع کرے اور ان کی ویرانی میں ساعی ہو۔ان لوگوں کو کچھ حق نہیں کہ ان میں داخل ہوں، مگر ڈرتے ہوئے۔ ان کے لیے دنیا میں رسوائی ہے اور آخرت میں بڑا عذاب

And who are more unjust than those who prevent the name of Allah from being mentioned in His mosques and strive toward their destruction. It is not for them to enter them except in fear. For them in this world is disgrace, and they will have in the Hereafter a great punishment.

وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْمَشْرِقُ وَٱلْمَغْرِبُ فَأَيْنَمَا تُوَلُّوا۟ فَثَمَّ وَجْهُ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴿١١٥﴾

Walillahi almashriqu waalmaghribu faaynama tuwalloo fathamma wajhu Allahi inna Allaha wasiAAun AAaleemun

اور مشرق اور مغرب سب خدا ہی کا ہے۔ تو جدھر تم رخ کرو۔ ادھر خدا کی ذات ہے۔ بے شک خدا صاحبِ وسعت اور باخبر ہے

And to Allah belongs the east and the west. So wherever you [might] turn, there is the Face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَدًا سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ بَل لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ كُلٌّ لَّهُۥ قَٰنِتُونَ ﴿١١٦﴾

Waqaloo itakhatha Allahu waladan subhanahu bal lahu ma fee alssamawati waalardi kullun lahu qanitoona

اور یہ لوگ اس بات کے قائل ہیں کہ خدا اولاد رکھتا ہے۔ (نہیں) وہ پاک ہے، بلکہ جو کچھ آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے، سب اسی کا ہے اور سب اس کے فرماں بردار ہیں

They say, "Allah has taken a son." Exalted is He! Rather, to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. All are devoutly obedient to Him,

بَدِيعُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ ﴿١١٧﴾

BadeeAAu alssamawati waalardi waitha qada amran fainnama yaqoolu lahu kun fayakoonu

(وہی) آسمانوں اور زمین کا پیدا کرنے والاہے۔ جب کوئی کام کرنا چاہتا ہے تو اس کو ارشاد فرما دیتا ہے کہ ہوجا تو وہ ہو جاتا ہے.

Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ لَوْلَا يُكَلِّمُنَا ٱللَّهُ أَوْ تَأْتِينَآ ءَايَةٌ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ تَشَٰبَهَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ ﴿١١٨﴾

Waqala allatheena la yaAAlamoona lawla yukallimuna Allahu aw tateena ayatun kathalika qala allatheena min qablihim mithla qawlihim tashabahat quloobuhum qad bayyanna alayati liqawmin yooqinoona

اور جو لوگ (کچھ) نہیں جانتے (یعنی مشرک) وہ کہتے ہیں کہ خدا ہم سے کلام کیوں نہیں کرتا۔ یا ہمارے پاس کوئی نشانی کیوں نہیں آتی۔ اسی طرح جو لوگ ان سے پہلے تھے، وہ بھی انہی کی سی باتیں کیا کرتے تھے۔ ان لوگوں کے دل آپس میں ملتے جلتے ہیں۔ جو لوگ صاحبِ یقین ہیں، ان کے (سمجھانے کے) لیے نشانیاں بیان کردی ہیں

Those who do not know say, "Why does Allah not speak to us or there come to us a sign?" Thus spoke those before them like their words. Their hearts resemble each other. We have shown clearly the signs to a people who are certain [in faith].

إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُ عَنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ﴿١١٩﴾

Inna arsalnaka bialhaqqi basheeran wanatheeran wala tusalu Aaan ashabi aljaheemi

(اے محمدﷺ) ہم نے تم کو سچائی کے ساتھ خوشخبری سنانے والا اور ڈرانے والا بنا کر بھیجا ہے۔ اور اہل دوزخ کے بارے میں تم سے کچھ پرسش نہیں ہوگی

Indeed, We have sent you, [O Muhammad], with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner, and you will not be asked about the companions of Hellfire.

وَلَن تَرْضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلْيَهُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَ ٱلَّذِى جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ ﴿١٢٠﴾

Walan tarda AAanka alyahoodu wala alnnasara hatta tattabiAAa millatahum qul inna huda Allahi huwa alhuda walaini ittabaAAta ahwaahum baAAda allathee jaaka mina alAAilmi ma laka mina Allahi min waliyyin wala naseerin

اور تم سے نہ تو یہودی کبھی خوش ہوں گے اور نہ عیسائی، یہاں تک کہ تم ان کے مذہب کی پیروی اختیار کرلو۔ (ان سے) کہہ دو کہ خدا کی ہدایت (یعنی دین اسلام) ہی ہدایت ہے۔ اور (اے پیغمبر) اگر تم اپنے پاس علم (یعنی وحی خدا) کے آ جانے پر بھی ان کی خواہشوں پر چلو گے تو تم کو (عذاب) خدا سے (بچانے والا) نہ کوئی دوست ہوگا اور نہ کوئی مددگار

And never will the Jews or the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance." If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allah no protector or helper.

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَتْلُونَهُۥ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ ﴿١٢١﴾

Allatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yatloonahu haqqa tilawatihi olaika yuminoona bihi waman yakfur bihi faolaika humu alkhasiroona

جن لوگوں کو ہم نے کتاب عنایت کی ہے، وہ اس کو (ایسا) پڑھتے ہیں جیسا اس کے پڑھنے کا حق ہے۔ یہی لوگ اس پر ایمان رکھنے والے ہیں، اور جو اس کو نہیں مانتے، وہ خسارہ پانے والے ہیں

Those to whom We have given the Book recite it with its true recital. They [are the ones who] believe in it. And whoever disbelieves in it - it is they who are the losers.

يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتِىَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَنِّى فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٢٢﴾

Ya banee israeela othkuroo niAAmatiya allatee anAAamtu AAalaykum waannee faddaltukum AAala alAAalameena

اے بنی اسرائیل! میرے وہ احسان یاد کرو، جو میں نے تم پر کئے اور یہ کہ میں نے تم کو اہلِ عالم پر فضیلت بخشی

O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you and that I preferred you over the worlds.

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ يَوْمًا لَّا تَجْزِى نَفْسٌ عَن نَّفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا عَدْلٌ وَلَا تَنفَعُهَا شَفَٰعَةٌ وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ﴿١٢٣﴾

Waittaqoo yawman la tajzee nafsun AAan nafsin shayan wala yuqbalu minha AAadlun wala tanfaAAuha shafaAAatun wala hum yunsaroona

اور اس دن سے ڈرو جب کوئی شخص کسی شخص کے کچھ کام نہ آئے، اور نہ اس سے بدلہ قبول کیا جائے اور نہ اس کو کسی کی سفارش کچھ فائدہ دے اور نہ لوگوں کو (کسی اور طرح کی) مدد مل سکے

And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all, and no compensation will be accepted from it, nor will any intercession benefit it, nor will they be aided.

وَإِذِ ٱبْتَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ رَبُّهُۥ بِكَلِمَٰتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ قَالَ إِنِّى جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًا قَالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى قَالَ لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿١٢٤﴾

Waithi ibtala ibraheema rabbuhu bikalimatin faatammahunna qala innee jaAAiluka lilnnasi imaman qala wamin thurriyyatee qala la yanalu AAahdee al<i>thth</i>alimeena

اور جب پروردگار نے چند باتوں میں ابراہیم کی آزمائش کی تو ان میں پورے اترے۔ خدا نے کہا کہ میں تم کو لوگوں کا پیشوا بناؤں گا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ (پروردگار) میری اولاد میں سے بھی (پیشوا بنائیو) ۔ خدا نے فرمایا کہ ہمارا اقرار ظالموں کے لیے نہیں ہوا کرتا

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. [Allah] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [Allah] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers."

وَإِذْ جَعَلْنَا ٱلْبَيْتَ مَثَابَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَمْنًا وَٱتَّخِذُوا۟ مِن مَّقَامِ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ مُصَلًّى وَعَهِدْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ أَن طَهِّرَا بَيْتِىَ لِلطَّآئِفِينَ وَٱلْعَٰكِفِينَ وَٱلرُّكَّعِ ٱلسُّجُودِ ﴿١٢٥﴾

Waith jaAAalna albayta mathabatan lilnnasi waamnan waittakhithoo min maqami ibraheema musallan waAAahidna ila ibraheema waismaAAeela an tahhira baytiya lilttaifeena waalAAakifeena waalrrukkaAAi alssujoodi

اور جب ہم نے خانہٴ کعبہ کو لوگوں کے لیے جمع ہونے اور امن پانے کی جگہ مقرر کیا اور (حکم دیا کہ) جس مقام پر ابراہیم کھڑے ہوئے تھے، اس کو نماز کی جگہ بنا لو۔ اور ابراہیم اور اسمٰعیل کو کہا کہ طواف کرنے والوں اور اعتکاف کرنے والوں اور رکوع کرنے والوں اور سجدہ کرنے والوں کے لیے میرے گھر کو پاک صاف رکھا کرو

And [mention] when We made the House a place of return for the people and [a place of] security. And take, [O believers], from the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer. And We charged Abraham and Ishmael, [saying], "Purify My House for those who perform Tawaf and those who are staying [there] for worship and those who bow and prostrate [in prayer]."

وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْ هَٰذَا بَلَدًا ءَامِنًا وَٱرْزُقْ أَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ مِنْهُم بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ قَالَ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَأُمَتِّعُهُۥ قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ أَضْطَرُّهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلنَّارِ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ ﴿١٢٦﴾

Waith qala ibraheemu rabbi ijAAal hatha baladan aminan waorzuq ahlahu mina alththamarati man amana minhum biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri qala waman kafara faomattiAAuhu qaleelan thumma adtarruhu ila AAathabi alnnari wabisa almaseeru

اور جب ابراہیم نے دعا کی کہ اے پروردگار، اس جگہ کو امن کا شہر بنا اور اس کے رہنے والوں میں سے جو خدا پر اور روزِ آخرت پر ایمان لائیں، ان کے کھانے کو میوے عطا کر، تو خدا نے فرمایا کہ جو کافر ہوگا، میں اس کو بھی کسی قدر متمتع کروں گا، (مگر) پھر اس کو (عذاب) دوزخ کے (بھگتنے کے) لیے ناچار کردوں گا، اور وہ بری جگہ ہے

And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this a secure city and provide its people with fruits - whoever of them believes in Allah and the Last Day." [Allah] said. "And whoever disbelieves - I will grant him enjoyment for a little; then I will force him to the punishment of the Fire, and wretched is the destination."

وَإِذْ يَرْفَعُ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ ٱلْقَوَاعِدَ مِنَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلُ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّآ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ﴿١٢٧﴾

Waith yarfaAAu ibraheemu alqawaAAida mina albayti waismaAAeelu rabbana taqabbal minna innaka anta alssameeAAu alAAaleemu

اور جب ابراہیم اور اسمٰعیل بیت الله کی بنیادیں اونچی کر رہے تھے (تو دعا کئے جاتے تھے کہ) اے پروردگار، ہم سے یہ خدمت قبول فرما۔ بےشک تو سننے والا (اور) جاننے والا ہے

And [mention] when Abraham was raising the foundations of the House and [with him] Ishmael, [saying], "Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the Hearing, the Knowing.

رَبَّنَا وَٱجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ أُمَّةً مُّسْلِمَةً لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَآ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿١٢٨﴾

Rabbana waijAAalna muslimayni laka wamin thurriyyatina ommatan muslimatan laka waarina manasikana watub AAalayna innaka anta alttawwabu alrraheemu

اے پروردگار، ہم کو اپنا فرمانبردار بنائے رکھیو۔ اور ہماری اولاد میں سے بھی ایک گروہ کو اپنا مطیع بنائے رہیو، اور (پروردگار) ہمیں طریق عبادت بتا اور ہمارے حال پر (رحم کے ساتھ) توجہ فرما۔ بے شک تو توجہ فرمانے والا مہربان ہے

Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

رَبَّنَا وَٱبْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ﴿١٢٩﴾

Rabbana waibAAath feehim rasoolan minhum yatloo AAalayhim ayatika wayuAAallimuhumu alkitaba waalhikmata wayuzakkeehim innaka anta alAAazeezu alhakeemu

اے پروردگار، ان (لوگوں) میں انہیں میں سے ایک پیغمبر مبعوث کیجیو جو ان کو تیری آیتیں پڑھ پڑھ کر سنایا کرے اور کتاب اور دانائی سکھایا کرے اور ان (کے دلوں) کو پاک صاف کیا کرے۔ بےشک تو غالب اور صاحبِ حکمت ہے

Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

وَمَن يَرْغَبُ عَن مِّلَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ إِلَّا مَن سَفِهَ نَفْسَهُۥ وَلَقَدِ ٱصْطَفَيْنَٰهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ﴿١٣٠﴾

Waman yarghabu AAan millati ibraheema illa man safiha nafsahu walaqadi istafaynahu fee alddunya wainnahu fee alakhirati lamina alssaliheena

اور ابراہیم کے دین سے کون رو گردانی کر سکتا ہے، بجز اس کے جو نہایت نادان ہو۔ ہم نے ان کو دنیا میں بھی منتخب کیا تھا اور آخرت میں بھی وہ (زمرہٴ) صلحا میں سے ہوں گے

And who would be averse to the religion of Abraham except one who makes a fool of himself. And We had chosen him in this world, and indeed he, in the Hereafter, will be among the righteous.

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُۥ رَبُّهُۥٓ أَسْلِمْ قَالَ أَسْلَمْتُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٣١﴾

Ith qala lahu rabbuhu aslim qala aslamtu lirabbi alAAalameena

جب ان سے ان کے پروردگار نے فرمایا کہ اسلام لے آؤ تو انہوں نے عرض کی کہ میں رب العالمین کے آگے سر اطاعت خم کرتا ہوں

When his Lord said to him, "Submit", he said "I have submitted [in Islam] to the Lord of the worlds."

وَوَصَّىٰ بِهَآ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ يَٰبَنِىَّ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰ لَكُمُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ ﴿١٣٢﴾

Wawassa biha ibraheemu baneehi wayaAAqoobu ya baniyya inna Allaha istafa lakumu alddeena fala tamootunna illa waantum muslimoona

اور ابرہیم نے اپنے بیٹوں کو اسی بات کی وصیت کی اور یعقوب نے بھی (اپنے فرزندوں سے یہی کہا) کہ بیٹا خدا نے تمہارے لیے یہی دین پسند فرمایا ہے تو مرنا ہے تو مسلمان ہی مرنا

And Abraham instructed his sons [to do the same] and [so did] Jacob, [saying], "O my sons, indeed Allah has chosen for you this religion, so do not die except while you are Muslims."

أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَآءَ إِذْ حَضَرَ يَعْقُوبَ ٱلْمَوْتُ إِذْ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنۢ بَعْدِى قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ إِلَٰهَكَ وَإِلَٰهَ ءَابَآئِكَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ إِلَٰهًا وَٰحِدًا وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ ﴿١٣٣﴾

Am kuntum shuhadaa ith hadara yaAAqooba almawtu ith qala libaneehi ma taAAbudoona min baAAdee qaloo naAAbudu ilahaka wailaha abaika ibraheema waismaAAeela waishaqa ilahan wahidan wanahnu lahu muslimoona

بھلا جس وقت یعقوب وفات پانے لگے تو تم اس وقت موجود تھے، جب انہوں نے اپنے بیٹوں سے پوچھا کہ میرے بعد تم کس کی عبادت کرو گے، تو انہوں نے کہا کہ آپ کے معبود اور آپ کے باپ دادا ابراہیم اور اسمٰعیل اور اسحاق کے معبود کی عبادت کریں گے جو معبود یکتا ہے اور ہم اُسی کے حکم بردار ہیں

Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac - one God. And we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٣٤﴾

Tilka ommatun qad khalat laha ma kasabat walakum ma kasabtum wala tusaloona AAamma kano yaAAmaloona

یہ جماعت گزرچکی۔ ان کو اُن کے اعمال (کا بدلہ ملے گا) اور تم کو تمھارے اعمال (کا) اور جو عمل وہ کرتے تھے ان کی پرسش تم سے نہیں ہوگی

That was a nation which has passed on. It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do.

وَقَالُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ تَهْتَدُوا۟ قُلْ بَلْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ﴿١٣٥﴾

Waqaloo koonoo hoodan aw nasara tahtadoo qul bal millata ibraheema haneefan wama kana mina almushrikeena

اور (یہودی اور عیسائی) کہتے ہیں کہ یہودی یا عیسائی ہو جاؤ تو سیدھے رستے پر لگ جاؤ۔ (اے پیغمبر ان سے) کہہ دو، (نہیں) بلکہ (ہم) دین ابراہیم (اختیار کئے ہوئے ہیں) جو ایک خدا کے ہو رہے تھے اور مشرکوں میں سے نہ تھے

They say, "Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided." Say, "Rather, [we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists."

قُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ ٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ ﴿١٣٦﴾

Qooloo amanna biAllahi wama onzila ilayna wama onzila ila ibraheema waismaAAeela waishaqa wayaAAqooba waalasbati wama ootiya moosa waAAeesa wama ootiya alnnabiyyoona min rabbihim la nufarriqu bayna ahadin minhum wanahnu lahu muslimoona

(مسلمانو) کہو کہ ہم خدا پر ایمان لائے اور جو (کتاب) ہم پر اتری، اس پر اور جو (صحیفے) ابراہیم اور اسمٰعیل اور اسحاق اور یعقوب اور ان کی اولاد پر نازل ہوئے ان پر اور جو (کتابیں) موسیٰ اور عیسی کو عطا ہوئیں، ان پر، اور جو اور پیغمبروں کو ان کے پروردگار کی طرف سے ملیں، ان پر (سب پر ایمان لائے) ہم ان پیغمروں میں سے کسی میں کچھ فرق نہیں کرتے اور ہم اسی (خدائے واحد) کے فرمانبردار ہیں

Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

فَإِنْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَآ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا هُمْ فِى شِقَاقٍ فَسَيَكْفِيكَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ﴿١٣٧﴾

Fain amanoo bimithli ma amantum bihi faqadi ihtadaw wain tawallaw fainnama hum fee shiqaqin fasayakfeekahumu Allahu wahuwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu

تو اگر یہ لوگ بھی اسی طرح ایمان لے آئیں جس طرح تم ایمان لے آئے ہو تو ہدایت یاب ہو جائیں اور اگر منہ پھیر لیں (اور نہ مانیں) تو وہ (تمھارے) مخالف ہیں اور ان کے مقابلے میں تمھیں خدا کافی ہے۔ اور وہ سننے والا (اور) جاننے والا ہے

So if they believe in the same as you believe in, then they have been [rightly] guided; but if they turn away, they are only in dissension, and Allah will be sufficient for you against them. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

صِبْغَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ صِبْغَةً وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ عَٰبِدُونَ ﴿١٣٨﴾

Sibghata Allahi waman ahsanu mina Allahi sibghatan wanahnu lahu AAabidoona

(کہہ دو کہ ہم نے) خدا کا رنگ (اختیار کر لیا ہے) اور خدا سے بہتر رنگ کس کا ہو سکتا ہے۔ اور ہم اسی کی عبادت کرنے والے ہیں

[And say, "Ours is] the religion of Allah. And who is better than Allah in [ordaining] religion? And we are worshippers of Him."

قُلْ أَتُحَآجُّونَنَا فِى ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ وَلَنَآ أَعْمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلُكُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُخْلِصُونَ ﴿١٣٩﴾

Qul atuhajjoonana fee Allahi wahuwa rabbuna warabbukum walana aAAmaluna walakum aAAmalukum wanahnu lahu mukhlisoona

(ان سے) کہو، کیا تم خدا کے بارے میں ہم سے جھگڑتے ہو، حالانکہ وہی ہمارا اور تمھارا پروردگار ہے اور ہم کو ہمارے اعمال (کا بدلہ ملے گا) اور تم کو تمھارے اعمال (کا) اور ہم خاص اسی کی عبادت کرنے والے ہیں

Say, [O Muhammad], "Do you argue with us about Allah while He is our Lord and your Lord? For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. And we are sincere [in deed and intention] to Him."

أَمْ تَقُولُونَ إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطَ كَانُوا۟ هُودًا أَوْ نَصَٰرَىٰ قُلْ ءَأَنتُمْ أَعْلَمُ أَمِ ٱللَّهُ وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَتَمَ شَهَٰدَةً عِندَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٤٠﴾

Am taqooloona inna ibraheema waismaAAeela waishaqa wayaAAqooba waalasbata kanoo hoodan aw nasara qul aantum aAAlamu ami Allahu waman a<i>th</i>lamu mimman katama shahadatan AAindahu mina Allahi wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona

(اے یہود ونصاریٰ) کیا تم اس بات کے قائل ہو کہ ابراہیم اور اسمٰعیل اور اسحاق اور یعقوب اور ان کی اولاد یہودی یا عیسائی تھے۔ (اے محمدﷺ ان سے) کہو کہ بھلا تم زیادہ جانتے ہو یا خدا؟ اور اس سے بڑھ کر ظالم کون، جو خدا کی شہادت کو، جو اس کے پاس (کتاب میں موجود) ہے چھپائے۔ اور جو کچھ تم کر رہے ہو، خدا اس سے غافل نہیں

Or do you say that Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants were Jews or Christians? Say, "Are you more knowing or is Allah?" And who is more unjust than one who conceals a testimony he has from Allah? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُم مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ وَلَا تُسْـَٔلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٤١﴾

Tilka ommatun qad khalat laha ma kasabat walakum ma kasabtum wala tusaloona AAamma kanoo yaAAmaloona

یہ جماعت گزر چکی۔ ان کو وہ (ملے گا) جو انہوں نے کیا، اور تم کو وہ جو تم نے کیا۔ اور جو عمل وہ کرتے تھے، اس کی پرسش تم سے نہیں ہوگی

That is a nation which has passed on. It will have [the consequence of] what it earned, and you will have what you have earned. And you will not be asked about what they used to do.

سَيَقُولُ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَا وَلَّىٰهُمْ عَن قِبْلَتِهِمُ ٱلَّتِى كَانُوا۟ عَلَيْهَا قُل لِّلَّهِ ٱلْمَشْرِقُ وَٱلْمَغْرِبُ يَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ﴿١٤٢﴾

Sayaqoolu alssufahao mina alnnasi ma wallahum AAan qiblatihimu allatee kanoo AAalayha qul lillahi almashriqu waalmaghribu yahdee man yashao ila siratin mustaqeemin

احمق لوگ کہیں گے کہ مسلمان جس قبلے پر (پہلے سے چلے آتے) تھے (اب) اس سے کیوں منہ پھیر بیٹھے۔ تم کہہ دو کہ مشرق اور مغرب سب خدا ہی کا ہے۔ وہ جس کو چاہتا ہے، سیدھے رستے پر چلاتا ہے

The foolish among the people will say, "What has turned them away from their qiblah, which they used to face?" Say, "To Allah belongs the east and the west. He guides whom He wills to a straight path."

وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا وَمَا جَعَلْنَا ٱلْقِبْلَةَ ٱلَّتِى كُنتَ عَلَيْهَآ إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ وَإِن كَانَتْ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَٰنَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِٱلنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿١٤٣﴾

Wakathalika jaAAalnakum ommatan wasatan litakoonoo shuhadaa AAala alnnasi wayakoona alrrasoolu AAalaykum shaheedan wama jaAAalna alqiblata allatee kunta AAalayha illa linaAAlama man yattabiAAu alrrasoola mimman yanqalibu AAala AAaqibayhi wain kanat lakabeeratan illa AAala allatheena hada Allahu wama kana Allahu liyudeeAAa eemanakum inna Allaha bialnnasi laraoofun raheemun

اور اسی طرح ہم نے تم کو امتِ معتدل بنایا ہے، تاکہ تم لوگوں پر گواہ بنو اور پیغمبر (آخرالزماں) تم پر گواہ بنیں۔ اور جس قبلے پر تم (پہلے) تھے، اس کو ہم نے اس لیے مقرر کیا تھا کہ معلوم کریں، کون (ہمارے) پیغمبر کا تابع رہتا ہے، اور کون الٹے پاؤں پھر جاتا ہے۔ اور یہ بات (یعنی تحویل قبلہ لوگوں کو) گراں معلوم ہوئی، مگر جن کو خدا نے ہدایت بخشی (وہ اسے گراں نہیں سمجھتے) اور خدا ایسا نہیں کہ تمہارے ایمان کو یونہی کھو دے۔ خدا تو لوگوں پر بڑا مہربان (اور) صاحبِ رحمت ہے

And thus we have made you a just community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you. And We did not make the qiblah which you used to face except that We might make evident who would follow the Messenger from who would turn back on his heels. And indeed, it is difficult except for those whom Allah has guided. And never would Allah have caused you to lose your faith. Indeed Allah is, to the people, Kind and Merciful.

قَدْ نَرَىٰ تَقَلُّبَ وَجْهِكَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبْلَةً تَرْضَىٰهَا فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُۥ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٤٤﴾

Qad nara taqalluba wajhika fee alssamai falanuwalliyannaka qiblatan tardaha fawalli wajhaka shatra almasjidi alharami wahaythu ma kuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrahu wainna allatheena ootoo alkitaba layaAAlamoona annahu alhaqqu min rabbihim wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma yaAAmaloona

(اے محمدﷺ) ہم تمہارا آسمان کی طرف منہ پھیر پھیر کر دیکھنا دیکھ رہے ہیں۔ سو ہم تم کو اسی قبلے کی طرف جس کو تم پسند کرتے ہو، منہ کرنے کا حکم دیں گے تو اپنا منہ مسجد حرام (یعنی خانہٴ کعبہ) کی طرف پھیر لو۔ اور تم لوگ جہاں ہوا کرو، (نماز پڑھنے کے وقت) اسی مسجد کی طرف منہ کر لیا کرو۔ اور جن لوگوں کو کتاب دی گئی ہے، وہ خوب جانتے ہیں کہ (نیا قبلہ) ان کے پروردگار کی طرف سے حق ہے۔ اور جو کام یہ لوگ کرتے ہیں، خدا ان سے بے خبر نہیں

We have certainly seen the turning of your face, [O Muhammad], toward the heaven, and We will surely turn you to a qiblah with which you will be pleased. So turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you [believers] are, turn your faces toward it [in prayer]. Indeed, those who have been given the Scripture well know that it is the truth from their Lord. And Allah is not unaware of what they do.

وَلَئِنْ أَتَيْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِكُلِّ ءَايَةٍ مَّا تَبِعُوا۟ قِبْلَتَكَ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَتَهُمْ وَمَا بَعْضُهُم بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَةَ بَعْضٍ وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ إِنَّكَ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿١٤٥﴾

Walain atayta allatheena ootoo alkitaba bikulli ayatin ma tabiAAoo qiblataka wama anta bitabiAAin qiblatahum wama baAAduhum bitabiAAin qiblata baAAdin walaini ittabaAAta ahwaahum min baAAdi ma jaaka mina alAAilmi innaka ithan lamina al<i>thth</i>alimeena

اور اگر تم ان اہلِ کتاب کے پاس تمام نشانیاں بھی لے کر آؤ، تو بھی یہ تمہارے قبلے کی پیروی نہ کریں۔ اور تم بھی ان کے قبلے کی پیروی کرنے والے نہیں ہو۔ اور ان میں سے بھی بعض بعض کے قبلے کے پیرو نہیں۔ اور اگر تم باوجود اس کے کہ تمہارے پاس دانش (یعنی وحئ خدا) آ چکی ہے، ان کی خواہشوں کے پیچھے چلو گے تو ظالموں میں (داخل) ہو جاؤ گے

And if you brought to those who were given the Scripture every sign, they would not follow your qiblah. Nor will you be a follower of their qiblah. Nor would they be followers of one another's qiblah. So if you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, indeed, you would then be among the wrongdoers.

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَعْرِفُونَهُۥ كَمَا يَعْرِفُونَ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقًا مِّنْهُمْ لَيَكْتُمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٤٦﴾

Allatheena ataynahumu alkitaba yaAArifoonahu kama yaAArifoona abnaahum wainna fareeqan minhum layaktumoona alhaqqa wahum yaAAlamoona

جن لوگوں کو ہم نے کتاب دی ہے، وہ ان (پیغمبر آخرالزماں) کو اس طرح پہچانتے ہیں، جس طرح اپنے بیٹوں کو پہچانا کرتے ہیں، مگر ایک فریق ان میں سے سچی بات کو جان بوجھ کر چھپا رہا ہے

Those to whom We gave the Scripture know him as they know their own sons. But indeed, a party of them conceal the truth while they know [it].

ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ ﴿١٤٧﴾

Alhaqqu min rabbika fala takoonanna mina almumtareena

(اے پیغمبر، یہ نیا قبلہ) تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے حق ہے تو تم ہرگز شک کرنے والوں میں نہ ہونا

The truth is from your Lord, so never be among the doubters.

وَلِكُلٍّ وِجْهَةٌ هُوَ مُوَلِّيهَا فَٱسْتَبِقُوا۟ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ أَيْنَ مَا تَكُونُوا۟ يَأْتِ بِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ جَمِيعًا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿١٤٨﴾

Walikullin wijhatun huwa muwalleeha faistabiqoo alkhayrati ayna ma takoonoo yati bikumu Allahu jameeAAan inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

اور ہر ایک (فرقے) کے لیے ایک سمت (مقرر) ہے۔ جدھر وہ (عبادت کے وقت) منہ کیا کرتے ہیں۔ تو تم نیکیوں میں سبقت حاصل کرو۔ تم جہاں رہو گے خدا تم سب کو جمع کرلے گا۔ بے شک خدا ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

For each [religious following] is a direction toward which it faces. So race to [all that is] good. Wherever you may be, Allah will bring you forth [for judgement] all together. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.

وَمِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٤٩﴾

Wamin haythu kharajta fawalli wajhaka shatra almasjidi alharami wainnahu lalhaqqu min rabbika wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona

اور تم جہاں سے نکلو، (نماز میں) اپنا منہ مسجد محترم کی طرف کر لیا کرو بےشک وہ تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے حق ہے۔ اور تم لوگ جو کچھ کرتے ہو۔ خدا اس سے بے خبر نہیں

So from wherever you go out [for prayer, O Muhammad] turn your face toward al- Masjid al-Haram, and indeed, it is the truth from your Lord. And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

وَمِنْ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ فَوَلِّ وَجْهَكَ شَطْرَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُۥ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَيْكُمْ حُجَّةٌ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِى وَلِأُتِمَّ نِعْمَتِى عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ﴿١٥٠﴾

Wamin haythu kharajta fawalli wajhaka shatra almasjidi alharami wahaythu ma kuntum fawalloo wujoohakum shatrahu lialla yakoona lilnnasi AAalaykum hujjatun illa allatheena <i>th</i>alamoo minhum fala takhshawhum waikhshawnee waliotimma niAAmatee AAalaykum walaAAallakum tahtadoona

اور تم جہاں سے نکلو، مسجدِ محترم کی طرف منہ (کرکے نماز پڑھا) کرو۔ اور مسلمانو، تم جہاں ہوا کرو، اسی (مسجد) کی طرف رخ کیا کرو۔ (یہ تاکید) اس لیے (کی گئی ہے) کہ لوگ تم کو کسی طرح کا الزام نہ دے سکیں۔ مگر ان میں سے جو ظالم ہیں، (وہ الزام دیں تو دیں) سو ان سے مت ڈرنا اور مجھی سے ڈرتے رہنا۔ اور یہ بھی مقصود ہے کہ تم کو اپنی تمام نعمتیں بخشوں اور یہ بھی کہ تم راہِ راست پر چلو

And from wherever you go out [for prayer], turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you [believers] may be, turn your faces toward it in order that the people will not have any argument against you, except for those of them who commit wrong; so fear them not but fear Me. And [it is] so I may complete My favor upon you and that you may be guided.

كَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيكُمْ رَسُولًا مِّنكُمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَيُزَكِّيكُمْ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُم مَّا لَمْ تَكُونُوا۟ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٥١﴾

Kama arsalna feekum rasoolan minkum yatloo AAalaykum ayatina wayuzakkeekum wayuAAallimukumu alkitaba waalhikmata wayuAAallimukum ma lam takoonoo taAAlamoona

جس طرح (منجملہ اور نعمتوں کے) ہم نے تم میں تمھیں میں سے ایک رسول بھیجے ہیں جو تم کو ہماری آیتیں پڑھ پڑھ کر سناتے اور تمہیں پاک بناتے اور کتاب (یعنی قرآن) اور دانائی سکھاتے ہیں، اور ایسی باتیں بتاتے ہیں، جو تم پہلے نہیں جانتے تھے

Just as We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom and teaching you that which you did not know.

فَٱذْكُرُونِىٓ أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ لِى وَلَا تَكْفُرُونِ ﴿١٥٢﴾

Faothkuroonee athkurkum waoshkuroo lee wala takfurooni

سو تم مجھے یاد کرو۔ میں تمہیں یاد کیا کروں گا۔ اور میرے احسان مانتے رہنا اور ناشکری نہ کرنا

So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ ﴿١٥٣﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo istaAAeenoo bialssabri waalssalati inna Allaha maAAa alssabireena

اے ایمان والو صبر اور نماز سے مدد لیا کرو بےشک خدا صبر کرنے والوں کے ساتھ ہے

O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.

وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَن يُقْتَلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمْوَٰتٌۢ بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَشْعُرُونَ ﴿١٥٤﴾

Wala taqooloo liman yuqtalu fee sabeeli Allahi amwatun bal ahyaon walakin la tashAAuroona

اور جو لوگ خدا کی راہ میں مارے جائیں ان کی نسبت یہ کہنا کہ وہ مرے ہوئے ہیں (وہ مردہ نہیں) بلکہ زندہ ہیں لیکن تم نہیں جانتے

And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah, "They are dead." Rather, they are alive, but you perceive [it] not.

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَىْءٍ مِّنَ ٱلْخَوْفِ وَٱلْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَنفُسِ وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ ﴿١٥٥﴾

Walanabluwannakum bishayin mina alkhawfi waaljooAAi wanaqsin mina alamwali waalanfusi waalththamarati wabashshiri alssabireena

اور ہم کسی قدر خوف اور بھوک اور مال اور جانوں اور میوؤں کے نقصان سے تمہاری آزمائش کریں گے توصبر کرنے والوں کو (خدا کی خوشنودی کی) بشارت سنا دو

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,

ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَصَٰبَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيْهِ رَٰجِعُونَ ﴿١٥٦﴾

Allatheena itha asabathum museebatun qaloo inna lillahi wainna ilayhi rajiAAoona

ان لوگوں پر جب کوئی مصیبت واقع ہوتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم خدا ہی کا مال ہیں اور اسی کی طرف لوٹ کر جانے والے ہیں

Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return."

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَٰتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُهْتَدُونَ ﴿١٥٧﴾

Olaika AAalayhim salawatun min rabbihim warahmatun waolaika humu almuhtadoona

یہی لوگ ہیں جن پر ان کے پروردگار کی مہربانی اور رحمت ہے۔ اور یہی سیدھے رستے پر ہیں

Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided.

إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلْمَرْوَةَ مِن شَعَآئِرِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَنْ حَجَّ ٱلْبَيْتَ أَوِ ٱعْتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَن يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا وَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴿١٥٨﴾

Inna alssafa waalmarwata min shaAAairi Allahi faman hajja albayta awi iAAtamara fala junaha AAalayhi an yattawwafa bihima waman tatawwaAAa khayran fainna Allaha shakirun AAaleemun

بےشک (کوہ) صفا اور مروہ خدا کی نشانیوں میں سے ہیں۔ تو جو شخص خانہٴ کعبہ کا حج یا عمرہ کرے اس پر کچھ گناہ نہیں کہ دونوں کا طواف کرے۔ (بلکہ طواف ایک قسم کا نیک کام ہے) اور جو کوئی نیک کام کرے تو خدا قدر شناس اور دانا ہے

Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever makes Hajj to the House or performs 'umrah - there is no blame upon him for walking between them. And whoever volunteers good - then indeed, Allah is appreciative and Knowing.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلْهُدَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا بَيَّنَّٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَلْعَنُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَلْعَنُهُمُ ٱللَّٰعِنُونَ ﴿١٥٩﴾

Inna allatheena yaktumoona ma anzalna mina albayyinati waalhuda min baAAdi ma bayyannahu lilnnasi fee alkitabi olaika yalAAanuhumu Allahu wayalAAanuhumu allaAAinoona

جو لوگ ہمارے حکموں اور ہدایتوں کو جو ہم نے نازل کی ہیں (کسی غرض فاسد سے) چھپاتے ہیں باوجود یہ کہ ہم نے ان لوگوں کے (سمجھانے کے) لئے اپنی کتاب میں کھول کھول کر بیان کردیا ہے۔ ایسوں پر خدا اور تمام لعنت کرنے والے لعنت کرتے ہیں

Indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance after We made it clear for the people in the Scripture - those are cursed by Allah and cursed by those who curse,

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ وَبَيَّنُوا۟ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَنَا ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿١٦٠﴾

Illa allatheena taboo waaslahoo wabayyanoo faolaika atoobu AAalayhim waana alttawwabu alrraheemu

ہاں جو توبہ کرتے ہیں اور اپنی حالت درست کرلیتے اور (احکام الہیٰ کو) صاف صاف بیان کردیتے ہیں تو میں ان کے قصور معاف کردیتا ہوں اور میں بڑا معاف کرنے والا (اور) رحم والا ہوں

Except for those who repent and correct themselves and make evident [what they concealed]. Those - I will accept their repentance, and I am the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿١٦١﴾

Inna allatheena kafaroo wamatoo wahum kuffarun olaika AAalayhim laAAnatu Allahi waalmalaikati waalnnasi ajmaAAeena

جو لوگ کافر ہوئے اور کافر ہی مرے ایسوں پر خدا کی اور فرشتوں اور لوگوں کی سب کی لعنت

Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - upon them will be the curse of Allah and of the angels and the people, all together,

خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ ﴿١٦٢﴾

Khalideena feeha la yukhaffafu AAanhumu alAAathabu wala hum yun<i>th</i>aroona

وہ ہمیشہ اسی (لعنت) میں (گرفتار) رہیں گے۔ ان سے نہ تو عذاب ہی ہلکا کیا جائے گا اور نہ انہیں (کچھ) مہلت ملے گی

Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved.

وَإِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿١٦٣﴾

Wailahukum ilahun wahidun la ilaha illa huwa alrrahmanu alrraheemu

اور (لوگو) تمہارا معبود خدائے واحد ہے اس بڑے مہربان (اور) رحم کرنے کے سوا کوئی عبادت کے لائق نہیں

And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

إِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلَّتِى تَجْرِى فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ بِمَا يَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن مَّآءٍ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَآبَّةٍ وَتَصْرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَٰحِ وَٱلسَّحَابِ ٱلْمُسَخَّرِ بَيْنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَـَٔايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ ﴿١٦٤﴾

Inna fee khalqi alssamawati waalardi waikhtilafi allayli waalnnahari waalfulki allatee tajree fee albahri bima yanfaAAu alnnasa wama anzala Allahu mina alssamai min main faahya bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha wabaththa feeha min kulli dabbatin watasreefi alrriyahi waalssahabi almusakhkhari bayna alssamai waalardi laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona

بےشک آسمانوں اور زمین کے پیدا کرنے میں اور رات اور دن کے ایک دوسرے کے پیچھے آنے جانے میں اور کشتیوں اور جہازوں میں جو دریا میں لوگوں کے فائدے کی چیزیں لے کر رواں ہیں اور مینہ میں جس کو خدا آسمان سے برساتا اور اس سے زمین کو مرنے کے بعد زندہ (یعنی خشک ہوئے پیچھے سرسبز) کردیتا ہے اور زمین پر ہر قسم کے جانور پھیلانے میں اور ہواؤں کے چلانےمیں اور بادلوں میں جو آسمان اور زمین کے درمیان گھرے رہتے ہیں۔ عقلمندوں کے لئے (خدا کی قدرت کی) نشانیاں ہیں

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason.

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَندَادًا يُحِبُّونَهُمْ كَحُبِّ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَشَدُّ حُبًّا لِّلَّهِ وَلَوْ يَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ إِذْ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْعَذَابَ أَنَّ ٱلْقُوَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعَذَابِ ﴿١٦٥﴾

Wamina alnnasi man yattakhithu min dooni Allahi andadan yuhibboonahum kahubbi Allahi waallatheena amanoo ashaddu hubban lillahi walaw yara allatheena <i>th</i>alamoo ith yarawna alAAathaba anna alquwwata lillahi jameeAAan waanna Allaha shadeedu alAAathabi

اور بعض لوگ ایسے ہیں جو غیر خدا کو شریک (خدا) بناتے اور ان سے خدا کی سی محبت کرتے ہیں۔ لیکن جو ایمان والے ہیں وہ تو خدا ہی کے سب سے زیادہ دوستدار ہیں۔ اور اے کاش ظالم لوگ جو بات عذاب کے وقت دیکھیں گے اب دیکھ لیتے کہ سب طرح کی طاقت خدا ہی کو ہے۔ اور یہ کہ خدا سخت عذاب کرنے والا ہے

And [yet], among the people are those who take other than Allah as equals [to Him]. They love them as they [should] love Allah. But those who believe are stronger in love for Allah. And if only they who have wronged would consider [that] when they see the punishment, [they will be certain] that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah is severe in punishment.

إِذْ تَبَرَّأَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتُّبِعُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوا۟ وَرَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ وَتَقَطَّعَتْ بِهِمُ ٱلْأَسْبَابُ ﴿١٦٦﴾

Ith tabarraa allatheena ittubiAAoo mina allatheena ittabaAAoo waraawoo alAAathaba wataqattaAAat bihimu alasbabu

اس دن (کفر کے) پیشوا اپنے پیرووں سے بیزاری ظاہر کریں گے اور (دونوں) عذاب (الہیٰ) دیکھ لیں گے اور ان کے آپس کے تعلقات منقطع ہوجائیں گے

[And they should consider that] when those who have been followed disassociate themselves from those who followed [them], and they [all] see the punishment, and cut off from them are the ties [of relationship],

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوا۟ لَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَتَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُمْ كَمَا تَبَرَّءُوا۟ مِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ يُرِيهِمُ ٱللَّهُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ حَسَرَٰتٍ عَلَيْهِمْ وَمَا هُم بِخَٰرِجِينَ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ ﴿١٦٧﴾

Waqala allatheena ittabaAAoo law anna lana karratan fanatabarraa minhum kama tabarraoo minna kathalika yureehimu Allahu aAAmalahum hasaratin AAalayhim wama hum bikharijeena mina alnnari

(یہ حال دیکھ کر) پیروی کرنے والے (حسرت سے) کہیں گے کہ اے کاش ہمیں پھر دنیا میں جانا نصیب ہو تاکہ جس طرح یہ ہم سے بیزار ہو رہے ہیں اسی طرح ہم بھی ان سے بیزار ہوں۔ اسی طرح خدا ان کے اعمال انہیں حسرت بنا کر دکھائے گااور وہ دوزخ سے نکل نہیں سکیں گے

Those who followed will say, "If only we had another turn [at worldly life] so we could disassociate ourselves from them as they have disassociated themselves from us." Thus will Allah show them their deeds as regrets upon them. And they are never to emerge from the Fire.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ كُلُوا۟ مِمَّا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ حَلَٰلًا طَيِّبًا وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ خُطُوَٰتِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ ﴿١٦٨﴾

Ya ayyuha alnnasu kuloo mimma fee alardi halalan tayyiban wala tattabiAAoo khutuwati alshshaytani innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun

لوگو جو چیزیں زمین میں حلال طیب ہیں وہ کھاؤ۔ اور شیطان کے قدموں پر نہ چلو۔ وہ تمہارا کھلا دشمن ہے

O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.

إِنَّمَا يَأْمُرُكُم بِٱلسُّوٓءِ وَٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَأَن تَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٦٩﴾

Innama yamurukum bialssooi waalfahshai waan taqooloo AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona

وہ تو تم کو برائی اور بےحیائی ہی کے کام کرنے کو کہتا ہے اور یہ بھی کہ خدا کی نسبت ایسی باتیں کہو جن کا تمہیں (کچھ بھی) علم نہیں

He only orders you to evil and immorality and to say about Allah what you do not know.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُوا۟ بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَآ أَلْفَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ ﴿١٧٠﴾

Waitha qeela lahumu ittabiAAoo ma anzala Allahu qaloo bal nattabiAAu ma alfayna AAalayhi abaana awalaw kana abaohum la yaAAqiloona shayan wala yahtadoona

اور جب ان لوگوں سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ جو (کتاب) خدا نے نازل فرمائی ہے اس کی پیروی کرو تو کہتے ہیں (نہیں) بلکہ ہم تو اسی چیز کی پیروی کریں گے جس پر ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو پایا۔ بھلا اگرچہ ان کے باپ دادا نہ کچھ سمجھتے ہوں اورنہ سیدھے رستے پر ہوں (تب بھی وہ انہیں کی تقلید کئے جائیں گے)

And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that which we found our fathers doing." Even though their fathers understood nothing, nor were they guided?

وَمَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِى يَنْعِقُ بِمَا لَا يَسْمَعُ إِلَّا دُعَآءً وَنِدَآءً صُمٌّۢ بُكْمٌ عُمْىٌ فَهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ ﴿١٧١﴾

Wamathalu allatheena kafaroo kamathali allathee yanAAiqu bima la yasmaAAu illa duAAaan wanidaan summun bukmun AAumyun fahum la yaAAqiloona

جو لوگ کافر ہیں ان کی مثال اس شخص کی سی ہے جو کسی ایسی چیز کو آواز دے جو پکار اور آواز کے سوا کچھ سن نہ سکے۔ (یہ) بہرے ہیں گونگے ہیں اندھے ہیں کہ (کچھ) سمجھ ہی نہیں سکتے

The example of those who disbelieve is like that of one who shouts at what hears nothing but calls and cries cattle or sheep - deaf, dumb and blind, so they do not understand.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُلُوا۟ مِن طَيِّبَٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنَٰكُمْ وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ لِلَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ ﴿١٧٢﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo kuloo min tayyibati ma razaqnakum waoshkuroo lillahi in kuntum iyyahu taAAbudoona

اے اہل ایمان جو پاکیزہ چیزیں ہم نے تم کو عطا فرمائیں ہیں ان کو کھاؤ اور اگر خدا ہی کے بندے ہو تو اس (کی نعمتوں) کا شکر بھی ادا کرو

O you who have believed, eat from the good things which We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.

إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ بِهِۦ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَلَآ إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿١٧٣﴾

Innama harrama AAalaykumu almaytata waalddama walahma alkhinzeeri wama ohilla bihi lighayri Allahi famani idturra ghayra baghin wala AAadin fala ithma AAalayhi inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

اس نے تم پر مرا ہوا جانور اور لہو اور سور کا گوشت اور جس چیز پر خدا کے سوا کسی اور کا نام پکارا جائے حرام کردیا ہے ہاں جو ناچار ہوجائے (بشرطیکہ) خدا کی نافرمانی نہ کرے اور حد (ضرورت) سے باہر نہ نکل جائے اس پر کچھ گناہ نہیں۔ بےشک خدا بخشنے والا (اور) رحم کرنے والا ہے

He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَيَشْتَرُونَ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَا يَأْكُلُونَ فِى بُطُونِهِمْ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿١٧٤﴾

Inna allatheena yaktumoona ma anzala Allahu mina alkitabi wayashtaroona bihi thamanan qaleelan olaika ma yakuloona fee butoonihim illa alnnara wala yukallimuhumu Allahu yawma alqiyamati wala yuzakkeehim walahum AAathabun aleemun

جو لوگ (خدا) کی کتاب سے ان (آیتوں اور ہدایتوں) کو جو اس نے نازل فرمائی ہیں چھپاتے اور ان کے بدلے تھوڑی سی قیمت (یعنی دنیاوی منفعت) حاصل کرتے ہیں وہ اپنے پیٹوں میں محض آگ بھرتے ہیں۔ ایسے لوگوں سے خدا قیامت کے دن نہ کلام کرے گا اور نہ ان کو (گناہوں سے) پاک کرے گا۔اور ان کے لئے دکھ دینے والا عذاب ہے

Indeed, they who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book and exchange it for a small price - those consume not into their bellies except the Fire. And Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. And they will have a painful punishment.

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةَ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلْعَذَابَ بِٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ فَمَآ أَصْبَرَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ ﴿١٧٥﴾

Olaika allatheena ishtarawoo alddalalata bialhuda waalAAathaba bialmaghfirati fama asbarahum AAala alnnari

یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے ہدایت چھوڑ کر گمراہی اور بخشش چھوڑ کر عذاب خریدا۔ یہ (آتش) جہنم کی کیسی برداشت کرنے والے ہیں!

Those are the ones who have exchanged guidance for error and forgiveness for punishment. How patient they are in pursuit of the Fire!

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ نَزَّلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَفِى شِقَاقٍۭ بَعِيدٍ ﴿١٧٦﴾

Thalika bianna Allaha nazzala alkitaba bialhaqqi wainna allatheena ikhtalafoo fee alkitabi lafee shiqaqin baAAeedin

یہ اس لئے کہ خدا نے کتاب سچائی کے ساتھ نازل فرمائی۔ اور جن لوگوں نے اس کتاب میں اختلاف کیا وہ ضد میں (آکر نیکی سے) دور (ہوگئے) ہیں

That is [deserved by them] because Allah has sent down the Book in truth. And indeed, those who differ over the Book are in extreme dissension.

لَّيْسَ ٱلْبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ فِى ٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَحِينَ ٱلْبَأْسِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ﴿١٧٧﴾

Laysa albirra an tuwalloo wujoohakum qibala almashriqi waalmaghribi walakinna albirra man amana biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri waalmalaikati waalkitabi waalnnabiyyeena waata almala AAala hubbihi thawee alqurba waalyatama waalmasakeena waibna alssabeeli waalssaileena wafee alrriqabi waaqama alssalata waata alzzakata waalmoofoona biAAahdihim itha AAahadoo waalssabireena fee albasai waalddarrai waheena albasi olaika allatheena sadaqoo waolaika humu almuttaqoona

نیکی یہی نہیں کہ تم مشرق یا مغرب کو (قبلہ سمجھ کر ان) کی طرف منہ کرلو بلکہ نیکی یہ ہے کہ لوگ خدا پر اور روز آخرت پر اور فرشتوں پر اور (خدا کی) کتاب پر اور پیغمبروں پر ایمان لائیں۔ اور مال باوجود عزیز رکھنے کے رشتہ داروں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں اور مسافروں اور مانگنے والوں کو دیں اور گردنوں (کے چھڑانے) میں (خرچ کریں) اور نماز پڑھیں اور زکوٰة دیں۔ اور جب عہد کرلیں تو اس کو پورا کریں۔ اور سختی اور تکلیف میں اور (معرکہ) کارزار کے وقت ثابت قدم رہیں۔ یہی لوگ ہیں جو (ایمان میں) سچے ہیں اور یہی ہیں جو (خدا سے) ڈرنے والے ہیں

Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْقِصَاصُ فِى ٱلْقَتْلَى ٱلْحُرُّ بِٱلْحُرِّ وَٱلْعَبْدُ بِٱلْعَبْدِ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰ بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ فَمَنْ عُفِىَ لَهُۥ مِنْ أَخِيهِ شَىْءٌ فَٱتِّبَاعٌۢ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَأَدَآءٌ إِلَيْهِ بِإِحْسَٰنٍ ذَٰلِكَ تَخْفِيفٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ فَمَنِ ٱعْتَدَىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَهُۥ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿١٧٨﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo kutiba AAalaykumu alqisasu fee alqatla alhurru bialhurri waalAAabdu bialAAabdi waalontha bialontha faman AAufiya lahu min akheehi shayon faittibaAAun bialmaAAroofi waadaon ilayhi biihsanin thalika takhfeefun min rabbikum warahmatun famani iAAtada baAAda thalika falahu AAathabun aleemun

مومنو! تم کو مقتولوں کے بارےمیں قصاص (یعنی خون کے بدلے خون) کا حکم دیا جاتا ہے (اس طرح پر کہ) آزاد کے بدلے آزاد (مارا جائے) اور غلام کے بدلے غلام اور عورت کے بدلے عورت اور قاتل کو اس کے (مقتول) بھائی (کے قصاص میں) سے کچھ معاف کردیا جائے تو (وارث مقتول) کو پسندیدہ طریق سے (قرار داد کی) پیروی (یعنی مطالبہٴ خون بہا) کرنا اور (قاتل کو) خوش خوئی کے ساتھ ادا کرنا چاہیئے یہ پروردگار کی طرف سے تمہارے لئے آسانی اور مہربانی ہے جو اس کے بعد زیادتی کرے اس کے لئے دکھ کا عذاب ہے

O you who have believed, prescribed for you is legal retribution for those murdered - the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. But whoever overlooks from his brother anything, then there should be a suitable follow-up and payment to him with good conduct. This is an alleviation from your Lord and a mercy. But whoever transgresses after that will have a painful punishment.

وَلَكُمْ فِى ٱلْقِصَاصِ حَيَوٰةٌ يَٰٓأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٧٩﴾

Walakum fee alqisasi hayatun ya olee alalbabi laAAallakum tattaqoona

اور اے اہل عقل (حکم) قصاص میں (تمہاری) زندگانی ہے کہ تم (قتل و خونریزی سے) بچو

And there is for you in legal retribution [saving of] life, O you [people] of understanding, that you may become righteous.

كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ إِن تَرَكَ خَيْرًا ٱلْوَصِيَّةُ لِلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿١٨٠﴾

Kutiba AAalaykum itha hadara ahadakumu almawtu in taraka khayran alwasiyyatu lilwalidayni waalaqrabeena bialmaAAroofi haqqan AAala almuttaqeena

تم پر فرض کیا جاتا ہے کہ جب تم میں سے کسی کو موت کا وقت آجائے تو اگر وہ کچھ مال چھوڑ جانے والا ہو تو ماں با پ اور رشتہ داروں کے لئے دستور کے مطابق وصیت کرجائے (خدا سے) ڈر نے والوں پر یہ ایک حق ہے

Prescribed for you when death approaches [any] one of you if he leaves wealth [is that he should make] a bequest for the parents and near relatives according to what is acceptable - a duty upon the righteous.

فَمَنۢ بَدَّلَهُۥ بَعْدَ مَا سَمِعَهُۥ فَإِنَّمَآ إِثْمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَدِّلُونَهُۥٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴿١٨١﴾

Faman baddalahu baAAdama samiAAahu fainnama ithmuhu AAala allatheena yubaddiloonahu inna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun

جو شخص وصیت کو سننے کے بعد بدل ڈالے تو اس (کے بدلنے) کا گناہ انہیں لوگوں پر ہے جو اس کو بدلیں۔ اور بےشک خدا سنتا جانتا ہے

Then whoever alters the bequest after he has heard it - the sin is only upon those who have altered it. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

فَمَنْ خَافَ مِن مُّوصٍ جَنَفًا أَوْ إِثْمًا فَأَصْلَحَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَلَآ إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿١٨٢﴾

Faman khafa min moosin janafan aw ithman faaslaha baynahum fala ithma AAalayhi inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

اگر کسی کو وصیت کرنے والے کی طرف سے (کسی وارث کی) طرفداری یا حق تلفی کا اندیشہ ہو تو اگر وہ (وصیت کو بدل کر) وارثوں میں صلح کرادے تو اس پر کچھ گناہ نہیں۔ بےشک خدا بخشنے والا (اور) رحم والا ہے

But if one fears from the bequeather [some] error or sin and corrects that which is between them, there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ ﴿١٨٣﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo kutiba AAalaykumu alssiyamu kama kutiba AAala allatheena min qablikum laAAallakum tattaqoona

مومنو! تم پر روزے فرض کئے گئے ہیں۔ جس طرح تم سے پہلے لوگوں پر فرض کئے گئے تھے تاکہ تم پرہیزگار بنو

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous -

أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍ فَمَن كَانَ مِنكُم مَّرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُۥ فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِينٍ فَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُۥ وَأَن تَصُومُوا۟ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٨٤﴾

Ayyaman maAAdoodatin faman kana minkum mareedan aw AAala safarin faAAiddatun min ayyamin okhara waAAala allatheena yuteeqoonahu fidyatun taAAamu miskeenin faman tatawwaAAa khayran fahuwa khayrun lahu waan tasoomoo khayrun lakum in kuntum taAAlamoona

(روزوں کے دن) گنتی کے چند روز ہیں تو جو شخص تم میں سے بیمار ہو یا سفر میں ہو تو دوسرے دنوں میں روزوں کا شمار پورا کرلے اور جو لوگ روزہ رکھنے کی طاقت رکھیں (لیکن رکھیں نہیں) وہ روزے کے بدلے محتاج کو کھانا کھلا دیں اور جو کوئی شوق سے نیکی کرے تو اس کے حق میں زیادہ اچھا ہے۔ اور اگر سمجھو تو روزہ رکھنا ہی تمہارے حق میں بہتر ہے

[Fasting for] a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then an equal number of days [are to be made up]. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]. And whoever volunteers excess - it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.

شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ فِيهِ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلْفُرْقَانِ فَمَن شَهِدَ مِنكُمُ ٱلشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُ وَمَن كَانَ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُمُ ٱلْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ ٱلْعُسْرَ وَلِتُكْمِلُوا۟ ٱلْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَىٰكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ﴿١٨٥﴾

Shahru ramadana allathee onzila feehi alquranu hudan lilnnasi wabayyinatin mina alhuda waalfurqani faman shahida minkumu alshshahra falyasumhu waman kana mareedan aw AAala safarin faAAiddatun min ayyamin okhara yureedu Allahu bikumu alyusra wala yureedu bikumu alAAusra walitukmiloo alAAiddata walitukabbiroo Allaha AAala ma hadakum walaAAallakum tashkuroona
