الٓمٓ ﴿١﴾

الم

Alif, Lam, Meem.

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ ﴿٢﴾

Allahu la ilaha illa huwa alhayyu alqayyoomu

خدا (جو معبود برحق ہے) اس کے سوا کوئی عبادت کے لائق نہیں ہمیشہ زندہ رہنے والا

Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence.

نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ ﴿٣﴾

Nazzala AAalayka alkitaba bialhaqqi musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi waanzala alttawrata waalinjeela

اس نے (اے محمدﷺ) تم پر سچی کتاب نازل کی جو پہلی (آسمانی) کتابوں کی تصدیق کرتی ہے اور اسی نے تورات اور انجیل نازل کی

He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel.

مِن قَبْلُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ ﴿٤﴾

Min qablu hudan lilnnasi waanzala alfurqana inna allatheena kafaroo biayati Allahi lahum AAathabun shadeedun waAllahu AAazeezun thoo intiqamin

(یعنی) لوگوں کی ہدایت کے لیے پہلے (تورات اور انجیل اتاری) اور (پھر قرآن جو حق اور باطل کو) الگ الگ کر دینے والا (ہے) نازل کیا جو لوگ خدا کی آیتوں کا انکار کرتے ہیں ان کو سخت عذاب ہوگا اور خدا زبردست (اور) بدلہ لینے والا ہے

Before, as guidance for the people. And He revealed the Qur'an. Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah will have a severe punishment, and Allah is exalted in Might, the Owner of Retribution.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَىْءٌ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ﴿٥﴾

Inna Allaha la yakhfa AAalayhi shayon fee alardi wala fee alssamai

خدا (ایسا خبیر وبصیر ہے کہ) کوئی چیز اس سے پوشیدہ نہیں نہ زمین میں اور نہ آسمان میں

Indeed, from Allah nothing is hidden in the earth nor in the heaven.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ﴿٦﴾

Huwa allathee yusawwirukum fee alarhami kayfa yashao la ilaha illa huwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

وہی تو ہے جو (ماں کے پیٹ میں) جیسی چاہتا ہے تمہاری صورتیں بناتا ہے اس غالب حکمت والے کے سوا کوئی عبادت کے لائق نہیں

It is He who forms you in the wombs however He wills. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايَٰتٌ مُّحْكَمَٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ ٱلْفِتْنَةِ وَٱبْتِغَآءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۦ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ ﴿٧﴾

Huwa allathee anzala AAalayka alkitaba minhu ayatun muhkamatun hunna ommu alkitabi waokharu mutashabihatun faamma allatheena fee quloobihim zayghun fayattabiAAoona ma tashabaha minhu ibtighaa alfitnati waibtighaa taweelihi wama yaAAlamu taweelahu illa Allahu waalrrasikhoona fee alAAilmi yaqooloona amanna bihi kullun min AAindi rabbina wama yaththakkaru illa oloo alalbabi

وہی تو ہے جس نے تم پر کتاب نازل کی جس کی بعض آیتیں محکم ہیں (اور) وہی اصل کتاب ہیں اور بعض متشابہ ہیں تو جن لوگوں کے دلوں میں کجی ہے وہ متشابہات کا اتباع کرتے ہیں تاکہ فتنہ برپا کریں اور مراد اصلی کا پتہ لگائیں حالانکہ مراد اصلی خدا کے سوا کوئی نہیں جانتا اور جو لوگ علم میں دست گاہ کامل رکھتے ہیں وہ یہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ان پر ایمان لائے یہ سب ہمارے پروردگار کی طرف سے ہیں اور نصیحت تو عقل مند ہی قبول کرتے ہیں

It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding.

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ ﴿٨﴾

Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana baAAda ith hadaytana wahab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka anta alwahhabu

اے پروردگار جب تو نے ہمیں ہدایت بخشی ہے تو اس کے بعد ہمارے دلوں میں کجی نہ پیدا کر دیجیو اور ہمیں اپنے ہاں سے نعمت عطا فرما تو تو بڑا عطا فرمانے والا ہے

[Who say], "Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ ﴿٩﴾

Rabbana innaka jamiAAu alnnasi liyawmin la rayba feehi inna Allaha la yukhlifu almeeAAada

اے پروردگار! تو اس روز جس (کے آنے) میں کچھ بھی شک نہیں سب لوگوں کو (اپنے حضور میں) جمع کرلے گا بے شک خدا خلاف وعدہ نہیں کرتا

Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise."

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ ﴿١٠﴾

Inna allatheena kafaroo lan tughniya AAanhum amwaluhum wala awladuhum mina Allahi shayan waolaika hum waqoodu alnnari

جو لوگ کافر ہوئے (اس دن) نہ تو ان کا مال ہی خدا (کے عذاب) سے ان کو بچا سکے گا اور نہ ان کی اولاد ہی (کچھ کام آئے گی) اور یہ لوگ آتش (جہنم) کا ایندھن ہوں گے

Indeed, those who disbelieve - never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all. And it is they who are fuel for the Fire.

كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ ﴿١١﴾

Kadabi ali firAAawna waallatheena min qablihim kaththaboo biayatina faakhathahumu Allahu bithunoobihim waAllahu shadeedu alAAiqabi

ان کا حال بھی فرعونیوں اور ان سے پہلے لوگوں کا سا ہوگا جنہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کی تکذیب کی تھی تو خدا نے ان کو ان کے گناہوں کے سبب (عذاب میں) پکڑ لیا تھا اور خدا سخت عذاب کرنے والا ہے

[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied Our signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in penalty.

قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ ﴿١٢﴾

Qul lillatheena kafaroo satughlaboona watuhsharoona ila jahannama wabisa almihadu

(اے پیغمبر) کافروں سے کہدو کہ تم (دنیا میں بھی) عنقریب مغلوب ہو جاؤ گے اور (آخرت میں) جہنم کی طرف ہانکے جاؤ گے اور وہ بری جگہ ہے

Say to those who disbelieve, "You will be overcome and gathered together to Hell, and wretched is the resting place."

قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ ءَايَةٌ فِى فِئَتَيْنِ ٱلْتَقَتَا فِئَةٌ تُقَٰتِلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُخْرَىٰ كَافِرَةٌ يَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْىَ ٱلْعَيْنِ وَٱللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ ﴿١٣﴾

Qad kana lakum ayatun fee fiatayni iltaqata fiatun tuqatilu fee sabeeli Allahi waokhra kafiratun yarawnahum mithlayhim raya alAAayni waAllahu yuayyidu binasrihi man yashao inna fee thalika laAAibratan liolee alabsari

تمہارے لیے دو گروہوں میں جو (جنگ بدر کے دن) آپس میں بھڑ گئے (قدرت خدا کی عظیم الشان) نشانی تھی ایک گروہ (مسلمانوں کا تھا وہ) خدا کی راہ میں لڑ رہا تھا اور دوسرا گروہ (کافروں کا تھا وہ) ان کو اپنی آنکھوں سے اپنے سے دگنا مشاہدہ کر رہا تھا اور خدا اپنی نصرت سے جس کو چاہتا ہے مدد دیتا ہے جو اہل بصارت ہیں ان کے لیے اس (واقعے) میں بڑی عبرت ہے

Already there has been for you a sign in the two armies which met - one fighting in the cause of Allah and another of disbelievers. They saw them [to be] twice their [own] number by [their] eyesight. But Allah supports with His victory whom He wills. Indeed in that is a lesson for those of vision.

زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْبَنِينَ وَٱلْقَنَٰطِيرِ ٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَٱلْفِضَّةِ وَٱلْخَيْلِ ٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ وَٱلْحَرْثِ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ ٱلْمَـَٔابِ ﴿١٤﴾

Zuyyina lilnnasi hubbu alshshahawati mina alnnisai waalbaneena waalqanateeri almuqantarati mina alththahabi waalfiddati waalkhayli almusawwamati waalanAAami waalharthi thalika mataAAu alhayati alddunya waAllahu AAindahu husnu almaabi

لوگوں کو ان کی خواہشوں کی چیزیں یعنی عورتیں اور بیٹے اور سونے اور چاندی کے بڑے بڑے ڈھیر اور نشان لگے ہوئے گھوڑے اور مویشی اور کھیتی بڑی زینت دار معلوم ہوتی ہیں (مگر) یہ سب دنیا ہی کی زندگی کے سامان ہیں اور خدا کے پاس بہت اچھا ٹھکانا ہے

Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return.

قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم بِخَيْرٍ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمْ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَٰجٌ مُّطَهَّرَةٌ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ ﴿١٥﴾

Qul aonabbiokum bikhayrin min thalikum lillatheena ittaqaw AAinda rabbihim jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha waazwajun mutahharatun waridwanun mina Allahi waAllahu baseerun bialAAibadi

(اے پیغمبر ان سے) کہو کہ بھلا میں تم کو ایسی چیز بتاؤں جو ان چیزوں سے کہیں اچھی ہو (سنو) جو لوگ پرہیزگار ہیں ان کے لیے خدا کے ہاں باغات (بہشت) ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں ان میں وہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے اور پاکیزہ عورتیں ہیں اور (سب سے بڑھ کر) خدا کی خوشنودی اور خدا (اپنے نیک) بندوں کو دیکھ رہا ہے

Say, "Shall I inform you of [something] better than that? For those who fear Allah will be gardens in the presence of their Lord beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally, and purified spouses and approval from Allah. And Allah is Seeing of [His] servants -

ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ﴿١٦﴾

Allatheena yaqooloona rabbana innana amanna faighfir lana thunoobana waqina AAathaba alnnari

جو خدا سے التجا کرتے ہیں کہ اے پروردگار ہم ایمان لے آئے سو ہم کو ہمارے گناہ معاف فرما اور دوزخ کے عذاب سے محفوظ رکھ

Those who say, "Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire,"

ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ ﴿١٧﴾

Alssabireena waalssadiqeena waalqaniteena waalmunfiqeena waalmustaghfireena bialashari

یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جو (مشکلات میں) صبر کرتے اور سچ بولتے اور عبادت میں لگے رہتے اور (راہ خدا میں) خرچ کرتے اور اوقات سحر میں گناہوں کی معافی مانگا کرتے ہیں

The patient, the true, the obedient, those who spend [in the way of Allah], and those who seek forgiveness before dawn.

شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِٱلْقِسْطِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ﴿١٨﴾

Shahida Allahu annahu la ilaha illa huwa waalmalaikatu waoloo alAAilmi qaiman bialqisti la ilaha illa huwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

خدا تو اس بات کی گواہی دیتا ہے کہ اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور فرشتے اور علم والے لوگ جو انصاف پر قائم ہیں وہ بھی (گواہی دیتے ہیں کہ) اس غالب حکمت والے کے سوا کوئی عبادت کے لائق نہیں

Allah witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels and those of knowledge - [that He is] maintaining [creation] in justice. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمُ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ ﴿١٩﴾

Inna alddeena AAinda Allahi alislamu wama ikhtalafa allatheena ootoo alkitaba illa min baAAdi ma jaahumu alAAilmu baghyan baynahum waman yakfur biayati Allahi fainna Allaha sareeAAu alhisabi

دین تو خدا کے نزدیک اسلام ہے اور اہل کتاب نے جو (اس دین سے) اختلاف کیا تو علم ہونے کے بعد آپس کی ضد سے کیا اور جو شخص خدا کی آیتوں کو نہ مانے تو خدا جلد حساب لینے والا (اور سزا دینے والا) ہے

Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah, then indeed, Allah is swift in [taking] account.

فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَٰغُ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ ﴿٢٠﴾

Fain hajjooka faqul aslamtu wajhiya lillahi wamani ittabaAAani waqul lillatheena ootoo alkitaba waalommiyyeena aaslamtum fain aslamoo faqadi ihtadaw wain tawallaw fainnama AAalayka albalaghu waAllahu baseerun bialAAibadi

اے پیغمبر اگر یہ لوگ تم سے جھگڑنے لگیں تو کہنا کہ میں اور میرے پیرو تو خدا کے فرمانبردار ہو چکے اور اہل کتاب اور ان پڑھ لوگوں سے کہو کہ کیا تم بھی (خدا کے فرمانبردار بنتے ہو) اور اسلام لاتے ہو؟ اگر یہ لوگ اسلام لے آئیں تو بے شک ہدایت پالیں اور اگر (تمہارا کہا) نہ مانیں تو تمہارا کام صرف خدا کا پیغام پہنچا دینا ہے اور خدا (اپنے) بندوں کو دیکھ رہا ہے

So if they argue with you, say, "I have submitted myself to Allah [in Islam], and [so have] those who follow me." And say to those who were given the Scripture and [to] the unlearned, "Have you submitted yourselves?" And if they submit [in Islam], they are rightly guided; but if they turn away - then upon you is only the [duty of] notification. And Allah is Seeing of [His] servants.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ﴿٢١﴾

Inna allatheena yakfuroona biayati Allahi wayaqtuloona alnnabiyyeena bighayri haqqin wayaqtuloona allatheena yamuroona bialqisti mina alnnasi fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleemin

جو لوگ خدا کی آیتوں کو نہیں مانتے اور انبیاء کو ناحق قتل کرتے رہے ہیں اور جو انصاف (کرنے) کا حکم دیتے ہیں انہیں بھی مار ڈالتے ہیں ان کو دکھ دینے والے عذاب کی خوشخبری سنا دو

Those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and kill the prophets without right and kill those who order justice from among the people - give them tidings of a painful punishment.

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ ﴿٢٢﴾

Olaika allatheena habitat aAAmaluhum fee alddunya waalakhirati wama lahum min nasireena

یہ ایسے لوگ ہیں جن کے اعمال دنیا اور آخرت دونوں میں برباد ہیں اور ان کا کوئی مددگار نہیں (ہوگا)

They are the ones whose deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and for them there will be no helpers.

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ ﴿٢٣﴾

Alam tara ila allatheena ootoo naseeban mina alkitabi yudAAawna ila kitabi Allahi liyahkuma baynahum thumma yatawalla fareequn minhum wahum muAAridoona

بھلا تم نے ان لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھا جن کو کتاب (خدا یعنی تورات سے) بہرہ دیا گیا اور وہ (اس) کتاب الله کی طرف بلائے جاتے ہیں تاکہ وہ (ان کے تنازعات کا) ان میں فیصلہ کر دے تو ایک فریق ان میں سے کج ادائی کے ساتھ منہ پھیر لیتا ہے

Do you not consider, [O Muhammad], those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Scripture of Allah that it should arbitrate between them; then a party of them turns away, and they are refusing.

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِى دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ ﴿٢٤﴾

Thalika biannahum qaloo lan tamassana alnnaru illa ayyaman maAAdoodatin wagharrahum fee deenihim ma kanoo yaftaroona

یہ اس لیے کہ یہ اس بات کے قائل ہیں کہ (دوزخ کی) آگ ہمیں چند روز کے سوا چھو ہی نہیں سکے گی اور جو کچھ یہ دین کے بارے میں بہتان باندھتے رہے ہیں اس نے ان کو دھوکے میں ڈال رکھا ہے

That is because they say, "Never will the Fire touch us except for [a few] numbered days," and [because] they were deluded in their religion by what they were inventing.

فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَٰهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ ﴿٢٥﴾

Fakayfa itha jamaAAnahum liyawmin la rayba feehi wawuffiyat kullu nafsin ma kasabat wahum la yu<i>th</i>lamoona

تو اس وقت کیا حال ہوگا جب ہم ان کو جمع کریں گے (یعنی) اس روز جس (کے آنے) میں کچھ بھی شک نہیں اور ہر نفس اپنے اعمال کا پورا پورا بدلہ پائے گا اور ان پر ظلم نہیں کیا جائے گا

So how will it be when We assemble them for a Day about which there is no doubt? And each soul will be compensated [in full for] what it earned, and they will not be wronged.

قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَٰلِكَ ٱلْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى ٱلْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيْرُ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿٢٦﴾

Quli allahumma malika almulki tutee almulka man tashao watanziAAu almulka mimman tashao watuAAizzu man tashao watuthillu man tashao biyadika alkhayru innaka AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

کہو کہ اے خدا (اے) بادشاہی کے مالک تو جس کو چاہے بادشاہی بخشے اور جس سے چاہے بادشاہی چھین لے اور جس کو چاہے عزت دے اور جسے چاہے ذلیل کرے ہر طرح کی بھلائی تیرے ہی ہاتھ ہے اور بے شک تو ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

Say, "O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.

تُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَن تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ ﴿٢٧﴾

Tooliju allayla fee alnnahari watooliju alnnahara fee allayli watukhriju alhayya mina almayyiti watukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi watarzuqu man tashao bighayri hisabin

تو ہی رات کو دن میں داخل کرتا اور تو ہی دن کو رات میں داخل کرتا ہے تو ہی بے جان سے جاندار پیدا کرتا ہے اور تو ہی جاندار سے بے جان پیدا کرتا ہے اور توہی جس کو چاہتا ہے بے شمار رزق بخشتا ہے

You cause the night to enter the day, and You cause the day to enter the night; and You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give provision to whom You will without account."

لَّا يَتَّخِذِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ فِى شَىْءٍ إِلَّآ أَن تَتَّقُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ تُقَىٰةً وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ ﴿٢٨﴾

La yattakhithi almuminoona alkafireena awliyaa min dooni almumineena waman yafAAal thalika falaysa mina Allahi fee shayin illa an tattaqoo minhum tuqatan wayuhaththirukumu Allahu nafsahu waila Allahi almaseeru

مؤمنوں کو چاہئے کہ مؤمنوں کے سوا کافروں کو دوست نہ بنائیں اور جو ایسا کرے گا اس سے خدا کا کچھ (عہد) نہیں ہاں اگر اس طریق سے تم ان (کے شر) سے بچاؤ کی صورت پیدا کرو (تو مضائقہ نہیں) اور خدا تم کو اپنے (غضب) سے ڈراتا ہے اور خدا ہی کی طرف (تم کو) لوٹ کر جانا ہے

Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the [final] destination.

قُلْ إِن تُخْفُوا۟ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿٢٩﴾

Qul in tukhfoo ma fee sudoorikum aw tubdoohu yaAAlamhu Allahu wayaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi waAllahu AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

(اے پیغمبر لوگوں سے) کہہ دو کہ کوئی بات تم اپنے دلوں میں مخفی رکھو یا اسے ظاہر کرو خدا اس کو جانتا ہے اور جو کچھ آسمانوں میں اور جو کچھ زمین میں ہے اس کو سب کی خبر ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

Say, "Whether you conceal what is in your breasts or reveal it, Allah knows it. And He knows that which is in the heavens and that which is on the earth. And Allah is over all things competent.

يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مُّحْضَرًا وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوٓءٍ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُۥٓ أَمَدًۢا بَعِيدًا وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ ﴿٣٠﴾

Yawma tajidu kullu nafsin ma AAamilat min khayrin muhdaran wama AAamilat min sooin tawaddu law anna baynaha wabaynahu amadan baAAeedan wayuhaththirukumu Allahu nafsahu waAllahu raoofun bialAAibadi

جس دن ہر شخص اپنے اعمال کی نیکی کو موجود پالے گا اور ان کی برائی کو بھی (دیکھ لے گا) تو آرزو کرے گا کہ اے کاش اس میں اور اس برائی میں دور کی مسافت ہو جاتی اور خدا تم کو اپنے (غضب) سے ڈراتا ہے اور خدا اپنے بندوں پر نہایت مہربان ہے

The Day every soul will find what it has done of good present [before it] and what it has done of evil, it will wish that between itself and that [evil] was a great distance. And Allah warns you of Himself, and Allah is Kind to [His] servants."

قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿٣١﴾

Qul in kuntum tuhibboona Allaha faittabiAAoonee yuhbibkumu Allahu wayaghfir lakum thunoobakum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun

(اے پیغمبر لوگوں سے) کہہ دو کہ اگر تم خدا کو دوست رکھتے ہو تو میری پیروی کرو خدا بھی تمہیں دوست رکھے گا اور تمہارے گناہ معاف کر دے گا اور خدا بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."

قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿٣٢﴾

Qul ateeAAoo Allaha waalrrasoola fain tawallaw fainna Allaha la yuhibbu alkafireena

کہہ دو کہ خدا اور اس کے رسول کا حکم مانو اگر نہ مانیں تو خدا بھی کافروں کو دوست نہیں رکھتا

Say, "Obey Allah and the Messenger." But if they turn away - then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحًا وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ عِمْرَٰنَ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٣٣﴾

Inna Allaha istafa adama wanoohan waala ibraheema waala AAimrana AAala alAAalameena

خدا نے آدم اور نوح اور خاندان ابراہیم اور خاندان عمران کو تمام جہان کے لوگوں میں منتخب فرمایا تھا

Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of 'Imran over the worlds -

ذُرِّيَّةًۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنۢ بَعْضٍ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴿٣٤﴾

Thurriyyatan baAAduha min baAAdin waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun

ان میں سے بعض بعض کی اولاد تھے اور خدا سننے والا (اور) جاننے والا ہے

Descendants, some of them from others. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُ عِمْرَٰنَ رَبِّ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِى بَطْنِى مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّىٓ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ﴿٣٥﴾

Ith qalati imraatu AAimrana rabbi innee nathartu laka ma fee batnee muharraran fataqabbal minnee innaka anta alssameeAAu alAAaleemu

(وہ وقت یاد کرنے کے لائق ہے) جب عمران کی بیوی نے کہا کہ اے پروردگار جو (بچہ) میرے پیٹ میں ہے میں اس کو تیری نذر کرتی ہوں اسے دنیا کے کاموں سے آزاد رکھوں گی تو (اسے) میری طرف سے قبول فرما توتو سننے والا (اور) جاننے والا ہے

[Mention, O Muhammad], when the wife of 'Imran said, "My Lord, indeed I have pledged to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service], so accept this from me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing."

فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَضَعْتُهَآ أُنثَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْ وَلَيْسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلْأُنثَىٰ وَإِنِّى سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَإِنِّىٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ ﴿٣٦﴾

Falamma wadaAAatha qalat rabbi innee wadaAAtuha ontha waAllahu aAAlamu bima wadaAAat walaysa alththakaru kaalontha wainnee sammaytuha maryama wainnee oAAeethuha bika wathurriyyataha mina alshshaytani alrrajeemi

جب ان کے ہاں بچہ پیدا ہوا اور جو کچھ ان کے ہاں پیدا ہوا تھا خدا کو خوب معلوم تھا تو کہنے لگیں کہ پروردگار! میرے تو لڑکی ہوئی ہے اور (نذر کے لیے) لڑکا (موزوں تھا کہ وہ) لڑکی کی طرح (ناتواں) نہیں ہوتا اور میں نے اس کا نام مریم رکھا ہے اور میں اس کو اور اس کی اولاد کو شیطان مردود سے تیری پناہ میں دیتی ہوں

But when she delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female." And Allah was most knowing of what she delivered, "And the male is not like the female. And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allah]."

فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٍ وَأَنۢبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًا وَكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا ٱلْمِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِندَهَا رِزْقًا قَالَ يَٰمَرْيَمُ أَنَّىٰ لَكِ هَٰذَا قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ ﴿٣٧﴾

Fataqabbalaha rabbuha biqaboolin hasanin waanbataha nabatan hasanan wakaffalaha zakariyya kullama dakhala AAalayha zakariyya almihraba wajada AAindaha rizqan qala ya maryamu anna laki hatha qalat huwa min AAindi Allahi inna Allaha yarzuqu man yashao bighayri hisabin

تو پروردگار نے اس کو پسندیدگی کے ساتھ قبول فرمایا اور اسے اچھی طرح پرورش کیا اور زکریا کو اس کا متکفل بنایا زکریا جب کبھی عبادت گاہ میں اس کے پاس جاتے تو اس کے پاس کھانا پاتے (یہ کیفیت دیکھ کر ایک دن مریم سے) پوچھنے لگے کہ مریم یہ کھانا تمہارے پاس کہاں سے آتا ہے وہ بولیں خدا کے ہاں سے (آتا ہے) بیشک خدا جسے چاہتا ہے بے شمار رزق دیتا ہے

So her Lord accepted her with good acceptance and caused her to grow in a good manner and put her in the care of Zechariah. Every time Zechariah entered upon her in the prayer chamber, he found with her provision. He said, "O Mary, from where is this [coming] to you?" She said, "It is from Allah. Indeed, Allah provides for whom He wills without account."

هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ ﴿٣٨﴾

Hunalika daAAa zakariyya rabbahu qala rabbi hab lee min ladunka thurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka sameeAAu aldduAAai

اس وقت زکریا نے اپنے پروردگار سے دعا کی (اور) کہا کہ پروردگار مجھے اپنی جناب سے اولاد صالح عطا فرما تو بے شک دعا سننے (اور قبول کرنے) والا ہے

At that, Zechariah called upon his Lord, saying, "My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication."

فَنَادَتْهُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٌ يُصَلِّى فِى ٱلْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَىٰ مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ﴿٣٩﴾

Fanadathu almalaikatu wahuwa qaimun yusallee fee almihrabi anna Allaha yubashshiruka biyahya musaddiqan bikalimatin mina Allahi wasayyidan wahasooran wanabiyyan mina alssaliheena

وہ ابھی عبادت گاہ میں کھڑے نماز ہی پڑھ رہے تھے کہ فرشتوں نے آواز دی کہ (زکریا) خدا تمہیں یحییٰ کی بشارت دیتا ہے جو خدا کے فیض یعنی (عیسیٰ) کی تصدیق کریں گے اور سردار ہوں گے اور عورتوں سے رغبت نہ رکھنے والے اور (خدا کے) پیغمبر (یعنی) نیکو کاروں میں ہوں گے

So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous."

قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرٌ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ ﴿٤٠﴾

Qala rabbi anna yakoonu lee ghulamun waqad balaghaniya alkibaru waimraatee AAaqirun qala kathalika Allahu yafAAalu ma yashao

زکریا نے کہا اے پروردگار میرے ہاں لڑکا کیونکر پیدا ہوگا کہ میں تو بڈھا ہوگیا ہوں اور میری بیوی بانجھ ہے خدا نے فرمایا اسی طرح خدا جو چاہتا ہے کرتا ہے

He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when I have reached old age and my wife is barren?" The angel said, "Such is Allah; He does what He wills."

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًا وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرًا وَسَبِّحْ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِبْكَٰرِ ﴿٤١﴾

Qala rabbi ijAAal lee ayatan qala ayatuka alla tukallima alnnasa thalathata ayyamin illa ramzan waothkur rabbaka katheeran wasabbih bialAAashiyyi waalibkari

زکریا نے کہا کہ پروردگار (میرے لیے) کوئی نشانی مقرر فرما خدا نے فرمایا نشانی یہ ہے کہ تم لوگوں سے تین دن اشارے کے سوا بات نہ کر سکو گے تو (ان دنوں میں) اپنے پروردگار کی کثرت سے یاد اور صبح و شام اس کی تسبیح کرنا

He said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He Said, "Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except by gesture. And remember your Lord much and exalt [Him with praise] in the evening and the morning."

وَإِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَٱصْطَفَىٰكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَآءِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٤٢﴾

Waith qalati almalaikatu ya maryamu inna Allaha istafaki watahharaki waistafaki AAala nisai alAAalameena

اور جب فرشتوں نے (مریم سے) کہا کہ مریم! خدا نے تم کو برگزیدہ کیا ہے اور پاک بنایا ہے اور جہان کی عورتوں میں منتخب کیا ہے

And [mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds.

يَٰمَرْيَمُ ٱقْنُتِى لِرَبِّكِ وَٱسْجُدِى وَٱرْكَعِى مَعَ ٱلرَّٰكِعِينَ ﴿٤٣﴾

Ya maryamu oqnutee lirabbiki waosjudee wairkaAAee maAAa alrrakiAAeena

مریم اپنے پروردگار کی فرمانبرداری کرنا اور سجدہ کرنا اور رکوع کرنے والوں کے ساتھ رکوع کرنا

O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow [in prayer]."

ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يُلْقُونَ أَقْلَٰمَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ يَكْفُلُ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ ﴿٤٤﴾

Thalika min anbai alghaybi nooheehi ilayka wama kunta ladayhim ith yulqoona aqlamahum ayyuhum yakfulu maryama wama kunta ladayhim ith yakhtasimoona

(اے محمدﷺ) یہ باتیں اخبار غیب میں سے ہیں جو ہم تمہارے پاس بھیجتے ہیں اور جب وہ لوگ اپنے قلم (بطور قرعہ) ڈال رہے تھے کہ مریم کا متکفل کون بنے تو تم ان کے پاس نہیں تھے اور نہ اس وقت ہی ان کے پاس تھے جب وہ آپس میں جھگڑ رہے تھے

That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them should be responsible for Mary. Nor were you with them when they disputed.

إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنْهُ ٱسْمُهُ ٱلْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَجِيهًا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ ﴿٤٥﴾

Ith qalati almalaikatu ya maryamu inna Allaha yubashshiruki bikalimatin minhu ismuhu almaseehu AAeesa ibnu maryama wajeehan fee alddunya waalakhirati wamina almuqarrabeena

(وہ وقت بھی یاد کرنے کے لائق ہے) جب فرشتوں نے (مریم سے کہا) کہ مریم خدا تم کو اپنی طرف سے ایک فیض کی بشارت دیتا ہے جس کا نام مسیح (اور مشہور) عیسیٰ ابن مریم ہوگا (اور) جو دنیا اور آخرت میں باآبرو اور (خدا کے) خاصوں میں سے ہوگا

[And mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah].

وَيُكَلِّمُ ٱلنَّاسَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ وَكَهْلًا وَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ﴿٤٦﴾

Wayukallimu alnnasa fee almahdi wakahlan wamina alssaliheena

اور ماں کی گود میں اور بڑی عمر کا ہو کر (دونوں حالتوں میں) لوگوں سے (یکساں) گفتگو کرے گا اور نیکو کاروں میں ہوگا

He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous."

قَالَتْ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى وَلَدٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ ٱللَّهُ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ ﴿٤٧﴾

Qalat rabbi anna yakoonu lee waladun walam yamsasnee basharun qala kathaliki Allahu yakhluqu ma yashao itha qada amran fainnama yaqoolu lahu kun fayakoonu

مریم نے کہا پروردگار میرے ہاں بچہ کیونکر ہوگا کہ کسی انسان نے مجھے ہاتھ تک تو لگایا نہیں فرمایا کہ خدا اسی طرح جو چاہتا ہے پیدا کرتا ہے جب وہ کوئی کام کرنا چاہتا ہے تو ارشاد فرما دیتا ہے کہ ہوجا تو وہ ہو جاتا ہے

She said, "My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allah; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is.

وَيُعَلِّمُهُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ ﴿٤٨﴾

WayuAAallimuhu alkitaba waalhikmata waalttawrata waalinjeela

اور وہ انہیں لکھنا (پڑھنا) اور دانائی اور تورات اور انجیل سکھائے گا

And He will teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel

وَرَسُولًا إِلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ أَنِّى قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ أَنِّىٓ أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطِّينِ كَهَيْـَٔةِ ٱلطَّيْرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًۢا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُبْرِئُ ٱلْأَكْمَهَ وَٱلْأَبْرَصَ وَأُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا تَأْكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٤٩﴾

Warasoolan ila banee israeela annee qad jitukum biayatin min rabbikum annee akhluqu lakum mina altteeni kahayati alttayri faanfukhu feehi fayakoonu tayran biithni Allahi waobrio alakmaha waalabrasa waohyee almawta biithni Allahi waonabbiokum bima takuloona wama taddakhiroona fee buyootikum inna fee thalika laayatan lakum in kuntum mumineena

اور (عیسیٰ) بنی اسرائیل کی طرف پیغمبر (ہو کر جائیں گے اور کہیں گے) کہ میں تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے نشانی لے کر آیا ہوں وہ یہ کہ تمہارے سامنے مٹی کی مورت بشکل پرند بناتا ہوں پھر اس میں پھونک مارتا ہوں تو وہ خدا کے حکم سے (سچ مچ) جانور ہو جاتا ہے اور اندھے اور ابرص کو تندرست کر دیتا ہوں اور خدا کے حکم سے مردے میں جان ڈال دیتا ہوں اور جو کچھ تم کھا کر آتے ہو اور جو اپنے گھروں میں جمع کر رکھتے ہو سب تم کو بتا دیتا ہوں اگر تم صاحب ایمان ہو تو ان باتوں میں تمہارے لیے (قدرت خدا کی) نشانی ہے

And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah. And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.

وَمُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَكُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى حُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَجِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ﴿٥٠﴾

Wamusaddiqan lima bayna yadayya mina alttawrati waliohilla lakum baAAda allathee hurrima AAalaykum wajitukum biayatin min rabbikum faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni

اور مجھ سے پہلے جو تورات (نازل ہوئی) تھی اس کی تصدیق بھی کرتا ہوں اور (میں) اس لیے بھی (آیا ہوں) کہ بعض چیزیں جو تم پر حرام تھیں ان کو تمہارے لیے حلال کر دوں اور میں تو تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے نشانی لے کر آیا ہوں تو خدا سے ڈرو اور میرا کہا مانو

And [I have come] confirming what was before me of the Torah and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear Allah and obey me.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ ﴿٥١﴾

Inna Allaha rabbee warabbukum faoAAbudoohu hatha siratun mustaqeemun

کچھ شک نہیں کہ خدا ہی میرا اور تمہارا پروردگار ہے تو اسی کی عبادت کرو یہی سیدھا رستہ ہے

Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is the straight path."

فَلَمَّآ أَحَسَّ عِيسَىٰ مِنْهُمُ ٱلْكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنْ أَنصَارِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ قَالَ ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ ٱللَّهِ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَٱشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ ﴿٥٢﴾

Falamma ahassa AAeesa minhumu alkufra qala man ansaree ila Allahi qala alhawariyyoona nahnu ansaru Allahi amanna biAllahi waishhad bianna muslimoona

جب عیسیٰؑ نے ان کی طرف سے نافرمانی اور (نیت قتل) دیکھی تو کہنے لگے کہ کوئی ہے جو خدا کا طرف دار اور میرا مددگار ہو حواری بولے کہ ہم خدا کے (طرفدار اور آپ کے) مددگار ہیں ہم خدا پر ایمان لائے اور آپ گواہ رہیں کہ ہم فرمانبردار ہیں

But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, "Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah?" The disciples said, "We are supporters for Allah. We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him].

رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا بِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ وَٱتَّبَعْنَا ٱلرَّسُولَ فَٱكْتُبْنَا مَعَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ ﴿٥٣﴾

Rabbana amanna bima anzalta waittabaAAna alrrasoola faoktubna maAAa alshshahideena

اے پروردگار جو (کتاب) تو نے نازل فرمائی ہے ہم اس پر ایمان لے آئے اور (تیرے) پیغمبر کے متبع ہو چکے تو ہم کو ماننے والوں میں لکھ رکھ

Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and have followed the messenger Jesus, so register us among the witnesses [to truth]."

وَمَكَرُوا۟ وَمَكَرَ ٱللَّهُ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْمَٰكِرِينَ ﴿٥٤﴾

Wamakaroo wamakara Allahu waAllahu khayru almakireena

اور وہ (یعنی یہود قتل عیسیٰ کے بارے میں ایک) چال چلے اور خدا بھی (عیسیٰ کو بچانے کے لیے) چال چلا اور خدا خوب چال چلنے والا ہے

And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners.

إِذْ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّى مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ فِيمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ ﴿٥٥﴾

Ith qala Allahu ya AAeesa innee mutawaffeeka warafiAAuka ilayya wamutahhiruka mina allatheena kafaroo wajaAAilu allatheena ittabaAAooka fawqa allatheena kafaroo ila yawmi alqiyamati thumma ilayya marjiAAukum faahkumu baynakum feema kuntum feehi takhtalifoona

اس وقت خدا نے فرمایا کہ عیسیٰ! میں تمہاری دنیا میں رہنے کی مدت پوری کرکے تم کو اپنی طرف اٹھا لوں گا اور تمہیں کافروں (کی صحبت) سے پاک کر دوں گا اور جو لوگ تمہاری پیروی کریں گے ان کو کافروں پر قیامت تک فائق (وغالب) رکھوں گا پھر تم سب میرے پاس لوٹ کر آؤ گے تو جن باتوں میں تم اختلاف کرتے تھے اس دن تم میں ان کا فیصلہ کردوں گا

[Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ ﴿٥٦﴾

Faamma allatheena kafaroo faoAAaththibuhum AAathaban shadeedan fee alddunya waalakhirati wama lahum min nasireena

یعنی جو کافر ہوئے ان کو دنیا اور آخرت (دونوں) میں سخت عذاب دوں گا اور ان کا کوئی مددگار نہ ہوگا

And as for those who disbelieved, I will punish them with a severe punishment in this world and the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers."

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿٥٧﴾

Waamma allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati fayuwaffeehim ojoorahum waAllahu la yuhibbu al<i>thth</i>alimeena

اور جو ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے ان کو خدا پورا پورا صلہ دے گا اور خدا ظالموں کو دوست نہیں رکھتا

But as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their rewards, and Allah does not like the wrongdoers.

ذَٰلِكَ نَتْلُوهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ وَٱلذِّكْرِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ ﴿٥٨﴾

Thalika natloohu AAalayka mina alayati waalththikri alhakeemi

(اے محمدﷺ) یہ ہم تم کو (خدا کی) آیتیں اور حکمت بھری نصیحتیں پڑھ پڑھ کر سناتے ہیں

This is what We recite to you, [O Muhammad], of [Our] verses and the precise [and wise] message.

إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ ﴿٥٩﴾

Inna mathala AAeesa AAinda Allahi kamathali adama khalaqahu min turabin thumma qala lahu kun fayakoonu

عیسیٰ کا حال خدا کے نزدیک آدم کا سا ہے کہ اس نے (پہلے) مٹی سے ان کا قالب بنایا پھر فرمایا کہ (انسان) ہو جا تو وہ (انسان) ہو گئے

Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was.

ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ ﴿٦٠﴾

Alhaqqu min rabbika fala takun mina almumtareena

(یہ بات) تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے حق ہے تو تم ہرگز شک کرنے والوں میں نہ ہونا

The truth is from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters.

فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ ﴿٦١﴾

Faman hajjaka feehi min baAAdi ma jaaka mina alAAilmi faqul taAAalaw nadAAu abnaana waabnaakum wanisaana wanisaakum waanfusana waanfusakum thumma nabtahil fanajAAal laAAnata Allahi AAala alkathibeena

پھر اگر یہ لوگ عیسیٰ کے بارے میں تم سے جھگڑا کریں اور تم کو حقیقت الحال تو معلوم ہو ہی چلی ہے تو ان سے کہنا کہ آؤ ہم اپنے بیٹوں اور عورتوں کو بلائیں تم اپنے بیٹوں اور عورتوں کو بلاؤ اور ہم خود بھی آئیں اور تم خود بھی آؤ پھر دونوں فریق (خدا سے) دعا والتجا کریں اور جھوٹوں پر خدا کی لعنت بھیجیں

Then whoever argues with you about it after [this] knowledge has come to you - say, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then supplicate earnestly [together] and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars [among us]."

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْقَصَصُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ﴿٦٢﴾

Inna hatha lahuwa alqasasu alhaqqu wama min ilahin illa Allahu wainna Allaha lahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

یہ تمام بیانات صحیح ہیں اور خدا کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور بیشک خدا غالب اور صاحبِ حکمت ہے

Indeed, this is the true narration. And there is no deity except Allah. And indeed, Allah is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ ﴿٦٣﴾

Fain tawallaw fainna Allaha AAaleemun bialmufsideena

تو اگر یہ لوگ پھر جائیں تو خدا مفسدوں کو خوب جانتا ہے

But if they turn away, then indeed - Allah is Knowing of the corrupters.

قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٍ سَوَآءٍۭ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلَّا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقُولُوا۟ ٱشْهَدُوا۟ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ ﴿٦٤﴾

Qul ya ahla alkitabi taAAalaw ila kalimatin sawain baynana wabaynakum alla naAAbuda illa Allaha wala nushrika bihi shayan wala yattakhitha baAAduna baAAdan arbaban min dooni Allahi fain tawallaw faqooloo ishhadoo bianna muslimoona

کہہ دو کہ اے اہل کتاب جو بات ہمارے اور تمہارے دونوں کے درمیان یکساں (تسلیم کی گئی) ہے اس کی طرف آؤ وہ یہ کہ خدا کے سوا ہم کسی کی عبادت نہ کریں اور اس کے ساتھ کسی چیز کو شریک نہ بنائیں اور ہم میں سے کوئی کسی کو خدا کے سوا اپنا کار ساز نہ سمجھے اگر یہ لوگ (اس بات کو) نہ مانیں تو (ان سے) کہہ دو کہ تم گواہ رہو کہ ہم (خدا کے) فرماں بردار ہیں

Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you - that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]."

يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَتِ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ وَٱلْإِنجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿٦٥﴾

Ya ahla alkitabi lima tuhajjoona fee ibraheema wama onzilati alttawratu waalinjeelu illa min baAAdihi afala taAAqiloona

اے اہلِ کتاب تم ابراہیم کے بارے میں کیوں جھگڑتے ہو حالانکہ تورات اور انجیل ان کے بعد اتری ہیں (اور وہ پہلے ہو چکے ہیں) تو کیا تم عقل نہیں رکھتے

O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?

هَٰٓأَنتُمْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ حَٰجَجْتُمْ فِيمَا لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِيمَا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٦٦﴾

Haantum haolai hajajtum feema lakum bihi AAilmun falima tuhajjoona feema laysa lakum bihi AAilmun waAllahu yaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona

دیکھو ایسی بات میں تو تم نے جھگڑا کیا ہی تھا جس کا تمہیں کچھ علم تھا بھی مگر ایسی بات میں کیوں جھگڑتے ہو جس کا تمہیں کچھ بھی علم نہیں اور خدا جانتا ہے اور تم نہیں جانتے

Here you are - those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows, while you know not.

مَا كَانَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّا وَلَٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفًا مُّسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ﴿٦٧﴾

Ma kana ibraheemu yahoodiyyan wala nasraniyyan walakin kana haneefan musliman wama kana mina almushrikeena

ابراہیم نہ تو یہودی تھے اور نہ عیسائی بلکہ سب سے بے تعلق ہو کر ایک (خدا) کے ہو رہے تھے اور اسی کے فرماں بردار تھے اور مشرکوں میں نہ تھے

Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah]. And he was not of the polytheists.

إِنَّ أَوْلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِإِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَٰذَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِىُّ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿٦٨﴾

Inna awla alnnasi biibraheema lallatheena ittabaAAoohu wahatha alnnabiyyu waallatheena amanoo waAllahu waliyyu almumineena

ابراہیم سے قرب رکھنے والے تو وہ لوگ ہیں جو ان کی پیروی کرتے ہیں اور پیغمبر (آخرالزمان) اور وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے ہیں اور خدا مومنوں کا کارساز ہے

Indeed, the most worthy of Abraham among the people are those who followed him [in submission to Allah] and this prophet, and those who believe [in his message]. And Allah is the ally of the believers.

وَدَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ ﴿٦٩﴾

Waddat taifatun min ahli alkitabi law yudilloonakum wama yudilloona illa anfusahum wama yashAAuroona

(اے اہل اسلام) بعضے اہلِ کتاب اس بات کی خواہش رکھتے ہیں کہ تم کو گمراہ کر دیں مگر یہ (تم کو کیا گمراہ کریں گے) اپنے آپ کو ہی گمراہ کر رہے ہیں اور نہیں جانتے

A faction of the people of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they perceive [it] not.

يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ ﴿٧٠﴾

Ya ahla alkitabi lima takfuroona biayati Allahi waantum tashhadoona

اے اہلِ کتاب تم خدا کی آیتوں سے کیوں انکار کرتے ہو اور تم (تورات کو) مانتے تو ہو

O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while you witness [to their truth]?

يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ ٱلْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٧١﴾

Ya ahla alkitabi lima talbisoona alhaqqa bialbatili wataktumoona alhaqqa waantum taAAlamoona

اے اہلِ کتاب تم سچ کو جھوٹ کے ساتھ خلط ملط کیوں کرتے ہو اور حق کو کیوں چھپاتے ہو اور تم جانتے بھی ہو

O People of the Scripture, why do you confuse the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know [it]?

وَقَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَجْهَ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱكْفُرُوٓا۟ ءَاخِرَهُۥ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿٧٢﴾

Waqalat taifatun min ahli alkitabi aminoo biallathee onzila AAala allatheena amanoo wajha alnnahari waokfuroo akhirahu laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

اور اہلِ کتاب ایک دوسرے سے کہتے ہیں کہ جو (کتاب) مومنوں پر نازل ہوئی ہے اس پر دن کے شروع میں تو ایمان لے آیا کرو اور اس کے آخر میں انکار کر دیا کرو تاکہ وہ (اسلام سے) برگشتہ ہو جائیں

And a faction of the People of the Scripture say [to each other], "Believe in that which was revealed to the believers at the beginning of the day and reject it at its end that perhaps they will abandon their religion,

وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴿٧٣﴾

Wala tuminoo illa liman tabiAAa deenakum qul inna alhuda huda Allahi an yuta ahadun mithla ma ooteetum aw yuhajjookum AAinda rabbikum qul inna alfadla biyadi Allahi yuteehi man yashao waAllahu wasiAAun AAaleemun

اور اپنے دین کے پیرو کے سوا کسی اور کے قائل نہ ہونا (اے پیغمبر) کہہ دو کہ ہدایت تو خدا ہی کی ہدایت ہے (وہ یہ بھی کہتے ہیں) یہ بھی (نہ ماننا) کہ جو چیز تم کو ملی ہے ویسی کسی اور کو ملے گی یا وہ تمہیں خدا کے روبرو قائل معقول کر سکیں گے یہ بھی کہہ دو کہ بزرگی خدا ہی کے ہاتھ میں ہے وہ جسے چاہتا ہے دیتا ہے اور خدا کشائش والا (اور) علم والا ہے

And do not trust except those who follow your religion." Say, "Indeed, the [true] guidance is the guidance of Allah. [Do you fear] lest someone be given [knowledge] like you were given or that they would [thereby] argue with you before your Lord?" Say, "Indeed, [all] bounty is in the hand of Allah - He grants it to whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Wise."

يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ﴿٧٤﴾

Yakhtassu birahmatihi man yashao waAllahu thoo alfadli alAAa<i>th</i>eemi

وہ اپنی رحمت سے جس کو چاہتا ہے خاص کر لیتا ہے اور خدا بڑے فضل کا مالک ہے

He selects for His mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the possessor of great bounty.

وَمِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَّا يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَآئِمًا ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِى ٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٧٥﴾

Wamin ahli alkitabi man in tamanhu biqintarin yuaddihi ilayka waminhum man in tamanhu bideenarin la yuaddihi ilayka illa ma dumta AAalayhi qaiman thalika biannahum qaloo laysa AAalayna fee alommiyyeena sabeelun wayaqooloona AAala Allahi alkathiba wahum yaAAlamoona

اور اہلِ کتاب میں سے کوئی تو ایسا ہے کہ اگر تم اس کے پاس (روپوں کا) ڈھیر امانت رکھ دو تو تم کو (فوراً) واپس دے دے اور کوئی اس طرح کا ہے کہ اگر اس کے پاس ایک دینار بھی امانت رکھو تو جب تک اس کے سر پر ہر وقت کھڑے نہ رہو تمہیں دے ہی نہیں یہ اس لیے کہ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ امیوں کے بارے میں ہم سے مواخذہ نہیں ہوگا یہ خدا پر محض جھوٹ بولتے ہیں اور (اس بات کو) جانتے بھی ہیں

And among the People of the Scripture is he who, if you entrust him with a great amount [of wealth], he will return it to you. And among them is he who, if you entrust him with a [single] silver coin, he will not return it to you unless you are constantly standing over him [demanding it]. That is because they say, "There is no blame upon us concerning the unlearned." And they speak untruth about Allah while they know [it].

بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَٱتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿٧٦﴾

Bala man awfa biAAahdihi waittaqa fainna Allaha yuhibbu almuttaqeena

ہاں جو شخص اپنے اقرار کو پورا کرے اور (خدا سے) ڈرے تو خدا ڈرنے والوں کو دوست رکھتا ہے

But yes, whoever fulfills his commitment and fears Allah - then indeed, Allah loves those who fear Him.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَيْمَٰنِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَا خَلَٰقَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿٧٧﴾

Inna allatheena yashtaroona biAAahdi Allahi waaymanihim thamanan qaleelan olaika la khalaqa lahum fee alakhirati wala yukallimuhumu Allahu wala yan<i>th</i>uru ilayhim yawma alqiyamati wala yuzakkeehim walahum AAathabun aleemun

جو لوگ خدا کے اقراروں اور اپنی قسموں (کو بیچ ڈالتے ہیں اور ان) کے عوض تھوڑی سی قیمت حاصل کرتے ہیں ان کا آخرت میں کچھ حصہ نہیں ان سے خدا نہ تو کلام کرے گا اور نہ قیامت کے روز ان کی طرف دیکھے گا اور نہ ان کو پاک کرے گا اور ان کو دکھ دینے والا عذاب ہوگا

Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter, and Allah will not speak to them or look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them; and they will have a painful punishment.

وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقًا يَلْوُۥنَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٧٨﴾

Wainna minhum lafareeqan yalwoona alsinatahum bialkitabi litahsaboohu mina alkitabi wama huwa mina alkitabi wayaqooloona huwa min AAindi Allahi wama huwa min AAindi Allahi wayaqooloona AAala Allahi alkathiba wahum yaAAlamoona

اور ان (اہلِ کتاب) میں بعضے ایسے ہیں کہ کتاب (تورات) کو زبان مروڑ مروڑ کر پڑھتے ہیں تاکہ تم سمجھو کہ جو کچھ وہ پڑھتے ہیں کتاب میں سے ہے حالانکہ وہ کتاب میں سے نہیں ہے اور کہتے ہیں کہ وہ خدا کی طرف سے (نازل ہوا) ہے حالانکہ وہ خدا کی طرف سے نہیں ہوتا اور خدا پر جھوٹ بولتے ہیں اور (یہ بات) جانتے بھی ہیں

And indeed, there is among them a party who alter the Scripture with their tongues so you may think it is from the Scripture, but it is not from the Scripture. And they say, "This is from Allah," but it is not from Allah. And they speak untruth about Allah while they know.

مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا۟ عِبَادًا لِّى مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَٰكِن كُونُوا۟ رَبَّٰنِيِّـۧنَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ ﴿٧٩﴾

Ma kana libasharin an yutiyahu Allahu alkitaba waalhukma waalnnubuwwata thumma yaqoola lilnnasi koonoo AAibadan lee min dooni Allahi walakin koonoo rabbaniyyeena bima kuntum tuAAallimoona alkitaba wabima kuntum tadrusoona

کسی آدمی کو شایاں نہیں کہ خدا تو اسے کتاب اور حکومت اور نبوت عطا فرمائے اور وہ لوگوں سے کہے کہ خدا کو چھوڑ کر میرے بندے ہو جاؤ بلکہ (اس کو یہ کہنا سزاوار ہے کہ اے اہلِ کتاب) تم (علمائے) ربانی ہو جاؤ کیونکہ تم کتابِ (خدا) پڑھتے پڑھاتے رہتے ہو

It is not for a human [prophet] that Allah should give him the Scripture and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allah," but [instead, he would say], "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied."

وَلَا يَأْمُرَكُمْ أَن تَتَّخِذُوا۟ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ أَرْبَابًا أَيَأْمُرُكُم بِٱلْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ ﴿٨٠﴾

Wala yamurakum an tattakhithoo almalaikata waalnnabiyyeena arbaban ayamurukum bialkufri baAAda ith antum muslimoona

اور اس کو یہ بھی نہیں کہنا چاہیے کہ تم فرشتوں اور پیغمبروں کو خدا بنالو بھلا جب تم مسلمان ہو چکے تو کیا اسے زیبا ہے کہ تمہیں کافر ہونے کو کہے

Nor could he order you to take the angels and prophets as lords. Would he order you to disbelief after you had been Muslims?

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ لَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَٰبٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِۦ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥ قَالَ ءَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِى قَالُوٓا۟ أَقْرَرْنَا قَالَ فَٱشْهَدُوا۟ وَأَنَا۠ مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ ﴿٨١﴾

Waith akhatha Allahu meethaqa alnnabiyyeena lama ataytukum min kitabin wahikmatin thumma jaakum rasoolun musaddiqun lima maAAakum latuminunna bihi walatansurunnahu qala aaqrartum waakhathtum AAala thalikum isree qaloo aqrarna qala faishhadoo waana maAAakum mina alshshahideena

اور جب خدا نے پیغمبروں سے عہد لیا کہ جب میں تم کو کتاب اور دانائی عطا کروں پھر تمہارے پاس کوئی پیغمبر آئے جو تمہاری کتاب کی تصدیق کرے تو تمھیں ضرور اس پر ایمان لانا ہوگا اور ضرور اس کی مدد کرنی ہوگی اور (عہد لینے کے بعد) پوچھا کہ بھلا تم نے اقرار کیا اور اس اقرار پر میرا ذمہ لیا (یعنی مجھے ضامن ٹہرایا) انہوں نے کہا (ہاں) ہم نے اقرار کیا (خدا نے) فرمایا کہ تم (اس عہد وپیمان کے) گواہ رہو اور میں بھی تمہارے ساتھ گواہ ہوں

And [recall, O People of the Scripture], when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, [saying], "Whatever I give you of the Scripture and wisdom and then there comes to you a messenger confirming what is with you, you [must] believe in him and support him." [Allah] said, "Have you acknowledged and taken upon that My commitment?" They said, "We have acknowledged it." He said, "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses."

فَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ ﴿٨٢﴾

Faman tawalla baAAda thalika faolaika humu alfasiqoona

تو جو اس کے بعد پھر جائیں وہ بد کردار ہیں

And whoever turned away after that - they were the defiantly disobedient.

أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ ٱللَّهِ يَبْغُونَ وَلَهُۥٓ أَسْلَمَ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ ﴿٨٣﴾

Afaghayra deeni Allahi yabghoona walahu aslama man fee alssamawati waalardi tawAAan wakarhan wailayhi yurjaAAoona

کیا یہ (کافر) خدا کے دین کے سوا کسی اور دین کے طالب ہیں حالانکہ سب اہلِ آسمان و زمین خوشی یا زبردستی سے خدا کے فرماں بردار ہیں اور اسی کی طرف لوٹ کر جانے والے ہیں

So is it other than the religion of Allah they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned?

قُلْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ ﴿٨٤﴾

Qul amanna biAllahi wama onzila AAalayna wama onzila AAala ibraheema waismaAAeela waishaqa wayaAAqooba waalasbati wama ootiya moosa waAAeesa waalnnabiyyoona min rabbihim la nufarriqu bayna ahadin minhum wanahnu lahu muslimoona

کہو کہ ہم خدا پر ایمان لائے اور جو کتاب ہم پر نازل ہوئی اور جو صحیفے ابراہیم اور اسماعیل اور اسحٰق اور یعقوب اور ان کی اولاد پر اترے اور جو کتابیں موسیٰ اور عیسیٰ اور دوسرے انبیاء کو پروردگار کی طرف سے ملیں سب پر ایمان لائے ہم ان پیغمبروں میں سے کسی میں کچھ فرق نہیں کرتے اور ہم اسی (خدائے واحد) کے فرماں بردار ہیں

Say, "We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him."

وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ دِينًا فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ ﴿٨٥﴾

Waman yabtaghi ghayra alislami deenan falan yuqbala minhu wahuwa fee alakhirati mina alkhasireena

اور جو شخص اسلام کے سوا کسی اور دین کا طالب ہوگا وہ اس سے ہرگز قبول نہیں کیا جائے گا اور ایسا شخص آخرت میں نقصان اٹھانے والوں میں ہوگا

And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.

كَيْفَ يَهْدِى ٱللَّهُ قَوْمًا كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلرَّسُولَ حَقٌّ وَجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿٨٦﴾

Kayfa yahdee Allahu qawman kafaroo baAAda eemanihim washahidoo anna alrrasoola haqqun wajaahumu albayyinatu waAllahu la yahdee alqawma al<i>thth</i>alimeena

خدا ایسے لوگوں کو کیونکر ہدایت دے جو ایمان لانے کے بعد کافر ہوگئے اور (پہلے) اس بات کی گواہی دے چکے کہ یہ پیغمبر برحق ہے اور ان کے پاس دلائل بھی آگئے اور خدا بے انصافوں کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا

How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true and clear signs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿٨٧﴾

Olaika jazaohum anna AAalayhim laAAnata Allahi waalmalaikati waalnnasi ajmaAAeena

ان لوگوں کی سزا یہ ہے کہ ان پر خدا کی اور فرشتوں کی اور انسانوں کی سب کی لعنت ہو

Those - their recompense will be that upon them is the curse of Allah and the angels and the people, all together,

خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ ﴿٨٨﴾

Khalideena feeha la yukhaffafu AAanhumu alAAathabu wala hum yun<i>th</i>aroona

ہمیشہ اس لعنت میں (گرفتار) رہیں گے ان سے نہ تو عذاب ہلکا کیا جائے گا اور نہ انہیں مہلت دے جائے گی

Abiding eternally therein. The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be reprieved.

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿٨٩﴾

Illa allatheena taboo min baAAdi thalika waaslahoo fainna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

ہاں جنہوں نے اس کے بعد توبہ کی اور اپنی حالت درست کر لی تو خدا بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

Except for those who repent after that and correct themselves. For indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ ثُمَّ ٱزْدَادُوا۟ كُفْرًا لَّن تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ﴿٩٠﴾

Inna allatheena kafaroo baAAda eemanihim thumma izdadoo kufran lan tuqbala tawbatuhum waolaika humu alddalloona

جو لوگ ایمان لانے کے بعد کافر ہو گئے پھر کفر میں بڑھتے گئے ایسوں کی توبہ ہرگز قبول نہ ہوگی اور یہ لوگ گمراہ ہیں

Indeed, those who reject the message after their belief and then increase in disbelief - never will their [claimed] repentance be accepted, and they are the ones astray.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَمَاتُوا۟ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْ أَحَدِهِم مِّلْءُ ٱلْأَرْضِ ذَهَبًا وَلَوِ ٱفْتَدَىٰ بِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ ﴿٩١﴾

Inna allatheena kafaroo wamatoo wahum kuffarun falan yuqbala min ahadihim milo alardi thahaban walawi iftada bihi olaika lahum AAathabun aleemun wama lahum min nasireena

جو لوگ کافر ہوئے اور کفر ہی کی حالت میں مر گئے وہ اگر (نجات حاصل کرنی چاہیں اور) بدلے میں زمین بھر کر سونا دیں تو ہرگز قبول نہ کیا جائے گا ان لوگوں کو دکھ دینے والا عذاب ہو گا اور ان کی کوئی مدد نہیں کرے گا

Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.

لَن تَنَالُوا۟ ٱلْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِن شَىْءٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمٌ ﴿٩٢﴾

Lan tanaloo albirra hatta tunfiqoo mimma tuhibboona wama tunfiqoo min shayin fainna Allaha bihi AAaleemun

(مومنو!) جب تک تم ان چیزوں میں سے جو تمھیں عزیز ہیں (راہِ خدا میں) صرف نہ کرو گے کبھی نیکی حاصل نہ کر سکو گے اور جو چیز تم صرف کرو گے خدا اس کو جانتا ہے

Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the way of Allah] from that which you love. And whatever you spend - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.

كُلُّ ٱلطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّا لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تُنَزَّلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ فَٱتْلُوهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿٩٣﴾

Kullu alttaAAami kana hillan libanee israeela illa ma harrama israeelu AAala nafsihi min qabli an tunazzala alttawratu qul fatoo bialttawrati faotlooha in kuntum sadiqeena

بنی اسرائیل کے لیے (تورات کے نازل ہونے سے) پہلے کھانے کی تمام چیزیں حلال تھیں بجز ان کے جو یعقوب نے خود اپنے اوپر حرام کر لی تھیں کہہ دو کہ اگر سچے ہو تو تورات لاؤ اور اسے پڑھو (یعنی دلیل پیش کرو)

All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel had made unlawful to himself before the Torah was revealed. Say, [O Muhammad], "So bring the Torah and recite it, if you should be truthful."

فَمَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ ﴿٩٤﴾

Famani iftara AAala Allahi alkathiba min baAAdi thalika faolaika humu al<i>th</i>alimoona

جو اس کے بعد بھی خدا پر جھوٹے افترا کریں تو ایسے لوگ ہی بےانصاف ہیں

And whoever invents about Allah untruth after that - then those are [truly] the wrongdoers.

قُلْ صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ فَٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ﴿٩٥﴾

Qul sadaqa Allahu faittabiAAoo millata ibraheema haneefan wama kana mina almushrikeena

کہہ دو کہ خدا نے سچ فرمایا دیا پس دین ابراہیم کی پیروی کرو جو سب سے بےتعلق ہو کر ایک (خدا) کے ہو رہے تھے اور مشرکوں سے نہ تھے

Say, "Allah has told the truth. So follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he was not of the polytheists."

إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِى بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٩٦﴾

Inna awwala baytin wudiAAa lilnnasi lallathee bibakkata mubarakan wahudan lilAAalameena

پہلا گھر جو لوگوں (کے عبادت کرنے) کے لیے مقرر کیا گیا تھا وہی ہے جو مکے میں ہے بابرکت اور جہاں کے لیے موجبِ ہدایت

Indeed, the first House [of worship] established for mankind was that at Makkah - blessed and a guidance for the worlds.

فِيهِ ءَايَٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَٰتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِنًا وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٩٧﴾

Feehi ayatun bayyinatun maqamu ibraheema waman dakhalahu kana aminan walillahi AAala alnnasi hijju albayti mani istataAAa ilayhi sabeelan waman kafara fainna Allaha ghaniyyun AAani alAAalameena

اس میں کھلی ہوئی نشانیاں ہیں جن میں سے ایک ابراہیم کے کھڑے ہونے کی جگہ ہے جو شخص اس (مبارک) گھر میں داخل ہوا اس نے امن پا لیا اور لوگوں پر خدا کا حق (یعنی فرض) ہے کہ جو اس گھر تک جانے کا مقدور رکھے وہ اس کا حج کرے اور جو اس حکم کی تعمیل نہ کرے گا تو خدا بھی اہلِ عالم سے بے نیاز ہے

In it are clear signs [such as] the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it shall be safe. And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves - then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.

قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿٩٨﴾

Qul ya ahla alkitabi lima takfuroona biayati Allahi waAllahu shaheedun AAala ma taAAmaloona

کہو کہ اہلِ کتاب! تم خدا کی آیتوں سے کیوں کفر کرتے ہو اور خدا تمہارے سب اعمال سے باخبر ہے

Say, "O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while Allah is Witness over what you do?"

قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَأَنتُمْ شُهَدَآءُ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿٩٩﴾

Qul ya ahla alkitabi lima tasuddoona AAan sabeeli Allahi man amana tabghoonaha AAiwajan waantum shuhadao wama Allahu bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona

کہو کہ اہلِ کتاب تم مومنوں کو خدا کے رستے سے کیوں روکتے ہو اور باوجود یہ کہ تم اس سے واقف ہو اس میں کجی نکالتے ہو اور خدا تمھارے کاموں سے بےخبر نہیں

Say, "O People of the Scripture, why do you avert from the way of Allah those who believe, seeking to make it [seem] deviant, while you are witnesses [to the truth]? And Allah is not unaware of what you do."

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ فَرِيقًا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَرُدُّوكُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كَٰفِرِينَ ﴿١٠٠﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in tuteeAAoo fareeqan mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba yaruddookum baAAda eemanikum kafireena

مومنو! اگر تم اہلِ کتاب کے کسی فریق کا کہا مان لو گے تو وہ تمھیں ایمان لانے کے بعد کافر بنا دیں گے

O you who have believed, if you obey a party of those who were given the Scripture, they would turn you back, after your belief, [to being] unbelievers.

وَكَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ وَأَنتُمْ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُهُۥ وَمَن يَعْتَصِم بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ هُدِىَ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ﴿١٠١﴾

Wakayfa takfuroona waantum tutla AAalaykum ayatu Allahi wafeekum rasooluhu waman yaAAtasim biAllahi faqad hudiya ila siratin mustaqeemin

اور تم کیونکر کفر کرو گے جبکہ تم کو خدا کی آیتیں پڑھ پڑھ کر سنائی جاتی ہیں اور تم میں اس کے پیغمبر موجود ہیں اور جس نے خدا (کی ہدایت کی رسی) کو مضبوط پکڑ لیا وہ سیدھے رستے لگ گیا

And how could you disbelieve while to you are being recited the verses of Allah and among you is His Messenger? And whoever holds firmly to Allah has [indeed] been guided to a straight path.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِۦ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ ﴿١٠٢﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ittaqoo Allaha haqqa tuqatihi wala tamootunna illa waantum muslimoona

مومنو! خدا سے ڈرو جیسا کہ اس سے ڈرنے کا حق ہے اور مرنا تو مسلمان ہی مرنا

O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].

وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبْلِ ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَآءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِۦٓ إِخْوَٰنًا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ﴿١٠٣﴾

WaiAAtasimoo bihabli Allahi jameeAAan wala tafarraqoo waothkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith kuntum aAAdaan faallafa bayna quloobikum faasbahtum biniAAmatihi ikhwanan wakuntum AAala shafa hufratin mina alnnari faanqathakum minha kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakum ayatihi laAAallakum tahtadoona

اور سب مل کر خدا کی (ہدایت کی رسی) کو مضبوط پکڑے رہنا اور متفرق نہ ہونا اور خدا کی اس مہربانی کو یاد کرو جب تم ایک دوسرے کے دشمن تھے تو اس نے تمہارے دلوں میں الفت ڈال دی اور تم اس کی مہربانی سے بھائی بھائی ہوگئے اور تم آگ کے گڑھے کے کنارے تک پہنچ چکے تھے تو خدا نے تم کو اس سے بچا لیا اس طرح خدا تم کو اپنی آیتیں کھول کھول کر سناتا ہے تاکہ تم ہدایت پاؤ

And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.

وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ ﴿١٠٤﴾

Waltakun minkum ommatun yadAAoona ila alkhayri wayamuroona bialmaAAroofi wayanhawna AAani almunkari waolaika humu almuflihoona

اور تم میں ایک جماعت ایسی ہونی چاہیئے جو لوگوں کو نیکی کی طرف بلائے اور اچھے کام کرنے کا حکم دے اور برے کاموں سے منع کرے یہی لوگ ہیں جو نجات پانے والے ہیں

And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.

وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ ﴿١٠٥﴾

Wala takoonoo kaallatheena tafarraqoo waikhtalafoo min baAAdi ma jaahumu albayyinatu waolaika lahum AAathabun AAa<i>th</i>eemun

اور ان لوگوں کی طرح نہ ہونا جو متفرق ہو گئے اور احکام بین آنے کے بعد ایک دوسرےسے (خلاف و) اختلاف کرنے لگے یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جن کو قیامت کے دن بڑا عذاب ہوگا

And do not be like the ones who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And those will have a great punishment.

يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ ﴿١٠٦﴾

Yawma tabyaddu wujoohun wataswaddu wujoohun faamma allatheena iswaddat wujoohuhum akafartum baAAda eemanikum fathooqoo alAAathaba bima kuntum takfuroona

جس دن بہت سے منہ سفید ہوں گے اور بہت سے منہ سیاہ تو جن لوگوں کے منہ سیاہ ہوں گے (ان سے خدا فرمائے گا) کیا تم ایمان لا کر کافر ہوگئے تھے؟ سو (اب) اس کفر کے بدلے عذاب (کے مزے) چکھو

On the Day [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black. As for those whose faces turn black, [to them it will be said], "Did you disbelieve after your belief? Then taste the punishment for what you used to reject."

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱبْيَضَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فَفِى رَحْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ﴿١٠٧﴾

Waamma allatheena ibyaddat wujoohuhum fafee rahmati Allahi hum feeha khalidoona

اور جن لوگوں کے منہ سفید ہوں گے وہ خدا کی رحمت (کے باغوں) میں ہوں گے اور ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے

But as for those whose faces will turn white, [they will be] within the mercy of Allah. They will abide therein eternally.

تِلْكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًا لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٠٨﴾

Tilka ayatu Allahi natlooha AAalayka bialhaqqi wama Allahu yureedu <i>th</i>ulman lilAAalameena

یہ خدا کی آیتیں ہیں جو ہم تم کو صحت کے ساتھ پڑھ کر سناتے ہیں اور خدا اہلِ عالم پر ظلم نہیں کرنا چاہتا

These are the verses of Allah. We recite them to you, [O Muhammad], in truth; and Allah wants no injustice to the worlds.

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ٱلْأُمُورُ ﴿١٠٩﴾

Walillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi waila Allahi turjaAAu alomooru

اور جو کچھ آسمانوں میں اور جو کچھ زمین میں ہے سب خدا ہی کا ہے اور سب کاموں کا رجوع (اور انجام) خدا ہی کی طرف ہے

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And to Allah will [all] matters be returned.

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ ﴿١١٠﴾

Kuntum khayra ommatin okhrijat lilnnasi tamuroona bialmaAAroofi watanhawna AAani almunkari watuminoona biAllahi walaw amana ahlu alkitabi lakana khayran lahum minhumu almuminoona waaktharuhumu alfasiqoona

(مومنو) جتنی امتیں (یعنی قومیں) لوگوں میں پیدا ہوئیں تم ان سب سے بہتر ہو کہ نیک کام کرنے کو کہتے ہو اور برے کاموں سے منع کرتے ہو اور خدا پر ایمان رکھتے ہو اور اگر اہلِ کتاب بھی ایمان لے آتے تو ان کے لیے بہت اچھا ہوتا ان میں ایمان لانے والے بھی ہیں (لیکن تھوڑے) اور اکثر نافرمان ہیں

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.

لَن يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلَّآ أَذًى وَإِن يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ ﴿١١١﴾

Lan yadurrookum illa athan wain yuqatilookum yuwallookumu aladbara thumma la yunsaroona

اور یہ تمہیں خفیف سی تکلیف کے سوا کچھ نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکیں گے اور اگر تم سے لڑیں گے تو پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگ جائیں گے پھر ان کو مدد بھی (کہیں سے) نہیں ملے گی

They will not harm you except for [some] annoyance. And if they fight you, they will show you their backs; then they will not be aided.

ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوٓا۟ إِلَّا بِحَبْلٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَحَبْلٍ مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا۟ وَّكَانُوا۟ يَعْتَدُونَ ﴿١١٢﴾

Duribat AAalayhimu alththillatu ayna ma thuqifoo illa bihablin mina Allahi wahablin mina alnnasi wabaoo bighadabin mina Allahi waduribat AAalayhimu almaskanatu thalika biannahum kanoo yakfuroona biayati Allahi wayaqtuloona alanbiyaa bighayri haqqin thalika bima AAasaw wakanoo yaAAtadoona

یہ جہاں نظر آئیں گے ذلت (کو دیکھو گے کہ) ان سے چمٹ رہی ہے بجز اس کے کہ یہ خدا اور (مسلمان) لوگوں کی پناہ میں آ جائیں اور یہ لوگ خدا کے غضب میں گرفتار ہیں اور ناداری ان سے لپٹ رہی ہے یہ اس لیے کہ خدا کی آیتوں سے انکار کرتےتھے اور (اس کے) پیغمبروں کو ناحق قتل کر دیتے تھے یہ اس لیے کہ یہ نافرمانی کیے جاتے اور حد سے بڑھے جاتے تھے

They have been put under humiliation [by Allah] wherever they are overtaken, except for a covenant from Allah and a rope from the Muslims. And they have drawn upon themselves anger from Allah and have been put under destitution. That is because they disbelieved in the verses of Allah and killed the prophets without right. That is because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.

لَيْسُوا۟ سَوَآءً مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أُمَّةٌ قَآئِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ ﴿١١٣﴾

Laysoo sawaan min ahli alkitabi ommatun qaimatun yatloona ayati Allahi anaa allayli wahum yasjudoona

یہ بھی سب ایک جیسے نہیں ہیں ان اہلِ کتاب میں کچھ لوگ (حکمِ خدا پر) قائم بھی ہیں جو رات کے وقت خدا کی آیتیں پڑھتے اور (اس کے آگے) سجدہ کرتے ہیں

They are not [all] the same; among the People of the Scripture is a community standing [in obedience], reciting the verses of Allah during periods of the night and prostrating [in prayer].

يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ﴿١١٤﴾

Yuminoona biAllahi waalyawmi alakhiri wayamuroona bialmaAAroofi wayanhawna AAani almunkari wayusariAAoona fee alkhayrati waolaika mina alssaliheena

(اور) خدا پر اور روز آخرت پر ایمان رکھتے اور اچھے کام کرنےکو کہتے اور بری باتوں سے منع کرتےاور نیکیوں پر لپکتے ہیں اور یہی لوگ نیکوکار ہیں

They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and hasten to good deeds. And those are among the righteous.

وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَن يُكْفَرُوهُ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿١١٥﴾

Wama yafAAaloo min khayrin falan yukfaroohu waAllahu AAaleemun bialmuttaqeena

اور یہ جس طرح کی نیکی کریں گے اس کی ناقدری نہیں کی جائے گی اور خدا پرہیزگاروں کو خوب جانتا ہے

And whatever good they do - never will it be removed from them. And Allah is Knowing of the righteous.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ﴿١١٦﴾

Inna allatheena kafaroo lan tughniya AAanhum amwaluhum wala awladuhum mina Allahi shayan waolaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona

جو لوگ کافر ہیں ان کے مال اور اولاد خدا کے غضب کو ہرگز نہیں ٹال سکیں گے اور یہ لوگ اہلِ دوزخ ہیں کہ ہمیشہ اسی میں رہیں گے

Indeed, those who disbelieve - never will their wealth or their children avail them against Allah at all, and those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ ﴿١١٧﴾

Mathalu ma yunfiqoona fee hathihi alhayati alddunya kamathali reehin feeha sirrun asabat hartha qawmin <i>th</i>alamoo anfusahum faahlakathu wama <i>th</i>alamahumu Allahu walakin anfusahum ya<i>th</i>limoona

یہ جو مال دنیا کی زندگی میں خرچ کرتے ہیں اس کی مثال ہوا کی سی ہے جس میں سخت سردی ہو اور وہ ایسے لوگوں کی کھیتی پر جو اپنے آپ پر ظلم کرتے تھے چلے اور اسے تباہ کر دے اور خدا نے ان پر کچھ ظلم نہیں کیا بلکہ یہ خود اپنے اوپر ظلم کر رہے ہیں

The example of what they spend in this worldly life is like that of a wind containing frost which strikes the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves and destroys it. And Allah has not wronged them, but they wrong themselves.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ بِطَانَةً مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا وَدُّوا۟ مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ ٱلْبَغْضَآءُ مِنْ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِى صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿١١٨﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo bitanatan min doonikum la yaloonakum khabalan waddoo ma AAanittum qad badati albaghdao min afwahihim wama tukhfee sudooruhum akbaru qad bayyanna lakumu alayati in kuntum taAAqiloona

مومنو! کسی غیر (مذہب کے آدمی) کو اپنا رازداں نہ بنانا یہ لوگ تمہاری خرابی اور (فتنہ انگیزی کرنے) میں کسی طرح کی کوتاہی نہیں کرتے اور چاہتے ہیں کہ (جس طرح ہو) تمہیں تکلیف پہنچے ان کی زبانوں سے تو دشمنی ظاہر ہوہی چکی ہے اور جو (کینے) ان کے سینوں میں مخفی ہیں وہ کہیں زیادہ ہیں اگر تم عقل رکھتے ہو تو ہم نے تم کو اپنی آیتیں کھول کھول کر سنا دی ہیں

O you who have believed, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves, for they will not spare you [any] ruin. They wish you would have hardship. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason.

هَٰٓأَنتُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْكِتَٰبِ كُلِّهِۦ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ عَضُّوا۟ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ قُلْ مُوتُوا۟ بِغَيْظِكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ﴿١١٩﴾

Haantum olai tuhibboonahum wala yuhibboonakum watuminoona bialkitabi kullihi waitha laqookum qaloo amanna waitha khalaw AAaddoo AAalaykumu alanamila mina alghay<i>th</i>i qul mootoo bighay<i>th</i>ikum inna Allaha AAaleemun bithati alssudoori

دیکھو تم ایسے (صاف دل) لوگ ہو کہ ان لوگوں سے دوستی رکھتے ہو حالانکہ وہ تم سے دوستی نہیں رکھتے اور تم سب کتابوں پر ایمان رکھتے ہو (اور وہ تمہاری کتاب کو نہیں مانتے) اور جب تم سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں ہم ایمان لے آئے اور جب الگ ہوتے ہیں تو تم پر غصے کے سبب انگلیاں کاٹ کاٹ کھاتے ہیں (ان سے) کہہ دو کہ (بدبختو) غصے میں مر جاؤ خدا تمہارے دلوں کی باتوں سے خوب واقف ہے

Here you are loving them but they are not loving you, while you believe in the Scripture - all of it. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe." But when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage. Say, "Die in your rage. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts."

إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ ﴿١٢٠﴾

In tamsaskum hasanatun tasuhum wain tusibkum sayyiatun yafrahoo biha wain tasbiroo watattaqoo la yadurrukum kayduhum shayan inna Allaha bima yaAAmaloona muheetun

اگر تمہیں آسودگی حاصل ہو تو ان کو بری لگتی ہے اور اگر رنج پہنچے تو خوش ہوتے ہیں اور اگر تم تکلیفوں کی برداشت اور (ان سے) کنارہ کشی کرتے رہو گے تو ان کا فریب تمھیں کچھ بھی نقصان نہ پہنچا سکے گا یہ جو کچھ کرتے ہیں خدا اس پر احاطہ کیے ہوئے ہے

If good touches you, it distresses them; but if harm strikes you, they rejoice at it. And if you are patient and fear Allah, their plot will not harm you at all. Indeed, Allah is encompassing of what they do.

وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ ﴿١٢١﴾

Waith ghadawta min ahlika tubawwio almumineena maqaAAida lilqitali waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun

اور (اس وقت کو یاد کرو) جب تم صبح کو اپنے گھر روانہ ہو کر ایمان والوں کو لڑائی کے لیے مورچوں پر (موقع بہ موقع) متعین کرنے لگے اور خدا سب کچھ سنتا اور جانتا ہے

And [remember] when you, [O Muhammad], left your family in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle [of Uhud] - and Allah is Hearing and Knowing -

إِذْ هَمَّت طَّآئِفَتَانِ مِنكُمْ أَن تَفْشَلَا وَٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١٢٢﴾

Ith hammat taifatani minkum an tafshala waAllahu waliyyuhuma waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona

اس وقت تم میں سے دو جماعتوں نے جی چھوڑ دینا چاہا مگر خدا ان کا مددگار تھا اور مومنوں کو خدا ہی پر بھروسہ رکھنا چاہیئے

When two parties among you were about to lose courage, but Allah was their ally; and upon Allah the believers should rely.

وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ﴿١٢٣﴾

Walaqad nasarakumu Allahu bibadrin waantum athillatun faittaqoo Allaha laAAallakum tashkuroona

اور خدا نے جنگِ بدر میں بھی تمہاری مدد کی تھی اور اس وقت بھی تم بے سرو وسامان تھے پس خدا سے ڈرو (اور ان احسانوں کو یاد کرو) تاکہ شکر کرو

And already had Allah given you victory at [the battle of] Badr while you were few in number. Then fear Allah; perhaps you will be grateful.

إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَن يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَن يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلَٰثَةِ ءَالَٰفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَ ﴿١٢٤﴾

Ith taqoolu lilmumineena alan yakfiyakum an yumiddakum rabbukum bithalathati alafin mina almalaikati munzaleena

جب تم مومنوں سے یہ کہہ (کر ان کے دل بڑھا) رہے تھے کہ کیا یہ کافی نہیں کہ پروردگار تین ہزار فرشتے نازل کر کے تمہیں مدد دے

[Remember] when you said to the believers, "Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down?

بَلَىٰٓ إِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ وَيَأْتُوكُم مِّن فَوْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِخَمْسَةِ ءَالَٰفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ ﴿١٢٥﴾

Bala in tasbiroo watattaqoo wayatookum min fawrihim hatha yumdidkum rabbukum bikhamsati alafin mina almalaikati musawwimeena

ہاں اگر تم دل کو مضبوط رکھو اور (خدا سے) ڈرتے رہو اور کافر تم پر جوش کے ساتھ دفعتہً حملہ کردیں تو پروردگار پانچ ہزار فرشتے جن پر نشان ہوں گے تمہاری مدد کو بھیجے گا

Yes, if you remain patient and conscious of Allah and the enemy come upon you [attacking] in rage, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels having marks [of distinction]

وَمَا جَعَلَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَىٰ لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِۦ وَمَا ٱلنَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ ﴿١٢٦﴾

Wama jaAAalahu Allahu illa bushra lakum walitatmainna quloobukum bihi wama alnnasru illa min AAindi Allahi alAAazeezi alhakeemi

اور اس مدد کو خدا نے تمھارے لیے (ذریعہٴ) بشارت بنایا یعنی اس لیے کہ تمہارے دلوں کو اس سے تسلی حاصل ہو ورنہ مدد تو خدا ہی کی ہے جو غالب (اور) حکمت والا ہے

And Allah made it not except as [a sign of] good tidings for you and to reassure your hearts thereby. And victory is not except from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise -

لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفًا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَآئِبِينَ ﴿١٢٧﴾

LiyaqtaAAa tarafan mina allatheena kafaroo aw yakbitahum fayanqaliboo khaibeena

(یہ خدا نے) اس لیے (کیا) کہ کافروں کی ایک جماعت کو ہلاک یا انہیں ذلیل ومغلوب کر دے کہ (جیسے آئے تھے ویسے ہی) ناکام واپس جائیں

That He might cut down a section of the disbelievers or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed.

لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ ﴿١٢٨﴾

Laysa laka mina alamri shayon aw yatooba AAalayhim aw yuAAaththibahum fainnahum <i>th</i>alimoona

(اے پیغمبر) اس کام میں تمہارا کچھ اختیار نہیں (اب دو صورتیں ہیں) یا خدا انکے حال پر مہربانی کرے یا انہیں عذاب دے کہ یہ ظالم لوگ ہیں

Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers.

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿١٢٩﴾

Walillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi yaghfiru liman yashao wayuAAaththibu man yashao waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun

اور جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے اور جو کچھ زمین میں ہے سب خدا ہی کا ہے وہ جسے چاہے بخش دے اور جسے چاہے عذاب کرے اور خدا بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوا۟ ٱلرِّبَوٰٓا۟ أَضْعَٰفًا مُّضَٰعَفَةً وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ ﴿١٣٠﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la takuloo alrriba adAAafan mudaAAafatan waittaqoo Allaha laAAallakum tuflihoona

اےایمان والو! دگنا چوگنا سود نہ کھاؤ اور خدا سے ڈرو تاکہ نجات حاصل کرو

O you who have believed, do not consume usury, doubled and multiplied, but fear Allah that you may be successful.

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿١٣١﴾

Waittaqoo alnnara allatee oAAiddat lilkafireena

اور (دوزخ کی) آگ سے بچو جو کافروں کے لیے تیار کی گئی ہے

And fear the Fire, which has been prepared for the disbelievers.

وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ﴿١٣٢﴾

WaateeAAoo Allaha waalrrasoola laAAallakum turhamoona

اور خدا اور اس کے رسول کی اطاعت کرو تاکہ تم پر رحمت کی جائے

And obey Allah and the Messenger that you may obtain mercy.

وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿١٣٣﴾

WasariAAoo ila maghfiratin min rabbikum wajannatin AAarduha alssamawatu waalardu oAAiddat lilmuttaqeena

اپنے پروردگار کی بخشش اور بہشت کی طرف لپکو جس کا عرض آسمان اور زمین کے برابر ہے اور جو (خدا سے) ڈرنے والوں کے لیے تیار کی گئی ہے

And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous

ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِى ٱلسَّرَّآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَٱلْكَٰظِمِينَ ٱلْغَيْظَ وَٱلْعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿١٣٤﴾

Allatheena yunfiqoona fee alssarrai waalddarrai waalka<i>th</i>imeena alghay<i>th</i>a waalAAafeena AAani alnnasi waAllahu yuhibbu almuhsineena

جو آسودگی اور تنگی میں (اپنا مال خدا کی راہ میں) خرچ کرتےہیں اور غصے کو روکتے اور لوگوں کے قصور معاف کرتے ہیں اور خدا نیکو کاروں کو دوست رکھتا ہے

Who spend [in the cause of Allah] during ease and hardship and who restrain anger and who pardon the people - and Allah loves the doers of good;

وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَٰحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿١٣٥﴾

Waallatheena itha faAAaloo fahishatan aw <i>th</i>alamoo anfusahum thakaroo Allaha faistaghfaroo lithunoobihim waman yaghfiru alththunooba illa Allahu walam yusirroo AAala ma faAAaloo wahum yaAAlamoona

اور وہ کہ جب کوئی کھلا گناہ یا اپنے حق میں کوئی اور برائی کر بیٹھتے ہیں تو خدا کو یاد کرتے اور اپنے گناہوں کی بخشش مانگتے ہیں اور خدا کے سوا گناہ بخش بھی کون سکتا ہے؟ اور جان بوجھ کر اپنے افعال پر اڑے نہیں رہتے

And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who can forgive sins except Allah? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they know.

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَٰمِلِينَ ﴿١٣٦﴾

Olaika jazaohum maghfiratun min rabbihim wajannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu khalideena feeha waniAAma ajru alAAamileena

ایسے ہی لوگوں کا صلہ پروردگار کی طرف سے بخشش اور باغ ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں (اور) وہ ان میں ہمیشہ بستے رہیں گے اور (اچھے) کام کرنے والوں کا بدلہ بہت اچھا ہے

Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers.

قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿١٣٧﴾

Qad khalat min qablikum sunanun faseeroo fee alardi faon<i>th</i>uroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almukaththibeena

تم لوگوں سے پہلے بھی بہت سے واقعات گزر چکے ہیں تو تم زمین کی سیر کرکے دیکھ لو کہ جھٹلانے والوں کا کیسا انجام ہوا

Similar situations [as yours] have passed on before you, so proceed throughout the earth and observe how was the end of those who denied.

هَٰذَا بَيَانٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿١٣٨﴾

Hatha bayanun lilnnasi wahudan wamawAAi<i>th</i>atun lilmuttaqeena

یہ (قرآن) لوگوں کے لیے بیان صریح اور اہلِ تقویٰ کے لیے ہدایت اور نصیحت ہے

This [Qur'an] is a clear statement to [all] the people and a guidance and instruction for those conscious of Allah.

وَلَا تَهِنُوا۟ وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٣٩﴾

Wala tahinoo wala tahzanoo waantumu alaAAlawna in kuntum mumineena

اور (دیکھو) بے دل نہ ہونا اور نہ کسی طرح کا غم کرنا اگر تم مومن (صادق) ہو تو تم ہی غالب رہو گے

So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers.

إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُۥ وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَآءَ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿١٤٠﴾

In yamsaskum qarhun faqad massa alqawma qarhun mithluhu watilka alayyamu nudawiluha bayna alnnasi waliyaAAlama Allahu allatheena amanoo wayattakhitha minkum shuhadaa waAllahu la yuhibbu al<i>thth</i>alimeena

اگر تمہیں زخم (شکست) لگا ہے تو ان لوگوں کو بھی ایسا زخم لگ چکا ہے اور یہ دن ہیں کہ ہم ان کو لوگوں میں بدلتے رہتے ہیں اور اس سے یہ بھی مقصود تھا کہ خدا ایمان والوں کو متمیز کر دے اور تم میں سے گواہ بنائے اور خدا بےانصافوں کو پسند نہیں کرتا

If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allah does not like the wrongdoers -

وَلِيُمَحِّصَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَمْحَقَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿١٤١﴾

Waliyumahhisa Allahu allatheena amanoo wayamhaqa alkafireena

اور یہ بھی مقصود تھا کہ خدا ایمان والوں کو خالص (مومن) بنا دے اور کافروں کو نابود کر دے

And that Allah may purify the believers [through trials] and destroy the disbelievers.

أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ ﴿١٤٢﴾

Am hasibtum an tadkhuloo aljannata walamma yaAAlami Allahu allatheena jahadoo minkum wayaAAlama alssabireena

کیا تم یہ سمجھتے ہو کہ (بےآزمائش) بہشت میں جا داخل ہو گے حالانکہ ابھی خدا نے تم میں سے جہاد کرنے والوں کو تو اچھی طرح معلوم کیا ہی نہیں اور (یہ بھی مقصود ہے) کہ وہ ثابت قدم رہنے والوں کو معلوم کرے

Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allah has not yet made evident those of you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast?

وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ ﴿١٤٣﴾

Walaqad kuntum tamannawna almawta min qabli an talqawhu faqad raaytumoohu waantum tan<i>th</i>uroona

اور تم موت (شہادت) کے آنے سے پہلے اس کی تمنا کیا کرتے تھے سو تم نے اس کو آنکھوں سے دیکھ لیا

And you had certainly wished for martyrdom before you encountered it, and you have [now] seen it [before you] while you were looking on.

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ أَفَإِي۟ن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيَجْزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ ﴿١٤٤﴾

Wama muhammadun illa rasoolun qad khalat min qablihi alrrusulu afain mata aw qutila inqalabtum AAala aAAqabikum waman yanqalib AAala AAaqibayhi falan yadurra Allaha shayan wasayajzee Allahu alshshakireena

اور محمد (صلی الله علیہ وسلم) تو صرف (خدا کے) پیغمبر ہیں ان سے پہلے بھی بہت سے پیغمبر ہو گزرے ہیں بھلا اگر یہ مر جائیں یا مارے جائیں تو تم الٹے پاؤں پھر جاؤ؟ (یعنی مرتد ہو جاؤ؟) اور جو الٹے پاؤں پھر جائے گا تو خدا کا کچھ نقصان نہ کر سکے گا اور خدا شکر گزاروں کو (بڑا) ثواب دے گا

Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful.

وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ كِتَٰبًا مُّؤَجَّلًا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَسَنَجْزِى ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ ﴿١٤٥﴾

Wama kana linafsin an tamoota illa biithni Allahi kitaban muajjalan waman yurid thawaba alddunya nutihi minha waman yurid thawaba alakhirati nutihi minha wasanajzee alshshakireena

اور کسی شخص میں طاقت نہیں کہ خدا کے حکم کے بغیر مر جائے (اس نے موت کا) وقت مقرر کر کے لکھ رکھا ہے اور جو شخص دنیا میں (اپنے اعمال کا) بدلہ چاہے اس کو ہم یہیں بدلہ دے دیں گے اور جو آخرت میں طالبِ ثواب ہو اس کو وہاں اجر عطا کریں گے اور ہم شکر گزاروں کو عنقریب (بہت اچھا) صلہ دیں گے

And it is not [possible] for one to die except by permission of Allah at a decree determined. And whoever desires the reward of this world - We will give him thereof; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter - We will give him thereof. And we will reward the grateful.

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن نَّبِىٍّ قَٰتَلَ مَعَهُۥ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌ فَمَا وَهَنُوا۟ لِمَآ أَصَابَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوا۟ وَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ ﴿١٤٦﴾

Wakaayyin min nabiyyin qatala maAAahu ribbiyyoona katheerun fama wahanoo lima asabahum fee sabeeli Allahi wama daAAufoo wama istakanoo waAllahu yuhibbu alssabireena

اور بہت سے نبی ہوئے ہیں جن کے ساتھ ہو کر اکثر اہل الله (خدا کے دشمنوں سے) لڑے ہیں تو جو مصبتیں ان پر راہِ خدا میں واقع ہوئیں ان کے سبب انہوں نے نہ تو ہمت ہاری اور نہ بزدلی کی نہ (کافروں سے) دبے اور خدا استقلال رکھنے والوں کو دوست رکھتا ہے

And how many a prophet [fought and] with him fought many religious scholars. But they never lost assurance due to what afflicted them in the cause of Allah, nor did they weaken or submit. And Allah loves the steadfast.

وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِىٓ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿١٤٧﴾

Wama kana qawlahum illa an qaloo rabbana ighfir lana thunoobana waisrafana fee amrina wathabbit aqdamana waonsurna AAala alqawmi alkafireena

اور (اس حالت میں) ان کے منہ سے کوئی بات نکلتی ہے تو یہی کہ اے پروردگار ہمارے گناہ اور زیادتیاں جو ہم اپنے کاموں میں کرتے رہے ہیں معاف فرما اور ہم کو ثابت قدم رکھ اور کافروں پر فتح عنایت فرما

And their words were not but that they said, "Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

فَـَٔاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿١٤٨﴾

Faatahumu Allahu thawaba alddunya wahusna thawabi alakhirati waAllahu yuhibbu almuhsineena

تو خدا نے ان کو دنیا میں بھی بدلہ دیا اور آخرت میں بھی بہت اچھا بدلہ (دے گا) اور خدا نیکو کاروں کو دوست رکھتا ہے

So Allah gave them the reward of this world and the good reward of the Hereafter. And Allah loves the doers of good.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَٰبِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَٰسِرِينَ ﴿١٤٩﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in tuteeAAoo allatheena kafaroo yaruddookum AAala aAAqabikum fatanqaliboo khasireena

مومنو! اگر تم کافروں کا کہا مان لو گے تو وہ تم کو الٹے پاؤں پھیر کر (مرتد کر) دیں گے پھر تم بڑے خسارے میں پڑ جاؤ گے

O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will [then] become losers.

بَلِ ٱللَّهُ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلنَّٰصِرِينَ ﴿١٥٠﴾

Bali Allahu mawlakum wahuwa khayru alnnasireena

(یہ تمہارے مددگار نہیں ہیں) بلکہ خدا تمہارا مددگار ہے اور وہ سب سے بہتر مددگار ہے

But Allah is your protector, and He is the best of helpers.

سَنُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ بِمَآ أَشْرَكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَٰنًا وَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿١٥١﴾

Sanulqee fee quloobi allatheena kafaroo alrruAAba bima ashrakoo biAllahi ma lam yunazzil bihi sultanan wamawahumu alnnaru wabisa mathwa al<i>thth</i>alimeena

ہم عنقریب کافروں کے دلوں میں تمہارا رعب بٹھا دیں گے کیونکہ یہ خدا کے ساتھ شرک کرتے ہیں جس کی اس نے کوئی بھی دلیل نازل نہیں کی اور ان کا ٹھکانہ دوزخ ہے وہ ظالموں کا بہت بُرا ٹھکانا ہے

We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve for what they have associated with Allah of which He had not sent down [any] authority. And their refuge will be the Fire, and wretched is the residence of the wrongdoers.

وَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥٓ إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذْنِهِۦ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَٰزَعْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَرَىٰكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَ مِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا عَنكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٥٢﴾

Walaqad sadaqakumu Allahu waAAdahu ith tahussoonahum biithnihi hatta itha fashiltum watanazaAAtum fee alamri waAAasaytum min baAAdi ma arakum ma tuhibboona minkum man yureedu alddunya waminkum man yureedu alakhirata thumma sarafakum AAanhum liyabtaliyakum walaqad AAafa AAankum waAllahu thoo fadlin AAala almumineena

اور خدا نے اپنا وعدہ سچا کر دیا (یعنی) اس وقت جبکہ تم کافروں کو اس کے حکم سے قتل کر رہے تھے یہاں تک کہ جو تم چاہتے تھے خدا نے تم کو دکھا دیا اس کے بعد تم نے ہمت ہار دی اور حکم (پیغمبر) میں جھگڑا کرنے لگے اور اس کی نافرمانی کی بعض تو تم میں سے دنیا کے خواستگار تھے اور بعض آخرت کے طالب اس وقت خدا نے تم کو ان (کے مقابلے) سے پھیر (کر بھگا) دیا تاکہ تمہاری آزمائش کرے اور اس نے تمہارا قصور معاف کر دیا اور خدا مومنو پر بڑا فضل کرنے والا ہے

And Allah had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing the enemy by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love. Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then he turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allah is the possessor of bounty for the believers.

إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُۥنَ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٍ وَٱلرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِىٓ أُخْرَىٰكُمْ فَأَثَٰبَكُمْ غَمًّۢا بِغَمٍّ لِّكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا مَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٥٣﴾

Ith tusAAidoona wala talwoona AAala ahadin waalrrasoolu yadAAookum fee okhrakum faathabakum ghamman bighammin likayla tahzanoo AAala ma fatakum wala ma asabakum waAllahu khabeerun bima taAAmaloona

(وہ وقت بھی یاد کرنے کے لائق ہے) جب تم لوگ دور بھاگے جاتے تھے اور کسی کو پیچھے پھر کر نہیں دیکھتے تھے اور رسول الله تم کو تمہارے پیچھے کھڑے بلا رہے تھے تو خدا نے تم کو غم پر غم پہنچایا تاکہ جو چیز تمہارے ہاتھ سے جاتی رہی یا جو مصیبت تم پر واقع ہوئی ہے اس سے تم اندوہ ناک نہ ہو اور خدا تمہارے سب اعمال سے خبردار ہے

[Remember] when you [fled and] climbed [the mountain] without looking aside at anyone while the Messenger was calling you from behind. So Allah repaid you with distress upon distress so you would not grieve for that which had escaped you [of victory and spoils of war] or [for] that which had befallen you [of injury and death]. And Allah is [fully] Acquainted with what you do.

ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْغَمِّ أَمَنَةً نُّعَاسًا يَغْشَىٰ طَآئِفَةً مِّنكُمْ وَطَآئِفَةٌ قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ غَيْرَ ٱلْحَقِّ ظَنَّ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ يَقُولُونَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ مِن شَىْءٍ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَمْرَ كُلَّهُۥ لِلَّهِ يُخْفُونَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِم مَّا لَا يُبْدُونَ لَكَ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌ مَّا قُتِلْنَا هَٰهُنَا قُل لَّوْ كُنتُمْ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ لَبَرَزَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَتْلُ إِلَىٰ مَضَاجِعِهِمْ وَلِيَبْتَلِىَ ٱللَّهُ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ وَلِيُمَحِّصَ مَا فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ﴿١٥٤﴾

Thumma anzala AAalaykum min baAAdi alghammi amanatan nuAAasan yaghsha taifatan minkum wataifatun qad ahammathum anfusuhum ya<i>th</i>unnoona biAllahi ghayra alhaqqi <i>th</i>anna aljahiliyyati yaqooloona hal lana mina alamri min shayin qul inna alamra kullahu lillahi yukhfoona fee anfusihim ma la yubdoona laka yaqooloona law kana lana mina alamri shayon ma qutilna hahuna qul law kuntum fee buyootikum labaraza allatheena kutiba AAalayhimu alqatlu ila madajiAAihim waliyabtaliya Allahu ma fee sudoorikum waliyumahhisa ma fee quloobikum waAllahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori

پھر خدا نے غم ورنج کے بعد تم پر تسلی نازل فرمائی (یعنی) نیند کہ تم میں سے ایک جماعت پر طاری ہو گئی اور کچھ لوگ جن کو جان کے لالے پڑ رہے تھے خدا کے بارے میں ناحق (ایام) کفر کے سے گمان کرتے تھے اور کہتے تھے بھلا ہمارے اختیار کی کچھ بات ہے؟ تم کہہ دو کہ بےشک سب باتیں خدا ہی کے اختیار میں ہیں یہ لوگ (بہت سی باتیں) دلوں میں مخفی رکھتے ہیں جو تم پر ظاہر نہیں کرتے تھے کہتے تھے کہ ہمارے بس کی بات ہوتی تو ہم یہاں قتل ہی نہ کیے جاتے کہہ دو کہ اگر تم اپنے گھروں میں بھی ہوتے تو جن کی تقدیر میں مارا جانا لکھا تھا وہ اپنی اپنی قتل گاہوں کی طرف ضرور نکل آتے اس سے غرض یہ تھی کہ خدا تمہارے سینوں کی باتوں کو آزمائے اور جو کچھ تمہارے دلوں میں ہے اس کو خالص اور صاف کر دے اور خدا دلوں کی باتوں سے خوب واقف ہے

Then after distress, He sent down upon you security [in the form of] drowsiness, overcoming a faction of you, while another faction worried about themselves, thinking of Allah other than the truth - the thought of ignorance, saying, "Is there anything for us [to have done] in this matter?" Say, "Indeed, the matter belongs completely to Allah." They conceal within themselves what they will not reveal to you. They say, "If there was anything we could have done in the matter, some of us would not have been killed right here." Say, "Even if you had been inside your houses, those decreed to be killed would have come out to their death beds." [It was] so that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purify what is in your hearts. And Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا۟ مِنكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ إِنَّمَا ٱسْتَزَلَّهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ ﴿١٥٥﴾

Inna allatheena tawallaw minkum yawma iltaqa aljamAAani innama istazallahumu alshshaytanu bibaAAdi ma kasaboo walaqad AAafa Allahu AAanhum inna Allaha ghafoorun haleemun

جو لوگ تم میں سے (اُحد کے دن) جبکہ (مومنوں اور کافروں کی) دو جماعتیں ایک دوسرے سے گتھ گئیں (جنگ سے) بھاگ گئے تو ان کے بعض افعال کے سبب شیطان نے ان کو پھسلا دیا مگر خدا نے ان کا قصور معاف کر دیا بےشک خدا بخشنے والا اور بردبار ہے

Indeed, those of you who turned back on the day the two armies met, it was Satan who caused them to slip because of some [blame] they had earned. But Allah has already forgiven them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا۟ غُزًّى لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُوا۟ وَمَا قُتِلُوا۟ لِيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسْرَةً فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ ﴿١٥٦﴾

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la takoonoo kaallatheena kafaroo waqaloo liikhwanihim itha daraboo fee alardi aw kanoo ghuzzan law kanoo AAindana ma matoo wama qutiloo liyajAAala Allahu thalika hasratan fee quloobihim waAllahu yuhyee wayumeetu waAllahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun

مومنو! ان لوگوں جیسے نہ ہونا جو کفر کرتے ہیں اور ان کے (مسلمان) بھائی جب (خدا کی راہ میں) سفر کریں (اور مر جائیں) یا جہاد کو نکلیں (اور مارے جائیں) تو ان کی نسبت کہتے ہیں کہ اگر وہ ہمارے پاس رہتے تو نہ مرتے اور نہ مارے جاتے۔ ان باتوں سے مقصود یہ ہے کہ خدا ان لوگوں کے دلوں میں افسوس پیدا کر دے اور زندگی اور موت تو خدا ہی دیتا ہے اور خدا تمہارے سب کاموں کو دیکھ رہا ہے

O you who have believed, do not be like those who disbelieved and said about their brothers when they traveled through the land or went out to fight, "If they had been with us, they would not have died or have been killed," so Allah makes that [misconception] a regret within their hearts. And it is Allah who gives life and causes death, and Allah is Seeing of what you do.

وَلَئِن قُتِلْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ مُتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ ﴿١٥٧﴾

Walain qutiltum fee sabeeli Allahi aw muttum lamaghfiratun mina Allahi warahmatun khayrun mimma yajmaAAoona

اور اگر تم خدا کے رستے میں مارے جاؤ یا مرجاؤ تو جو (مال و متاع) لوگ جمع کرتے ہیں اس سے خدا کی بخشش اور رحمت کہیں بہتر ہے

And if you are killed in the cause of Allah or die - then forgiveness from Allah and mercy are better than whatever they accumulate [in this world].

وَلَئِن مُّتُّمْ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُحْشَرُونَ ﴿١٥٨﴾

Walain muttum aw qutiltum laila Allahi tuhsharoona

اور اگر تم مرجاؤ یا مارے جاؤ خدا کے حضور میں ضرور اکھٹے کئے جاؤ گے

And whether you die or are killed, unto Allah you will be gathered.

فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ ﴿١٥٩﴾

Fabima rahmatin mina Allahi linta lahum walaw kunta fa<i>thth</i>an ghalee<i>th</i>a alqalbi lainfaddoo min hawlika faoAAfu AAanhum waistaghfir lahum washawirhum fee alamri faitha AAazamta fatawakkal AAala Allahi inna Allaha yuhibbu almutawakkileena

(اے محمدﷺ) خدا کی مہربانی سے تمہاری افتاد مزاج ان لوگوں کے لئے نرم واقع ہوئی ہے۔ اور اگر تم بدخو اور سخت دل ہوتے تو یہ تمہارے پاس سے بھاگ کھڑے ہوتے۔ تو ان کو معاف کردو اور ان کے لئے (خدا سے) مغفرت مانگو۔ اور اپنے کاموں میں ان سے مشورت لیا کرو۔ اور جب (کسی کام کا) عزم مصمم کرلو تو خدا پر بھروسا رکھو۔ بےشک خدا بھروسا رکھنے والوں کو دوست رکھتا ہے

So by mercy from Allah, [O Muhammad], you were lenient with them. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him].

إِن يَنصُرْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا غَالِبَ لَكُمْ وَإِن يَخْذُلْكُمْ فَمَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَنصُرُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿١٦٠﴾

In yansurkumu Allahu fala ghaliba lakum wain yakhthulkum faman tha allathee yansurukum min baAAdihi waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali almuminoona

اور خدا تمہارا مددگار ہے تو تم پر کوئی غالب نہیں آسکتا۔ اور اگر وہ تمہیں چھوڑ دے تو پھر کون ہے کہ تمہاری مدد کرے اور مومنوں کو چاہیئے کہ خدا ہی پر بھروسا رکھیں

If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely.

وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِىٍّ أَن يَغُلَّ وَمَن يَغْلُلْ يَأْتِ بِمَا غَلَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ ﴿١٦١﴾

Wama kana linabiyyin an yaghulla waman yaghlul yati bima ghalla yawma alqiyamati thumma tuwaffa kullu nafsin ma kasabat wahum la yu<i>th</i>lamoona

اور کبھی نہیں ہوسکتا کہ پیغمبر (خدا) خیانت کریں۔ اور خیانت کرنے والوں کو قیامت کے دن خیانت کی ہوئی چیز (خدا کے روبرو) لاحاضر کرنی ہوگی۔ پھر ہر شخص کو اس کے اعمال کا پورا پورا بدلا دیا جائے گا اور بےانصافی نہیں کی جائے گی

It is not [attributable] to any prophet that he would act unfaithfully [in regard to war booty]. And whoever betrays, [taking unlawfully], will come with what he took on the Day of Resurrection. Then will every soul be [fully] compensated for what it earned, and they will not be wronged.

أَفَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَنۢ بَآءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ ﴿١٦٢﴾

Afamani ittabaAAa ridwana Allahi kaman baa bisakhatin mina Allahi wamawahu jahannamu wabisa almaseeru

بھلا جو شخص خدا کی خوشنودی کا تابع ہو وہ اس شخص کی طرح (مرتکب خیانت) ہوسکتا ہے جو خدا کی ناخوشی میں گرفتار ہو اور جس کا ٹھکانہ دوزخ ہے، اور وہ برا ٹھکانا ہے

So is one who pursues the pleasure of Allah like one who brings upon himself the anger of Allah and whose refuge is Hell? And wretched is the destination.

هُمْ دَرَجَٰتٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿١٦٣﴾

Hum darajatun AAinda Allahi waAllahu baseerun bima yaAAmaloona

ان لوگوں کے خدا کے ہاں (مختلف اور متفاوت) درجے ہیں اور خدا ان کے سب اعمال کو دیکھ رہا ہے

They are [varying] degrees in the sight of Allah, and Allah is Seeing of whatever they do.

لَقَدْ مَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿١٦٤﴾

Laqad manna Allahu AAala almumineena ith baAAatha feehim rasoolan min anfusihim yatloo AAalayhim ayatihi wayuzakkeehim wayuAAallimuhumu alkitaba waalhikmata wain kanoo min qablu lafee dalalin mubeenin

خدا نے مومنوں پر بڑا احسان کیا ہے کہ ان میں انہیں میں سے ایک پیغمبر بھیجے۔ جو ان کو خدا کی آیتیں پڑھ پڑھ کر سناتے اور ان کو پاک کرتے اور (خدا کی) کتاب اور دانائی سکھاتے ہیں اور پہلے تو یہ لوگ صریح گمراہی میں تھے

Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error.

أَوَلَمَّآ أَصَٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَدْ أَصَبْتُم مِّثْلَيْهَا قُلْتُمْ أَنَّىٰ هَٰذَا قُلْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ﴿١٦٥﴾

Awalamma asabatkum museebatun qad asabtum mithlayha qultum anna hatha qul huwa min AAindi anfusikum inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

(بھلا یہ) کیا (بات ہے کہ) جب (اُحد کے دن کافر کے ہاتھ سے) تم پر مصیبت واقع ہوئی حالانکہ (جنگ بدر میں) اس سے دوچند مصیبت تمہارے ہاتھ سے ان پر پڑچکی ہے توتم چلا اٹھے کہ (ہائے) آفت (ہم پر) کہاں سے آپڑی کہہ دو کہ یہ تمہاری ہی شامت اعمال ہے (کہ تم نے پیغمبر کے حکم کے خلاف کیا) بےشک خدا ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

Why [is it that] when a [single] disaster struck you [on the day of Uhud], although you had struck [the enemy in the battle of Badr] with one twice as great, you said, "From where is this?" Say, "It is from yourselves." Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.

وَمَآ أَصَٰبَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ فَبِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٦٦﴾

Wama asabakum yawma iltaqa aljamAAani fabiithni Allahi waliyaAAlama almumineena

اور جو مصیبت تم پر دونوں جماعتوں کے مقابلے کے دن واقع ہوئی سو خدا کے حکم سے (واقع ہوئی) اور (اس سے) یہ مقصود تھا کہ خدا مومنوں کو اچھی طرح معلوم

And what struck you on the day the two armies met was by permission of Allah that He might make evident the [true] believers.

وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا۟ وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ قَٰتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوِ ٱدْفَعُوا۟ قَالُوا۟ لَوْ نَعْلَمُ قِتَالًا لَّٱتَّبَعْنَٰكُمْ هُمْ لِلْكُفْرِ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَقْرَبُ مِنْهُمْ لِلْإِيمَٰنِ يَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَٰهِهِم مَّا لَيْسَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَكْتُمُونَ ﴿١٦٧﴾

WaliyaAAlama allatheena nafaqoo waqeela lahum taAAalaw qatiloo fee sabeeli Allahi awi idfaAAoo qaloo law naAAlamu qitalan laittabaAAnakum hum lilkufri yawmaithin aqrabu minhum lileemani yaqooloona biafwahihim ma laysa fee quloobihim waAllahu aAAlamu bima yaktumoona

اور منافقوں کو بھی معلوم کرلے اور (جب) ان سے کہا گیا کہ آؤ خدا کے رستے میں جنگ کرو یا (کافروں کے) حملوں کو روکو۔ تو کہنے لگے کہ اگر ہم کو لڑائی کی خبر ہوتی تو ہم ضرور تمہارے ساتھ رہتے یہ اس دن ایمان کی نسبت کفر سے زیادہ قریب تھے منہ سے وہ باتیں کہتے ہیں جو ان کے دل میں نہیں ہیں۔ اور جو کچھ یہ چھپاتے ہیں خدا ان سے خوب واقف ہے

And that He might make evident those who are hypocrites. For it was said to them, "Come, fight in the way of Allah or [at least] defend." They said, "If we had known [there would be] fighting, we would have followed you." They were nearer to disbelief that day than to faith, saying with their mouths what was not in their hearts. And Allah is most Knowing of what they conceal -

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ وَقَعَدُوا۟ لَوْ أَطَاعُونَا مَا قُتِلُوا۟ قُلْ فَٱدْرَءُوا۟ عَنْ أَنفُسِكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿١٦٨﴾

Allatheena qaloo liikhwanihim waqaAAadoo law ataAAoona ma qutiloo qul faidraoo AAan anfusikumu almawta in kuntum sadiqeena

یہ خود تو (جنگ سے بچ کر) بیٹھ ہی رہے تھے مگر (جنہوں نے راہ خدا میں جانیں قربان کردیں) اپنے (ان) بھائیوں کے بارے میں بھی کہتے ہیں کہ اگر ہمارا کہا مانتے تو قتل نہ ہوتے۔ کہہ دو کہ اگر سچے ہو تو اپنے اوپر سے موت کو ٹال دینا

Those who said about their brothers while sitting [at home], "If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Then prevent death from yourselves, if you should be truthful."

وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمْوَٰتًۢا بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ ﴿١٦٩﴾

Wala tahsabanna allatheena qutiloo fee sabeeli Allahi amwatan bal ahyaon AAinda rabbihim yurzaqoona

جو لوگ خدا کی راہ میں مارے گئے ان کو مرے ہوئے نہ سمجھنا (وہ مرے ہوئے نہیں ہیں) بلکہ خدا کے نزدیک زندہ ہیں اور ان کو رزق مل رہا ہے

And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision,

فَرِحِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا۟ بِهِم مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ﴿١٧٠﴾

Fariheena bima atahumu Allahu min fadlihi wayastabshiroona biallatheena lam yalhaqoo bihim min khalfihim alla khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona

جو کچھ خدا نے ان کو اپنے فضل سے بخش رکھا ہے اس میں خوش ہیں۔ اور جو لوگ ان کے پیچھے رہ گئے اور (شہید ہوکر) ان میں شامل نہیں ہوسکے ان کی نسبت خوشیاں منا رہے ہیں کہ (قیامت کے دن) ان کو بھی نہ کچھ خوف ہوگا اور نہ وہ غمناک ہوں گے

Rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty, and they receive good tidings about those [to be martyred] after them who have not yet joined them - that there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٧١﴾

Yastabshiroona biniAAmatin mina Allahi wafadlin waanna Allaha la yudeeAAu ajra almumineena

اور خدا کے انعامات اور فضل سے خوش ہورہے ہیں۔ اور اس سے کہ خدا مومنوں کا اجر ضائع نہیں کرتا

They receive good tidings of favor from Allah and bounty and [of the fact] that Allah does not allow the reward of believers to be lost -

ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلْقَرْحُ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ ﴿١٧٢﴾

Allatheena istajaboo lillahi waalrrasooli min baAAdi ma asabahumu alqarhu lillatheena ahsanoo minhum waittaqaw ajrun AAa<i>th</i>eemun

جنہوں نے باوجود زخم کھانے کے خدا اور رسول (کے حکم) کو قبول کیا جو لوگ ان میں نیکوکار اور پرہیزگار ہیں ان کے لئے بڑا ثواب ہے

Those [believers] who responded to Allah and the Messenger after injury had struck them. For those who did good among them and feared Allah is a great reward -

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَٰنًا وَقَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ ٱلْوَكِيلُ ﴿١٧٣﴾

Allatheena qala lahumu alnnasu inna alnnasa qad jamaAAoo lakum faikhshawhum fazadahum eemanan waqaloo hasbuna Allahu waniAAma alwakeelu

(جب) ان سے لوگوں نے آکر بیان کیا کہ کفار نے تمہارے (مقابلے کے) لئے لشکر کثیر) جمع کیا ہے تو ان سے ڈرو۔ تو ان کا ایمان اور زیادہ ہوگیا۔ اور کہنے لگے ہم کو خدا کافی ہے اور وہ بہت اچھا کارساز ہے

Those to whom hypocrites said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs."

فَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ لَّمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوٓءٌ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿١٧٤﴾

Fainqalaboo biniAAmatin mina Allahi wafadlin lam yamsashum sooon waittabaAAoo ridwana Allahi waAllahu thoo fadlin AAa<i>th</i>eemin

پھر وہ خدا کی نعمتوں اور اس کے فضل کے ساتھ (خوش وخرم) واپس آئے ان کو کسی طرح کا ضرر نہ پہنچا۔ اور وہ خدا کی خوشنودی کے تابع رہے۔ اور خدا بڑے فضل کا مالک ہے

So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them. And they pursued the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.

إِنَّمَا ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَآءَهُۥ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ﴿١٧٥﴾

Innama thalikumu alshshaytanu yukhawwifu awliyaahu fala takhafoohum wakhafooni in kuntum mumineena

یہ (خوف دلانے والا) تو شیطان ہے جو اپنے دوستوں سے ڈراتا ہے تو اگر تم مومن ہو تو ان سے مت ڈرنا اور مجھ ہی سے ڈرتے رہنا

That is only Satan who frightens [you] of his supporters. So fear them not, but fear Me, if you are [indeed] believers.

وَلَا يَحْزُنكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ إِنَّهُمْ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَلَّا يَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ حَظًّا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ ﴿١٧٦﴾

Wala yahzunka allatheena yusariAAoona fee alkufri innahum lan yadurroo Allaha shayan yureedu Allahu alla yajAAala lahum ha<i>thth</i>an fee alakhirati walahum AAathabun AAa<i>th</i>eemun

اور جو لوگ کفر میں جلدی کرتے ہیں ان (کی وجہ) سے غمگین نہ ہونا۔ یہ خدا کا کچھ نقصان نہیں کرسکتے خدا چاہتا ہے کہ آخرت میں ان کو کچھ حصہ نہ دے اور ان کے لئے بڑا عذاب تیار ہے

And do not be grieved, [O Muhammad], by those who hasten into disbelief. Indeed, they will never harm Allah at all. Allah intends that He should give them no share in the Hereafter, and for them is a great punishment.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿١٧٧﴾

Inna allatheena ishtarawoo alkufra bialeemani lan yadurroo Allaha shayan walahum AAathabun aleemun

جن لوگوں نے ایمان کے بدلے کفر خریدا وہ خدا کا کچھ نہیں بگاڑ سکتے اور ان کو دکھ دینے والا عذاب ہوگا

Indeed, those who purchase disbelief [in exchange] for faith - never will they harm Allah at all, and for them is a painful punishment.

وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ لِّأَنفُسِهِمْ إِنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوٓا۟ إِثْمًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ ﴿١٧٨﴾

Wala yahsabanna allatheena kafaroo annama numlee lahum khayrun lianfusihim innama numlee lahum liyazdadoo ithman walahum AAathabun muheenun

اور کافر لوگ یہ نہ خیال کریں کہ ہم جو ان کو مہلت دیئے جاتے ہیں تو یہ ان کے حق میں اچھا ہے۔ (نہیں بلکہ) ہم ان کو اس لئے مہلت دیتے ہیں کہ اور گناہ کرلیں۔ آخرکار ان کو ذلیل کرنے والا عذاب ہوگا

And let not those who disbelieve ever think that [because] We extend their time [of enjoyment] it is better for them. We only extend it for them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment.

مَّا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَذَرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَجْتَبِى مِن رُّسُلِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَلَكُمْ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ ﴿١٧٩﴾

Ma kana Allahu liyathara almumineena AAala ma antum AAalayhi hatta yameeza alkhabeetha mina alttayyibi wama kana Allahu liyutliAAakum AAala alghaybi walakinna Allaha yajtabee min rusulihi man yashao faaminoo biAllahi warusulihi wain tuminoo watattaqoo falakum ajrun AAa<i>th</i>eemun

(لوگو) جب تک خدا ناپاک کو پاک سے الگ نہ کردے گا مومنوں کو اس حال میں جس میں تم ہو ہرگز نہیں رہنے دے گا۔ اور الله تم کوغیب کی باتوں سے بھی مطلع نہیں کرے گاالبتہ خدا اپنے پیغمبروں میں سے جسے چاہتا ہے انتخاب کرلیتا ہے۔ تو تم خدا پر اور اس کے رسولوں پر ایمان لاؤاور اگر ایمان لاؤ گے اور پرہیزگاری کرو گے تو تم کو اجر عظیم ملے گا

Allah would not leave the believers in that [state] you are in [presently] until He separates the evil from the good. Nor would Allah reveal to you the unseen. But [instead], Allah chooses of His messengers whom He wills, so believe in Allah and His messengers. And if you believe and fear Him, then for you is a great reward.

وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَّهُمْ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَٰثُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ ﴿١٨٠﴾

Wala yahsabanna allatheena yabkhaloona bima atahummu Allahu min fadlihi huwa khayran lahum bal huwa sharrun lahum sayutawwaqoona ma bakhiloo bihi yawma alqiyamati walillahi meerathu alssamawati waalardi waAllahu bima taAAmaloona khabeerun

جو لوگ مال میں جو خدا نے اپنے فضل سے ان کو عطا فرمایا ہے بخل کرتے ہیں وہ اس بخل کو اپنے حق میں اچھا نہ سمجھیں۔ (وہ اچھا نہیں) بلکہ ان کے لئے برا ہے وہ جس مال میں بخل کرتے ہیں قیامت کے دن اس کا طوق بنا کر ان کی گردنوں میں ڈالا جائے گا۔ اور آسمانوں اور زمین کا وارث خدا ہی ہے۔ اور جو عمل تم کرتے ہوخدا کو معلوم ہے

And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them of His bounty ever think that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them. Their necks will be encircled by what they withheld on the Day of Resurrection. And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, with what you do, is [fully] Acquainted.

لَّقَدْ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوْلَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ فَقِيرٌ وَنَحْنُ أَغْنِيَآءُ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَالُوا۟ وَقَتْلَهُمُ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَنَقُولُ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْحَرِيقِ ﴿١٨١﴾

Laqad samiAAa Allahu qawla allatheena qaloo inna Allaha faqeerun wanahnu aghniyaon sanaktubu ma qaloo waqatlahumu alanbiyaa bighayri haqqin wanaqoolu thooqoo AAathaba alhareeqi

خدا نے ان لوگوں کا قول سن لیا ہے جو کہتے ہیں کہ خدا فقیر ہے۔ اور ہم امیر ہیں۔ یہ جو کہتے ہیں ہم اس کو لکھ لیں گے۔ اور پیغمبروں کو جو یہ ناحق قتل کرتے رہے ہیں اس کو بھی (قلمبند کر رکھیں گے) اور (قیامت کے روز) کہیں گے کہ عذاب (آتش) سوزاں کے مزے چکھتے رہو

Allah has certainly heard the statement of those [Jews] who said, "Indeed, Allah is poor, while we are rich." We will record what they said and their killing of the prophets without right and will say, "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire.

ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ ﴿١٨٢﴾

Thalika bima qaddamat aydeekum waanna Allaha laysa bi<i>th</i>allamin lilAAabeedi

یہ ان کاموں کی سزا ہے جو تمہارے ہاتھ آگے بھیجتے رہے ہیں اور خدا تو بندوں پر مطلق ظلم نہیں کرتا

That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants."

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَآ أَلَّا نُؤْمِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَنَا بِقُرْبَانٍ تَأْكُلُهُ ٱلنَّارُ قُلْ قَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِى بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَبِٱلَّذِى قُلْتُمْ فَلِمَ قَتَلْتُمُوهُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿١٨٣﴾

Allatheena qaloo inna Allaha AAahida ilayna alla numina lirasoolin hatta yatiyana biqurbanin takuluhu alnnaru qul qad jaakum rusulun min qablee bialbayyinati wabiallathee qultum falima qataltumoohum in kutum sadiqeena

جو لوگ کہتے ہی کہ خدا نے ہمیں حکم بھیجا ہے کہ جب تک کوئی پیغمبر ہمارے پاس ایسی نیاز لے کر نہ آئے جس کو آگ آکر کھا جائے تب تک ہم اس پر ایمان نہ لائیں گے (اے پیغمبر ان سے) کہہ دو کہ مجھ سے پہلے کئی پیغمبر تمہارے پاس کھلی ہوئی نشانیاں لے کر آئے اور وہ (معجزہ) بھی لائے جو تم کہتے ہو تو اگر سچے ہو تو تم نے ان کو قتل کیوں کیا؟

[They are] those who said, "Indeed, Allah has taken our promise not to believe any messenger until he brings us an offering which fire [from heaven] will consume." Say, "There have already come to you messengers before me with clear proofs and [even] that of which you speak. So why did you kill them, if you should be truthful?"

فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ جَآءُو بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ ٱلْمُنِيرِ ﴿١٨٤﴾

Fain kaththabooka faqad kuththiba rusulun min qablika jaoo bialbayyinati waalzzuburi waalkitabi almuneeri

پھر اگر یہ لوگ تم کو سچا نہ سمجھیں تو تم سے پہلے بہت سے پیغمبر کھلی ہوئی نشانیاں اور صحیفے اور روشن کتابیں لے کر آچکے ہیں اور لوگوں نے ان کو بھی سچا نہیں سمجھا

Then if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - so were messengers denied before you, who brought clear proofs and written ordinances and the enlightening Scripture.

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَمَن زُحْزِحَ عَنِ ٱلنَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلْغُرُورِ ﴿١٨٥﴾

Kullu nafsin thaiqatu almawti wainnama tuwaffawna ojoorakum yawma alqiyamati faman zuhziha AAani alnnari waodkhila aljannata faqad faza wama alhayatu alddunya illa mataAAu alghuroori

ہر متنفس کو موت کا مزا چکھنا ہے اور تم کو قیامت کے دن تمہارے اعمال کا پورا پورا بدلا دیا جائے گا۔ تو جو شخص آتش جہنم سے دور رکھا گیا اور بہشت میں داخل کیا گیا وہ مراد کو پہنچ گیا اور دنیا کی زندگی تو دھوکے کا سامان ہے

Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion.

لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ وَلَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ أَذًى كَثِيرًا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ ﴿١٨٦﴾

Latublawunna fee amwalikum waanfusikum walatasmaAAunna mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba min qablikum wamina allatheena ashrakoo athan katheeran wain tasbiroo watattaqoo fainna thalika min AAazmi alomoori

(اے اہل ایمان) تمہارے مال و جان میں تمہاری آزمائش کی جائے گی۔ اور تم اہل کتاب سے اور ان لوگوں سے جو مشرک ہیں بہت سی ایذا کی باتیں سنو گے۔ اور تو اگر صبر اور پرہیزگاری کرتے رہو گے تو یہ بڑی ہمت کے کام ہیں

You will surely be tested in your possessions and in yourselves. And you will surely hear from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who associate others with Allah much abuse. But if you are patient and fear Allah - indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of determination.

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُۥ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَكْتُمُونَهُۥ فَنَبَذُوهُ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا فَبِئْسَ مَا يَشْتَرُونَ ﴿١٨٧﴾

Waith akhatha Allahu meethaqa allatheena ootoo alkitaba latubayyinunnahu lilnnasi wala taktumoonahu fanabathoohu waraa <i>th</i>uhoorihim waishtaraw bihi thamanan qaleelan fabisa ma yashtaroona

اور جب خدا نے ان لوگوں سے جن کو کتاب عنایت کی گئی تھی اقرار کرلیا کہ (جو کچھ اس میں لکھا ہے) اسے صاف صاف بیان کرتے رہنا۔ اور اس (کی کسی بات) کو نہ چھپانا تو انہں نے اس کو پس پشت پھینک دیا اور اس کے بدلے تھوڑی سی قیمت حاصل کی۔ یہ جو کچھ حاصل کرتے ہیں برا ہے

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Allah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, [saying], "You must make it clear to the people and not conceal it." But they threw it away behind their backs and exchanged it for a small price. And wretched is that which they purchased.

لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أَتَوا۟ وَّيُحِبُّونَ أَن يُحْمَدُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا۟ فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّهُم بِمَفَازَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿١٨٨﴾

La tahsabanna allatheena yafrahoona bima ataw wayuhibboona an yuhmadoo bima lam yafAAaloo fala tahsabannahum bimafazatin mina alAAathabi walahum AAathabun aleemun

جو لوگ اپنے (ناپسند) کاموں سے خوش ہوتے ہیں اور پسندیدہ کام) جو کرتے نہیں ان کے لئے چاہتے ہیں کہ ان ک تعریف کی جائے ان کی نسبت خیال نہ کرنا کہ وہ عذاب سے رستگار ہوجائیں گے۔ اور انہیں درد دینے والا عذاب ہوگا

And never think that those who rejoice in what they have perpetrated and like to be praised for what they did not do - never think them [to be] in safety from the punishment, and for them is a painful punishment.
